My dream catcher
Shinobu x Enmu, inspired by the classic Spiderman kiss. Maybe a future scene in my fic Ambiguity.
Enmu is not the “moaning twink” the fandom turned him into. He’s actually one of the smartest demons we see in Demon Slayer IMO. This is something that always confuses me when I see fan interpretations of Enmu because canon actually shows him as extremely intelligent. People reduce him to the dreamy voice and aesthetic and completely miss the psychological intelligence behind his actions. The best example is his scene with Muzan Kibutsuji. When Muzan summons the Lower Moons, every other demon does exactly what you’d expect: they panic. They apologize. They beg for their lives. They make excuses. Enmu does none of that. Instead, he praises Muzan’s cruelty. He doesn’t plead for mercy. He admires Muzan’s ruthlessness and says that his merciless nature is beautiful. And that’s the exact response that saves him. Because Enmu immediately understands something the other demons don’t: Muzan despises weakness. Muzan despises excuses. Muzan values absolute loyalty and admiration. So Enmu mirrors Muzan’s worldview right back at him. That’s not fear. That’s psychological intelligence. He reads Muzan in seconds and responds in a way that aligns perfectly with Muzan’s ego and ideology. And it works. Not only does Muzan spare him, he gives him more blood and power. That is not the behavior of a weak or submissive character. That is someone who understands power dynamics extremely well. Another thing people gloss over is that Enmu’s abilities themselves require intelligence. His Blood Demon Art isn’t brute force. It’s dreams. Dreams require: understanding emotions understanding subconscious desires exploiting psychological vulnerabilities When he attacks people on the Mugen Train, he doesn’t just fight them physically. He studies their minds and builds illusions tailored to their deepest emotional weaknesses. Even the way he recruits the train workers shows this. He preys on their exhaustion, their desperation for sleep, their emotional vulnerabilities. He offers them relief in exchange for service. He understands people. That’s his real strength. Honestly, I think the fandom misses this because his voice and demeanor are soft and dreamy, so people interpret that as submissive or weak. But that softness is strategic It’s part of how he manipulates people. Enmu isn’t physically intimidating like Kokushibo, and he isn’t socially overwhelming like Douma His danger comes from something quieter. He watches. He listens. He figures out what people want. And then he uses it. That’s why he’s interesting. Not because he’s a “twink villain,” but because he’s a psychological predator who understands people far better than they understand him.
I know he doesn't have a girlfriend but I think he deserves one.
