SO PRETTY NAMAN THIS LITTLE GIRL - hulaan mo
Kamille? Hahahaha
I remember feeling so old when I was in 3rd year high school - the transition from belonging to the “lower years” to all of a sudden belonging to the “higher years” in just a snap.
And now I’m an incoming 3rd year college student already
Majority of the people I follow on twitter are talking about work
My playmates when I was a kid are about to graduate college
My cousins whom I used to run and play with have work and even families now
Like woah there, time. You need to take a chill pill.
Gone were the days when our dad would treat us to Mcdo every time we got 90% and above on our tests. When mom would ask me what I want every time I was ill. When I roller skate around TSU and everyone there knew me as the kid who skates. When I get annoyed at my sisters when they would change the channel to Myx when I was watching Totally Spies. When I get to watch my favorite cartoons on Disney and Cartoon Network all day when I was sick or my parents are at work and I get the television in their room all by myself. When my godparents would give me toys and clothes for Christmas. When I loved pink so much that almost everything I owned was pink. When I would get all jittery and excited when we would go back-to-school shopping. When I believed in Santa. When my family was complete here in the Philippines and we would go to Baguio every weekend because we had an apartment there. When we would go out of town every time and sing along to the songs blasting on the car radio.
Funny how sometimes you feel like an hour of waiting is too long to endure. And you look back at the past 12 years and you feel like time is going by way too fast. C R A Z Y.
Hi. I stumble upon your "mind palace" and I was amazed with you and your writings. They're really flabbergasting! And btw, I'm from HAU (lol idk if you remember me). Have a nice day, Kat! PS. I envy you bcos you have the passion to blog. Heheh :--) xx
Hello Ate Cha! Of course I remember you po from Psych Soc with with Ate Tere. Hehe. We even sat in the same circle with the activity where Sir Biboy & Ate Selosa served as our faci 😂 I cannot tell you how thankful and kilegsxz I am po for your kind words 😍 Thank you so much Ateee! I hope to see you soon, yes? 😅
How are you? :-)
Picture the phase of the day where the sky is breaking from darkness. Where you know that the sun is about rise but you can’t see it anywhere just yet. When the sky slowly turns lighter and you see the ombre effect; what I personally find to be the most beautiful and calming scene.
That phase, somewhere between night and day; when the dawn is breaking. That’s how I am. That’s where I’m at right now. I’m happy again; and I feel that everyday. I shrug the negativity instantly. And if it ever gets through me, I can manage to pull myself together after feeling all crappy. But I’m still waiting to feel everything so deeply. I’m still recovering from the darkness.. slowly breaking into the full light of the day.
Well that was a cheesy answer. Lol. Blame it to the trip on the way to Zambales when I was sitting by the window and I did nothing but to watch the day slowly break. Hehe. Thank you for asking, how about you? :-)
If you ever see this
DISCLAIMER: I got the idea of this post/tag (if it ever becomes a thing on my blog; which I think it will be) from the-other-Kat, where she basically write notes or bits and pieces, as she calls it, to a few people. Hehe. Hi Kat! :-)
I don’t know if it was the conversation that we had on the night 2 days before you left, or it’s just the fact that you’re away and you feel homesick and maybe I serve as an anchor from your life back here but thank you. Thank you for being back to the version of yourself that I am fond of.
We haven’t spoken for 5 days now after being so close all of a sudden. I hope you’re doing fine since you told me something quite disturbing about yourself. I hope you still haven’t given up and I hope that you find things worthy to hold on to real soon.
Whatever you told us seems SO surreal. And I know that you are probably on the lowest of lows right now. But I still believe that with God, nothing is impossible. Please don’t lose hope. Nobody, not even a doctor, can tell you when it’s about to end. They told Stephen Hawking when he was 21 that he only had 2 years to live yet he is still alive today, at 73 years old. We are praying for you and we are here for you, for better or for worse; in sickness and in health. Please don’t let their words consume you. Don’t let it consume you.
Thank you for being on the go whenever I ask you to accompany me for a while. I’m sorry for not giving you back the amount of attention that you are giving me. I’m sorry for not tolerating your self-inflicting sadness but it’s not because I don’t care. Trust me, I do. I care enough to help you carry your sadness by yourself. I care enough to teach you that at the end of the day, only you can help yourself.
I’m slowly seeing what he meant when he said that. Maybe you are. I can see pieces of it one by one. It’s terrifying that maybe you aren’t as genuine as I thought you were.
