insane lore to drop on the final chapter.
I don't even fw 7B that much anymore but sometimes I see really silly takes about it and get the urge to be like "well actually 🤓☝️"
7B’s contest hosted by Langley 🥰

it's sooo sad to see that all the 7b antis ended up being right in the end 😭i defended the fuck outta this book - because while it was contemporary, it actually had a very interesting plot with several interconnecting themes and subplots. but now it's turned into "the summer i turned my first two loves to all the boys pretty." its cartoonishness would almost be funny if it wasn't so sad. sure, sometimes the story read as both intro feminism and capitalism for dummies, but there was heart to it, and jaynie's struggles to rectify the realities of her life as someone who's working class with the absurd excess of her ultra-rich housemates AND the goddamn "fbi" breathing down her back was compelling. now it's turned into some rosewood pride bullshit sprinkled with teeeeny tiny bits of a half-assed class war happening in the backrgound between her classes, parties, and spontaneous get-aways plus chewing on the stale leftovers of romantic scenes you get with your LI if it isn't james. such a fucking waste of potential, i've NEVERRR seen a story, especially of langley's deteriorate this badly
hello diva i fondly remember you from the tag as one of the very few sane people in this fandom
all these people coming out of the woodwork (again) to be like i 🤓☝️ knew 7b was a flop from the first season like... not quite actually. the only reason you were all seething back then was because none of you can stand a fmc who isn't a blazing corona of strength and fight and witty one liners (but without ever getting upset at their male lis who treat like them a speck of dirt on their shoe), while jaynie made exactly the type of decisions and mistakes a 18 y/o would
Long time no see! I have a lot of unpublished drawings. This gift for @zvonkayatishina is one of them <3

sorry can’t talk i’m too busy romanticizing vampirism
“be gay do crime” mfs when you suggest vandalism/graffiti as a form of protest
i completely understand & agree with the backlash against students using chatgpt to get degrees but some of you are out here saying "getting a degree in xyz means pulling multiple consecutive all-nighters and writing essays through debilitating migraines and having severe back pain from constantly studying at your desk and chugging energy drinks until you get a kidney stone and waking up wishing you were dead every day, and that's just part of the natural process of learning!!!" and like. umm. i don't think that any of us should have had to endure that either. like maybe the solution for stopping students from using anti-learning software depends on college institutions making the process of learning actually sustainable on the human body & mind rather than a grueling health-destroying soul-crushing endeavor

7b is so frustrating to me because of how staunchly langley refuses to commit to the themes she brought up. the underage girl who nearly got sa'd getting an explosive reaction from the rosewood boys (james tracking him down and punching him, logan being horrified) being a tool to prop them up and show just how good they are, as compared to other men in the same demographic. meanwhile, the locker room talk they engage in, how they view women, james' entire existence and all he stands for are brushed off as... what? nothing?
giving up the integrity of your story and catering to lipless, white men fans is nothing new to be disappointed over but ignoring how locker room talk and microaggressions and stereotypes aren't harmless, but rather prop up rape culture and eventually land up there is almost a betrayal to the young girls whose stories she tried to voice through the character of jaynie
babying men old enough to know better (logan being upset about what happened and having an option to have jaynie comfort him? hello? you're 18 this isn't your intro to feminism), making jaynie bootlick them, giving them a poor baby backstory (jasper posting nonconsensual videos of girls online bc he wanted to be useful? are you fucking kidding me), putting their problems over the lives of women being ruined, the senseless demonization of the female characters, gender essentialism, and worst of all: acknowledging that same sex institutions are built on classism and racism and sustained on rape culture and still having jaynie defend it all to service rabid, mindless fans of anything male and white... fucking disgraceful
ngl I hate how male centered this story became to cater to the fandom.
Because, mind you, none of these men (Simon, Avery, James, Jasper) ever gave a single fuck about Jaynie's problems. Like, Jaynie spends the first two seasons trying and failing to balance being a freshman, the fake fbi cohercing to spy on Rosewood, her grandma's health issues, and Carter's addiction . And from seven people in Rosewood with way more resources than her, only two of them sorta take an interest on Jaynie as a person and/or try to help her with her problems. Jasper sells her brother drugs, James treats them horribly.
But suddenly "they're not like the other frat bros", nvm that they literally have multiple scenes discussing their "body count" and acting towards women in very mysoginist ways (and no one but Grant and Tristan comment on it). And suddenly they're better than other men and redeemed because James punched a rapist?? and Jasper is actually just shitty because his parents are just too overbearing??.
PMO that Jaynie has to mother a bunch of guys older than her when they'd neeever reciprocate or have cared about her.
no because this scene was really good
INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE | SEASON 1
fandom's ability to take the interesting characters and turn them into white picket fence bitches will never stop amazing me
nobody:
my brain at 4am: MDMA in the back garden, blow our pupils up, we kissed for hours straight, well, baby, what was that? I remember saying then, "This is the best cigarette of my life". Well, I want you just like that. Indio haze, we're in a sandstorm and it knocks me out. I didn't know then that you'd never be enough, oh. Since l was seventeen, I gave you everything, now we wake from a dream, well, baby, what was that?
