Got a chance to visit Göttingen for a talk. Observatory and workplace of Carl Friedrich Gauß.
春(はる)はあけぼの。 やうやう白(しろ)くなりゆく山際(やまぎわ)、 少(すこ)しあかりて、 紫(むらさき)だちたる雲(くも)の 細(ほそ)くたなびきたる。 In spring, it is the dawn. As the light gradually brightens the mountain edge, slightly glowing - with slender trails of clouds tinted faintly purple.

This year’s Kagi supporter swag. Maybe the package left a bit of brightness in the day of whoever handled it on its way from the US ;)
Fingers crossed they will manage to stay good - particularly their AI features (webpage summaries, quick answers, Kagi News & Assistant) are quite useful.

result of a close-to-Leipzig upbringing + a sister 9 years older who drilled me on 80s culture ;)
Berlin's new Samurai Museum kind of appeared out of nowhere, but it turns out it's actually legit.. and very good. It's built from a private collection, and every item feels hand-selected with deep love for detail and genuine respect for Japanese craft. I probably spent one hour with the sword guards alone (tsuba; it's its own art form). Also appreciated the well-placed interactive bits and the many Inari messengers 🦊 It honestly rivals some museums in Japan..
Mana designed a tarot deck (n = 22) together with visual kei artists during the pandemic. Also has a guidebook with more photos and descriptions. I had been listening quite a bit to Malice Mizer during school (…to anything you could get hold of in Europe in the 2000s). Their work quietly appeared on streaming services this year.. still fascinating and unique, and apparently for many out there :) I had the lucky opportunity to see Mana live once during WGT 2006 with Moi Dix Mois; they headlined late at night after Deine Lakaien.
