Mundari South Sudan The Mundari are Nilotic cattle-herders located roughly 75 kilometres north of Juba, the capital of South Sudan. Cattle are central to Mundari society, serving as food, currency and status symbols. Marriages are arranged by the prospective groom offering cattle to the brideâs family and husbands may take as many wives as they can support. The Mundari engage in perennial cattle raiding wars with the Bor Dinka during the dry season.   Â
They belonged to no one.

Yes itâs a real service. I do volunteer work for a rape crisis support service in my city and texting is one of the features we provide as well. But just to boost its credibility, I tried it myself:

Hi! I wanted to say that your art is really inspiring to me. I want to be a tattoo artist some day, and your designs just have this fluid and natural feeling to them that I aspire to emulate some day. I wanted to ask if you have some kind of technique you use or suggestions for giving my art a more natural look like that? also maybe advice for formatting my designs, since you're just really awesome at that?
Hello! I am so sorry this took me so long to respond to, thank you for your patience.Â
first off, thank you! After seeing your work I think you have a really great style that would work well as a tattoo artist! I really enjoyed it and thank you for sharing.Â
SO my biggest advice is always going to be go back to studying life. I am embarrassed to say I didnât really start cracking down and studying anatomy and form until a few years back, but since i have felt I have improved with leaps and bounds.Â
Studying from life helps you to avoid picking up bad habits of other artist, but also starting to really see the world in a 3D form, and I feel like that sense of form translated into 2D makes all the difference. Tattoo flash art can have a bit of a flat feel, but the way that line wraps around each other to describe a 3D space can be very subtle but still very effective. I think James Tex is an absolute master at that, he has a very traditional tattoo style but if you check out his work it has so much wonderful depth,Â
Studying muscle anatomy really helps to make strong decisions on where you want your flow and contors to appear so it feels correct.Â
sorry this is all of 2 min, but I hope this shows flow occurs naturally. I try to place my lines where they would naturally occur. And knowing where those main lines occur rather then throwing them in willy nilly lets you control the exaggeration you are going while still creating believability
and please please check out proko. If you want someone who has master anatomy and flow and has great teaching videos to boot, heâs your guy
I love this sketch he did, I feel it clearly shows how knowing your anatomy allows you to make a correct flow of form, contor and flow. His stuff is on youtube and REALLY worth checking out. If you are interested in tattoo work learning the flow of our muscles so you know the composition to create your tattoos on will be super helpful
So I hope this sort of helps, I apologies if it isnt more clear. I think the biggest thing I can offer is donât get hung up on style, get hung up on learning the fundamentals so that you can control how you want to exaggerate your piece. You will find movements and flow occurs naturally in both movement and anatomy, once you find that you can use it to push its boundaries and create an image full of life and movement.
Cheers!
