A few dev notes

The Silverdown guild is a merchant/messenger guild, established roughly ~100 years ago, or at least enough for there to be 3 generations in between the founding members and the modern day ones

Ari is from House Columba, one of the founding families. It’s a pretty big one and theyre not particularly close with anyone

Silverdown has a lot of hybrid members, since in the earlier days marriages would be arranged to get alliances/expand reach

I realized halfway through designing that the bangs and split cloak were things i used for leon’s design back in isat au….oops lmao

Chorus is sort of like the analogous “chat” whereas Hermes is just minecraft horse

Speaking of: Chprus isnamed after the greek chorus, Hermes is the greek messenger god

Hypnocolumba: hypno=sleep, columba=latin for dove/pigeon

Ariael Mercury is another allusion to messenger gods, this time…mercury. But also the element mercury can be called quicksilver which still fits into the ariael naming trend of using colors

Im not going to lie, they’re a little bit of a cringefail but as long as you pay them they’ll at least try to do their best

A courier from the Silverdown Guild who was dispatched to try and establish a branch office in the region after the last attempt failed 40-some years ago.

They really just wanted to stay the manager of their little town office and have a peaceful 9-5 paycheck, but the guild decided to try their luck in the bannerfall lamds once more and they got sent to do the work.

Could not care less about the red v blue conflict, but tries to present themselves as a neutral party to try and profit off of both sides

Born from one of the founding families of the guild (so theyre kind of a nepo baby)

Avian hybrid, specifically pigeon ^-^ they also trained their own courier pigeon named Chorus but the evil and intimidating bird likes to bully them a lot

They also have a horse called hermes who is a lot nicer and reliable ^-^

Please leave them out of any fighting, they are just a messenger who wants to get paid and go home they are a non combatant!

Anyways they do know how to use swords and bows to keep themselves alive

More vampire smp designs but this time i made the stage 3 designs

Crim!Ari: Stage 3 is based off of Madam Ravendream’s outfit, really emulating that sorcerer/witch of the night aesthetic that the townsfolk love to latch onto as evidence that the creepy apothecary needs to be kicked out lmao. They wouldn’t turn into a vamp early on bc strategically its better to keep a blood bag around on the vamp side so theyd only get turned in an emergency or if a fledgling accidentally did it while feeding. Ironically, since vampirism enhances emotions and they have severely numbed feelings, they actually feel more alive and happy as a vampire than they did as a human. They also constantly felt hungry(psychological) but had no actual way to solve it, whereas as a vamp their hunger for blood is physical so it’s actually solvable. This is also why theyre pretty slow to reach stage 3 and frequently go down levels due to being so used to tuning out the feeling of being hungry that they just. Forget.

Burg!Ari: Stage 3 dress was a present from their sire, it was what they wore in their prime. Stage 1 outfit is mourning garb. They would try to blend in for about 3 days, after which everyone understandably outs them as Not Normal, and they speedrun their way to stage 3. At stage 3 they’re actually more stable and actually open to conversation. They are very good at drawing memories and deciphering them from blood, even by vampire standards, and the memories of others seem to help them maintain lucidity. They also paint, and especially enjoy painting their coven, as vampires can’t use mirrors and it’s a good way for the others to know what they look like. Very willing to give up food/blood/let fledglings siphon from them over feeding themselves, the good of the coven comes first.

Both Crimson and Burgundy like singing as they move through the forest or when they hunt, which has the side effect of creeping out any humans that go near the woods(especially once they can go invisible and turn into a bat).

Also yes they’re canonically immigrants from a foreign country welcome to Kayo’s blog where they never shut up about being Chinese

Starting vampire

Cover story: "Uh...came looking for a missing friend...?"

Born in a neglectful family. They were attacked by a coven one day and asked to join as a vampire instead of running in fear, as they wanted a place to belong. After becoming a fledgling, they traveled with their coven across the continent. However, an army eventually rose to counter them, and the entire coven was staked save for Ariael. They went a little insane over it and sought to turn as many humans as possible to regrow the coven. Oakhurst was their last attempt to do so before the townsfolk began uprising staked them(in the shoulder, not the chest). With such an injury, the coven scattering, and the humans dying from battle, Ariael entered dormancy to heal both the mental and physical wounds, waking when people started approaching the land again.

Pretty much delusional and monophobic. Has a very hard time blending in and frankly kind of doesn't have the ability to comprehend how to(at stage 1, at least).

Coven-vampires=empty coven=lonely. Coven+vampires=full coven=not lonely.

Reasoning with them is an exercise in futility(at stage 1), would you reason with a storm to not blow through?

Self-pitying and prone to wallowing in their sorrows.

Stage 1 outfit consists of mourning clothes.

Ariael Ravendream(rah-ven-drem)

Codename: Ariael-Crimson

Starting human

A traveling apothecary who was chased out by the previous town and came to Oakhurst to try and restock.

Formerly the apprentice of Madam Ravendream. They were picked up by her as an infant and traveled across the continent with her. When they reached the country Oakhurst was in, they stopped at a town that was being attacked by "demons". They both stayed and helped on a whim, but the villagers eventually suspected them of being witches. Madam Ravendream was burnt at the stake, Ariael only escaping because they were on an herb collecting errand. They fled to several other towns and villages, even helping them through whatever issues they had at the moment, but was eventually driven out each time due to similar accusations and rumors carried over from previous towns.

Harbors an intense hunger for experiences and companionship. After so long of seeing humans drive out "monsters", they crave a different ending.

Will always side with vampires, giving them blood, breeding livestock, gathering silver, etc. Unwilling to help the side of humanity after their past.

Extremely self-destructive. They do not care if they get killed or turn into a vampire; just that the conclusion of Oakhurst is different from previous experiences.

Happy Lunar New Year 2025!!! Year of the Snake here we goooooo

Last year I only did Huaixin and Lychee so this year I had to throw some love to Wakaba and Chenyin ^-^ all my lil cribblers have two lunar new year drawings now yippee

Got a lil stuck on ideas though so i wanted to focus more on colors instead, mostly cuz i feel like ive been sticking to only one or two shades for lighting and shading so this time i wanna branch out more
