The Kayfield Apiary has grown and continues to grow to produce our honey for our Kayfield Academy friends. When we started it last year, I did not want to take any of the surplus honey away from the first year bees. With the crazy winter that we had, I was very happy with that decision. The late cold snap killed hundreds of hives in KY. Our bees weathered the storm just fine! We now have 4 working hives with another 4 on the way. This fall we should have some wonderful allergy reducing honey available for all our friends. And just as important, our orchard will be pollinated by our bees so the honey will come form organic pollen. I use no pesticides on the trees. So organic fruit and organic honey for all our friends at our three locations.
Spring! The Kayfield Apiary has grown and continues to grow to produce our honey for our Kayfield Academy friends.

Well you saw all the money we raised to help our Preemie friends, well, we just couldn’t let our other friends who were at Norton Children’s Hospital have a sad Valentines Day. Our kids decided to take it upon themselves to make Valentines Day cards for everyone stuck in a bed. We had so much fun that we have decided to do this as an event every year and spread a little cheer. 🙂

So everyone know how much we love to help the community. We feel its an honor and a privilege to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. That is why we partnered with Norton Children’s Hospital with its Piggies for Preemies fundraiser. Our good friend Courtney came by to pick up and amazing donation from all our kids (and their parents, Thank You!) We should have the total amount tabulated in the next few weeks but for only gathering change for about a month, we may need a heavy duty truck to take it to the bank!
Our Amazing Kids (and Parents !) So everyone know how much we love to help the community. We feel its an honor and a privilege to be a part of something bigger than ourselves.
A very special day for Kayfield Academy. We are officially starting our Piggies for Preemies program and partnering with Norton;s Children’s Hospital on raising money for the premature babies in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). We were fortunate to have Courtney Puckett come out to our schools and speak to our kids and tell them all about this wonderful cause!

This past weekend was the culmination of months of hard work by dedicated kids, teachers and parents. We thank you for allowing us to share how special Kayfield Academy is with the community. Here are just a few of the many pictures (some faces blurred) of how we reached out and gave back.
Kayfield Academy Nelson Miller went to multiple senior citizen facilities to sing Christmas carols and bring holiday cheer to many unsung heroes.
Kayfield Academy 6 mile had their traditional Christmas play with the theme “Christmas around the world”. It was a packet high school auditorium so, we will definitely need to get a much bigger venue.
Next year we will combine our families and do even more out reach to the community. We will be visiting those who need a cheering up this time of the year (and other times of the year) and those who families are unable to spread glad tidings to their elder relatives. Next year we will also have a combined Kayfield Academy Christmas show with all the schools joining together to showcase our many talented kids.
This is who we are and what we bring to the community. Our schools are not just a buildings or learning institutions. They do not just teach the fundamentals in an exceptional way. They teach what we believe it is to be a good person, to be empathetic, to reach out and bring joy to those around us and to take care of those less fortunate.
Amazing Kids, Amazing Parents, Amazing Communities This past weekend was the culmination of months of hard work by dedicated kids, teachers and parents.
One of the things that makes me the most proud of Kayfield Academy is not just what we teach the kids in the classroom but what we do outside in the community. Our teachers and directors exemplify what we stand for by sacrificing their own time to bring to the community the spirit of giving and sharing. This year, Kayfield Academy has taken upon itself to help Operations Military Cheer in donating to those family’s who have members serving overseas and across the country and who could not be here to celebrate Christmas. Every child deserves something special this season and we are making sure we do our part!
The real unsung heroes (excluding Santa) are the Kayfield Academy directors and staff members. My thanks goes to them for making this event such a spectacular success and dedicating countless hours organizing and purchasing everything for these families.
Helping the community is part of what we teach at Kayfield Academy and one of the things that makes me so proud.
Again, thank you all for helping making this a wonderful success and helping make many families have a very special Christmas.
Operation Military Cheer One of the things that makes me the most proud of Kayfield Academy is not just what we teach the kids in the classroom but what we do outside in the community.
Look who stopped by this weekend!
While our amazing kids were singing their hearts out this weekend, Santa stopped by to help us out with our Operation Military Cheer. We want to show our love for those who make so many sacrifices for us during this time of the year by giving back.
