PB Writer #1 : Alright, team, what’s the book’s status?
PB Writer #2 : Could be better. The gays are revolting, Boss
PB Writer #1 : Do we have a plan?

SABINA IS A CONFIRMED LESBIAN. I LEGIT THINK I’M GOING TO CRY.
hey @ choices fans, i know there are some people upset about the latest book being described as “a bad boy romance” and worrying that it’ll therefore be exclusionary of lgbt players - i myself am not privy to the decisions that went into the naming of this book, but, a) virtually every single book choices has released to date includes extensive, complex gay romance options, and given this track record, it’s… odd to me that people are immediately jumping to the assumption that lgbt players will be excluded? and b) in the books i write for, lgbt inclusion is a top priority from the editorial level down, and there are more books with more lgbt love interests on the way. i bring my experiences as a queer person to the scripts i write and i’m definitely not the only queer person on staff. deep breaths.
Considering that so many queer girls have had multiple experiences with their female LIs being paywalled or disappearing for chapters at a time (ex. Shreya & Aster & Asha) and having a 3-to-1 ratio for female LIs (ex. Hana & Annabelle), is it really that surprising that people are worried?
Like, sure there have been options for queer players, but it’s more about quality, not quantity.
ANY book focused on a male li is worrying. Books like love hacks, like trr, where the male li is the centre of atention, results in female love interests taking back seats. This new book seems to be focused around "a bad boy", and even if were not romancing them the story will revolve around him. It's scary.
Like…including LGBT characters is fine. But if the writing for them suffers because cis!Male LIs (and by extension straight couples) get top priority, simply having LGBT characters isn’t enough.
The writing for Annabelle, for example, is amazing. She’s a wonderful character and she gets an awesome amount of time in the series. If every female LI was given the amount of time and effort that Annabelle received, a lot of WLW would appreciate it.
You’re the realest in the fandom, keep spilling the tea, sis