It seems like you and him are not in good terms AGAIN. Don’t hesitate to tell us, or me. Don’t think that we had enough. We’re always here for you, I know I am.
I thought you were a snob at first. But it turned out that you were all friendly and clingy. Thank you for introducing me to your friends. Thank you for telling me that you’re comfortable around me. Thank you for going back inside all by yourself just to hug me and say goodbye. I hope to see you soon!
Thank you for being so kind and offering help when I was asking someone who sat beside you to do me a favor and he didn’t hear; thank you for extending your hand. Thank you for staying when I tied my shoelaces and our group kept walking. Thank you for being so kind and all; I wish I could adopt you as a little brother. Haha.
Thank you for accompanying me every time I ask you to. Thank you for offering me whatever you have. You’re a kind-hearted kid, I can feel that. But you’re also timid. I look forward to seeing you break your walls and go out of your box.
I heard you changed. I miss you.
Dear Self,
Whenever you feel crappy again, please be reminded of the things you did for the past 3 days that are worthy to pat yourself for. Like...
Forgiving your friend and giving him a 3rd chance, without being cold
Talking to him straight up which started rough by telling him why you’re pissed at him but ended up with you and him being okay again - your real goal
Being the most punctual kid for a change
Being genuinely close friends with Harold and Renz, your competitors last SSC election, which seem odd to others (and you don’t know why)
Making a friend feel better
Making someone’s day by telling them what you think about them
Being randomly told “Pero kapuri-puri si Kat eh. Parang ginalingan nung iba dahil sa’yo. So proud.” and receiving second motions to that.
Being told that you have a unique speaking voice
Being told that you have a good singing voice
Attempting to just ease Edu and Tricia’s dizziness on the ride home from Zambales, where according to them, you succeed at
Getting almost everyone to sing along to your corny songs, raps, and decent songs
Pioneering the super loud and fun jamming and rip-off[ish] on the way home that lasted for an hour or two
Making new friends with people whose faces and names are both familiar and unfamiliar
For not being such a bitch even if someone deserves to be treated that way
Controlling your temper and not backfiring on her
For always receiving “Go Kat!”s and loud claps and/or shouts every time I go in front for the last 3 years now
For not letting all these get inside your head
For finally accepting that maybe I should learn how to credit and pat myself sometimes
For finally understanding that humility does not mean that you should think less of yourself; but of yourself less

BAYANiTAYO: The Association of Youth Organizations
I was at Iba, Zambales for the past 2 days to attend the BayaniTAYO Formation Program at the Ramon Magsaysay Technological University - Main.
We left at 4:30am last May 23, Friday. I was the first one at Mcdo at 3:05am (huh punctuality at its finest ahem) and I cannot tell you how energetic the vibes was at Mcdo at that time of the day: upbeat songs and loud crews (in a good way). It was cute and all that.
It took us 4-5 hours to get to the venue and I only had an hour of sleep but it was worth it.
Day 1. We met other participants through Speed Dating and groupings where we did the activities together with our group. I was in group 10 and we called ourselves MAGI10 (Magiting). My favorite group mate is Ate Elaine Reyes from University of Assumption CSC, an incoming 4th year engineering student. The sharing part was fun – it was nice to hear my group mates’ stories and be inspired, relate to and learn from it. We had facilitators per group to further guide. I can say that the activities were thought of thoroughly. We had TAYO Night (the usual Cultural Night of seminars) where the 9 groups performed and out of all the Cultural Nights that I witnessed, this one wasn’t one of those waley and boring ones. Hahaha. And the host/chairman, Kuya Chan, totally blew us all off with his performances. Hahaha! TAYO night? More like Tony night. Lol. Super fun, really really.
Day 2. This day was more physical. Lol. The morning ritual at the field tho! Hahahaha. The next activity was Kwentuhan with Ate Helen, Kuya Gil and Kuya Jeff where they shared their experiences and gave us advices and guidance on how to become effective leaders and inspired us with their own stories. After that, we were given 5 minutes to prepare for the Bayanihan (trail/amazing race-ish). Every station, like the activities, was all sensible and thought of thoroughly. We were asked of our reflections from the challenges that we did. We started at 11:30am and ended at 2:30pm. We only finished 8 stations out of 9 because everyone was called to have our lunch – boodle fight style. After lunch, all 94 of us delegates + facilitators were called to group on the field of RMTU to have our historic batch photo and video – under the scorching heat of the sun. Hahaha. We were given an hour to clean off and pack up before going back to the hall where we had the over-all reflection of the whole formation, awarding of certificates and the champion for the Bayanihan Challenge (And guess what? Our team was held champion for the Bayanihan Challenge! Ha. We totally did not expect that one. No one even shouted our team when the MC asked us who we think won) and closing remarks. Everyone was all clingy and asked for extension because it was super fun like that. Hahaha. Lots of new friendships were made considering that all of us came from different schools and we have no idea when we will see each other again. We exchanged numbers and took lots of pictures that took an hour or two.
