An independent, nonprofit organization that operates two unique community-based public radio stations, KAXE and KBXE. We serve most of north central and northeastern Minnesota with a signal originating in Grand Rapids at 91.7 FM and in Bagley at 90.5 FM. Northern Community Radio also operates translators in Brainerd at 89.9 FM, Bemidji at 105.3 FM and Ely at 103.9 FM.

Northern Community Radio’s album of the week is

Trampled by Turtles Live At First Avenue.

Taken from a three-night stint at First Avenue in Minneapolis back in April, Trampled by Turtles are celebrating 10 years by releasing this live album.

The Live album and DVD are available Tuesday.

New Music with Maddi is weekday afternoons at 3pm and overnight at 4am.
