Review: One word: INCREDIBLE! This was the big one, the end of an era so it was only logical that it would go all out in satisfying our appetite for a grand cinematic masterpiece. As a huge fan of the Marvel, my journey started with the first movie (Iron Man) of the MCU franchise 11 years ago and never would I have guessed that 21 movies later, I would still be here; still equally excited by every MCU movie released in what has been an amazing roller-coaster ride on a wave of cinematic excellence. Endgame was the final chapter and what a final chapter it was. Normally, there is a saying that the higher the expectation for a movie, the higher the probability of it being a disappointment well Marvel has now debunked this myth twice, first with Infinity War and now with Endgame.
Endgame focuses on the events following Thanos’ actions on earth and the effects those actions had on the surviving members of the Avengers. It also centers on the Avengers final plans in undoing the havoc caused by the big bad himself and the restoration of order in a grieving earth. This movie had everything; great acting performances from all the characters, great utilization of CGI’s (safe to say that the MCU has mastered the act of CGI-ing) and an amazing storyline. Endgame was/is an absolute perfection all things superhero movies considered. It was a truly epic and perfect ending to a long journey of marvel movies. There are rarely movie franchises that consistently deliver like the MCU so it was no surprise that Endgame would surpass my expectations.
Endgame more than lived up to the hype: a thrilling conclusion and a deeply emotional exploration of loss and love, duty and honor, friendship and family. I grew up with the marvel universe and I have to say this is the most perfect send-off for the most perfect franchise of all time. My only complaint about Endgame is that it raises the bar so high that there may never be a superhero movie that can match it (although Infinity War comes quite close). Endgame is for me; the best superhero movie I have ever watched. That being said, you know what to do if you haven’t seen it yet.
