Ponyboy Curtis.. with a crush?

synopsis: a collection of headcanons on how dearest Ponyboy would be when he has a crush on you!

a/n: first posted work kinda nervy... i had no idea what to write about but pony is my fav character oat so yk i had to start my page with the absolute goat. on that note tho pls send in requests ik im new but like ya girl wants to write BAD

જ⁀➴ Pre-dating, you would most likely meet at school. He would initially find interest in you because he believed you stood out from the others. Whether you were a new student, raised your hand for a question when nobody else did, or turned your test in just a little faster than the rest, he would notice. Ponyboy is an observer, and he would notice the little things you did before anyone else.

જ⁀➴ Ponyboy finds interest in people who are different, but in quality ways. He would like those who weren’t exactly quiet, but were never a huge disturbance. Although he is used to loud environments being around the gang, it is also the reason why he finds quiet moments to be so meaningful.

જ⁀➴ Therefore, being with someone who he could share laughs with and go to the movie house together would also be the same person who he could sit in silence and watch the sunset or stargaze with while having a deep conversation. As much as he likes loud and exciting moments, he finds comfort and solace in the idea that he can be vulnerable, too!

જ⁀➴ He doesn’t care much about looks at all. Of course, being conventionally attractive would be a huge bonus, but it isn’t something he prioritizes in a partner (which is most likely a huge part of the reason he never found much interest in girls! He never really was given the opportunity to speak to someone on a deeper level other than Soda or Johnny until Cherry).

જ⁀➴ Pony looks out for personality the most. He would love someone who is understanding and kind, but also someone who is strong-spirited and can stand up for themselves when needed. 

જ⁀➴ Does everything in his power to prevent the gang from finding out that he likes you. He knows that if they find out it's just going to become a teasing mess. He also doesn't want anyone to make you uncomfortable, especially his own friends, so he tries his best to keep the both of you separate until you actually begin dating.

જ⁀➴ Expect lots of awkward staring or side glances when he has a crush. When he likes someone, he’s all for them 100% (he learned from the best, SODA), and one of the only ways he can really release how much he likes you is by.. Looking. But he has completely pure intentions, so it’s never in a weird way!

જ⁀➴ Another way he would express how he likes you is through writing! He would write countless poems about you.. you’re basically his muse. He would write about you any chance he gets, whether it's by making you a character in a narrative assignment or doing icebreakers about how his summer break went.

જ⁀➴ If you two magically ended up being partners for a project and he needed to write both your names down on a poster board, he would "accidentally" almost write your first name with his last name. He managed to erase it before you got the chance to notice, though.

જ⁀➴ He would also draw you in the corners of his worksheets whenever he felt unmotivated. If he doesn't feel like doing something, he'll reframe it as a way to impress you (ex. if he felt like procrastinating his math homework till later instead of a few days before its due, he would end up thinking about a scenario where you asked him how to solve a problem and he would be able to look cool and help you since he already finished it), and all of sudden he has energy to do everything.. huh.

જ⁀➴ Lives, breathes, and thrives off of accidental touches. The hallway is a little more crowded than usual and you brush shoulders? He's losing it internally. In the lunch line and you both reach for the same thing at the same time so your fingers accidentally brush? He replays it for the rest of the day. Especially if there's a little giggle and a "Sorry, Ponyboy!" from you? Yeah, the sound of your voice has lived rent free in his head all week, and it doesn't make it any better that he sees you Monday through Friday at school every week.

જ⁀➴ Would absolutely 110% consider writing love letters to you, but would bail out once they were already finished before sending them either out of embarrassment or nerves (probably both). He's a little insecure and hates being picked on, so he wouldn't want to put himself in a spot to be laughed at because he was rejected or did something sappy for his crush. However, if he did manage to send a letter (after decades of hyping himself up), he probably wouldn't even put his name on it, playing into the secret admirer trope.

જ⁀➴ Considering this, don’t be surprised if you just so happened to find out about his completely-obvious-but-top-secret feelings for you through his works. Either he would ask you out through a letter (gaining the confidence to put his name on it), or you would find one of his pieces before he got the chance. He would be a nervous mess in either situation, mostly expecting a pitiful "i don't feel the same way," but who would ever reject him?

જ⁀➴ At the end of the day, Ponyboy would like you for you, even the parts that you may not have noticed about yourself. He may not be the loudest about his feelings or the most affectionate of the bunch, but his feelings are still soso present. But because of this, you know that there is hardly anything anyone could do to deter the way he feels about you.

hello hello beauties! of course, every blog has to have their rules, so here are some of mine! it is completely possible that some of these may change in the future, but i will update if they do!

General:

જ⁀➴ i do not support any form of discrimination. this includes racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. as a woman of color who also has family and friends who may be apart of wonderful communities such as lgptq+, i refuse to tolerate any form of hate towards any community.

જ⁀➴ please be kind! everyone learned from a young age to treat others the way you would like to be treated. if you see something you do not like on this page, feel free to click off or block and not spread meaningless negativity towards me or others. nobody deserves to be mistreated.

જ⁀➴ be respectful when it comes to my posting schedule. life happens, and obviously not every request will come through immediately (although i will try my hardest to make sure things get posted at a reasonable time). as i said, i am a student first, and my mental comes before anything. i am also new to tumblr, so please be considerate!

Asks/Requests:

જ⁀➴ as of right now, i do not write any smut. Depending on the request, i may write something slightly suggestive, but that won't always be the case. this is solely because i do not feel as though i am at my best writing capabilities, especially not in that category. in the future, i may inch towards that region, but as of right now it is just not something i'm interested in writing for. please remember that i have the right to not fulfill requests if i do not feel comfortable with them.

જ⁀➴ if there are any questions or requests, i would highly prefer for them to be sent in through my ask page rather than through the comments. i'm more likely to get to them faster and it's just overall more efficient. when it comes to simple comments, however, it doesn't matter much to me whether they are actually commented on a post or sent through my ask page. i appreciate whatever feedback is given, and do my best to respond to everyone!

જ⁀➴ i'm sure many have noticed that two-bit matthews and steve randle are not in my masterlist as of now. that is because i am currently trying to learn more and understand their characters more. i would hate to write about a character and give a completely inaccurate portrayal of them, so i would prefer to just wait until i am confident in my ability to write for their characters effectively. as time progresses, i am sure that they will eventually be an option for you all to request writing for.

if you ever doubt that your ao3 comments matter or mean something: i have been struggling with my writing for 6 months straight, crying myself to sleep afraid that i will never be able to write again, that the thing i love most in the world has left me, that my writing is just gone

Intro ! — ᨳଓ .

hello hello beauties! although i go by kaylicita, feel free to just call me kay!

im supersuper interested in the outsiders atm, and have been for such a long time. i love reading the book and watching the movie, but most of all, i love seeing all of the media that is presented by this wonderful community of people on all platforms! because of this, i have decided to put both my writing and understanding of the characters to the test by adding my own contributions to the fandom!

although this blog will likely tremendously expand into more than just one of my interests, i would love to start off here, combining two of the many things i love the most. i hope to post something new at least once a week, but don't hold me to it, as i am an honorary student first.

as i continue to create and evolve this wonderful blog, i hope many of you can enjoy, read, and even cast your own input, too! feel free to ask any questions or send in any requests <3!
