bug fairy character illustration for my last semester in school that i never posted
i came up with a bunch of lore for this character which i thought was pretty cool. this group of fairies has a mutualism-type relationship with an endosymbiont, which is pretty common for insect species. this endosymbiont feeds off the fairies' natural connection to magic and produces necessary nutrients for them to live -- so, like, all the fairies are born with this endosymbiont and need it to be healthy, but since it feeds off of their magic most of them don't have strong magic. but they can isolate some larva or whatever, and through some magic/scientific process create young that don't have this endosymbiont, and those ones have a much stronger magic connection but reduced lifespan/need a constant nutrient feed since they can't create their own. so the society would create a subset of young like that and raise them as a sort of priest class from birth

collage for a different class last semester
monoprint for another class. i was trying to think about the history of objects, all of the hands that touch them before they arrive at their final destination, so i printed on top of the instruction booklets for some of the stuff i bought when i moved into my new apartment. i think this one is the one from my desk?
some fantasy illustrations for another class. the landscape is loosely based on some photos i took while i was visiting family in ireland. i was trying to play around with textures more than i usually do
class again. this was my first time using acrylic. i think it turned out decent for a first try.
another one for class. ink and pencil.
comic i made for my comics workshop class. we made an anthology themed around the title “big egg,” and this was my entry for it.