The formation in general is hands down one of the best that I attended so far, considering that this was just their first one. It was organized and never dull. Everyone was attentive and eager to learn. I may or may not even just have had the best 2 days so far for 2015. Kudos to the officers and ambassadors of BayaniTAYO, you have awakened us and inspired all of us to serve for a better Central Luzon. I am personally looking forward for the activities to come.
Are you inlove right now?
I don't think so hahaha
Under the lamppost back on sixth street
Loud booming sound.
Then the power came off.
My mom’s initial reaction was to lock up. Then she [all panicky] called our neighbors and the 5th person told her that a transformer blew off in front of their house (which was just 2 houses away) so that calmed her down. And it led to unlocking the doors and going outside.
It was nice to go outside for a change and interact with our neighbors. Almost everyone was out and that rarely happens around here. Haha. My sisters and I always go outside whenever the power’s out at night, though. We used to sit on the hood of our car and gaze at the stars and tell stories. But that was years ago when my oldest sister was still here. The last time I remember we did that was when Bagyong Santi left Tarlac powerless for a whole solid week. And tonight I saw the stars again! It was like I was thrown back to those days, no kidding! It was really nice. Nostalgic feels, yes sir!
And I saw a firefly flying over!! It reminded me of the firefly from Disney’s Princess and the Frog. Haha. Plus the star that he adores so much.
The power came back 30 minutes after thanks to TEI’s (not Tarelco, according to my friend, Ruz) fast response. Huzzah! :--)
It was so nice to keep my hands off technology (except my phone because text hehe) for a while and appreciate the beauty of the night despite the danger lurking over.
You’re leaving.
And so are you.
And I can’t even find it in me to write about the both of you without having this heavy feeling inside my chest.
I can’t. Not now.
3 days left and you’ll be gone in 5 months - this I can tolerate
More than 2 months left and you’ll be gone in 4 years - this.. I don’t even know
Hi Ate! Just wanted to ask how you digitize your works? :( Love your work btw <3

You used to believe that monsters lived in your closets or under your bed but later on you learn that monsters, in fact, live in their own homes and go to school or work. You used to believe that they had thorns, claws and wore ratty clothes where in fact they look humans - because they are.Believing that a monster lives in the persona of another is one thing that you can’t control. But discovering that a monster lives within you… maybe you should be scared.
I know a girl who once had a monster inside of her. She used to be optimistic, a people person, felt everything so deeply and and she glowed so bright. Even though she was engulfed in the darkness, she still shone like the second star to the right of the moon. She would smile at strangers, initiate a conversation with a familiar face, greet and smile at the guards and staffs, pick the fallen handkerchief of the lady at church and offer it back, and always gave her thanks.
And then everything around her suddenly fell in chaos all at once. Not knowing what to do, she hid in her closet to obstruct the chaos. She chose to not care, thinking it would go away on its own. Little did she know that there was a monster growing inside of her and she was unconsciously letting it feed on her. Until one day she started walking with her head bowed down; not bothering to look around her and smile at strangers or look for familiar faces and of fallen handkerchiefs and forgot every once in a while to say her thanks. She no longer glowed so bright until she deteriorated and no longer glowed at all. For almost a year she was numb and lost interest in her once upon a time interests and she even became afraid of people; thinking they were the monsters.
And then one day she realized she lost her old self and strived to dig deep within her and pull her old self back. But what she found was not her old self but the monster because there’s no such thing as an “old self” because it was still her. It wasn’t an easy process to fight the monster off. But with patience and the desire to spark the lost fire once again, she managed to control her emotions and reasoning until she fought the monster off - until it no longer fed on her optimism and beliefs. She started seeing greener grass instead of withered ones, she heard the birds singing her songs, and she saw the light at the end of the labyrinth.
She started glowing again.
I started glowing again. :-)
Who was bored?? *points to self*
The alien’s too cute for my life. Okay? Okay.
