"No no! Its okay, I mean, its better to talk to someone about this then to keep it all bottled up inside. And I can totally help you with this boy stuff!" She had given out advice before, and she was in a relationship, so she figured she knew what she was talking about. Mostly.
"Well, you should talk to him. Tell him you need time to sort out your feelings, since it seems you’re all flustered because he’s moving faster then you expected him too."
"Thank you." She still felt bad for making Lorna listen to all this crap, but it wasn't as if she actually had a choice. The only other girl who would've listened to her was Sayoko, but Hina was already feeling terrible for neglecting her friend for so long so she didn't want to burden her with this the moment she saw her. "I-I'll try to talk to him, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to fail. I can't seem to do anything right when he's around. But I'll try."
Stares at her friend in surprise when she begins laughing. “I don’t have a problem with it. I like when you’re close—…” Automatically paused when a question was thrown towards her, “Ah…n-nothing new happened. The Fourth received a new Captain.”
"How is that nothing new? Getting a new captain is a big deal, silly. So..." Crosses her arms across her chest before doing what she always liked to do — make her friend talk. "Who is he? What's he like? Do you like him? Is he a good leader? Spill."
"Right, right.
Well what makes it complicated? Do you not like him the same way? If that’s the case, I’m sure if you talked to him it he would be okay with it all and you two could still be friends.”
"I do like him, it's just—Well, I don't know if I like him the same way he likes me. I guess. I don't know. I want to say that this is all too sudden but it's not. I've been aware of his intentions since day one, I'm just now trying to deal with it. It's confusing because the moment I saw him my first instinct was to run away. Run as fast as I can. And now—" Overanalyzing much, Hina? "I'm sorry, Lorna. I'm bothering you with this stuff and I didn't mean to... "
"Well that’s nice that you got a Valentine! But what makes it so complicated. Whoever the guy was, he probably sent it because he likes you, and there’s nothing bad about that.
Unless he’s a creep. He isn’t a creep is he?”
"I know, b-but... I just don't know what to do. It's complicated, in a way. And no, he isn't a creep. If he was, I wouldn't be so confused about all this. I would've just punched the bastard, you know?"
Is completely startled to be tackled by the other, stumbling back a few steps at the force, “H-Hina…”
"You’re close."
"Yes I am. Gotta problem with that?" Feigns seriousness, brows furrowing slightly, before she finally gave up and laughed, backing away. Hina wasn't actually in a great mood, but seeing her friend after so long did manage to distract her from her daily crap. "Now, what did I miss? Tell me. And remember, I can tell when you're lying."
Waves at Hina.
"Sayoko!" Doesn't waste time waving but simply tackle hugs the other, not caring that they were in public. "There you are~"
Nobody knows why Nobody knows how and This feeling begins just like a spark Tossing and turning inside of your heart Exploding in the dark.
"Did something happen? You didn’t get a prank Valentine did you? I know the guys around here can be idiots but I didn’t think they’d be that childish…"
"Not really. I mean, I did get a Valentine but... I don't know. It's complicated. That man is complicated and I just wish I could ignore it all and go back to work. But I can't so—" Has already told Lorna too much and will just try hide her blush with her hands now.
"Lots of work in your division? Or just a long day in general?"
"Both, I guess. Work's been piling up ever since I came back from my last mission and... w-well, this Valentine's Day crap kinda complicated things further."
"Everythin’ okay?"
"Ah, Lorna? Hi. Yeah, everything is fine. I'm just... t-tired."
[/wanted to kill Ichiro today because that was a horrible, horrible gift, but is now too busy freaking out to even care about that idiot.]

Of course a man of man women couldn’t help but pick a special one out and shower in gifts on such a loving holiday, right? Well, you’d be wrong. Caleb used to be a man of many women hanging on his arms, but no, ever since a certain strawberry blonde walked into his life — he couldn’t seem to take his eyes and even heart off of her. She was stunning — not in the way that women he went after were. She was tough, determined and didn’t even have to try to look good. Who knows, maybe that’s how he fell in love —-
Maybe that’s not the right word for someone that wasn’t ready for such feeling — but he was ready for a companion of sorts. If one could call it that. Caleb really didn’t care for labels. Honestly, what was his — was his and there was argument. Hina couldn’t even argue that either. Every part of him wanted her and that wouldn’t even have been a lie on day one. He was so captivated by her beauty, he couldn’t even think of another woman.
So with a note written, a box of candies, an assortment of flowers, roses, an whatever else. Really he didn’t listen to the human flower shop owner as she put the bouquet together. No, what he was really after was a certain necklace. One that looked like a flower, and it was simple — just like her. Everything about her was simple, yet complicated. She was beautiful in ways that Caleb didn’t think possible.
Dear Hina,
I know you didn’t think ya would get anything from me, buuut since I have nothing to do and well I don’t know if you have a date or not. I figured I’d leave this on your desk with one of those fancy romance novels. It’s new and I didn’t think you read it yet. Well I hope you like the gifts. Don’t.. Don’t bring them back, I want you to have them. You deserve something nice for one, love.
Happy Valentines Day.
- C.
In all honestly, he was pretty pleased with himself as he walked away to settle back in his office.
After their last conversation, Hina didn't think giving Calix another gift was such a good idea. It was Valentine's Day and doing something as silly as baking cookies for that man would've probably brought her a great deal of trouble. Trouble she wasn't really ready for, especially not with someone like him. He was probably already swamped with gifts anyway, seeing how many female friends the man had. Hina wasn't sure if they were only friends or something more, and she didn't really want to know. It was his life, his business and she wanted to stay as far as she could from all that.
She certainly didn't think she would get anything from him. Actually, she never even considered it. Which is why she was so confused the moment she stepped into her office, gaze landing on a bouquet of flowers and something else lying beside it. Her first thought was that it had to be a mistake. Someone probably delivered it to the wrong office and she was going to be stuck with finding the person who was actually supposed to receive these gifts.
A terse sigh passed her lips as she dropped the small pile of papers onto the nearest surface and moved closer to her desk. And four things were on it: flowers, book, chocolate and one small box, with a note tucked beside it. Light brows rose the moment she saw that piece of paper and she picked it up, expecting to read an unfamiliar name on it.
Boy, was she wrong.
Blue eyes widened slightly as she read it, at first only catching her name and his initial at the end. It took her more time than usual to read the small paragraph and not because he had a bad handwriting. But when she finally did, she turned her focus to many gifts that still stood untouched on her desk. What caught her attention, however, was a small jewelry box and she quickly picked it up and opened it, inhaling sharply the moment she did so. Thin fingers brushed across the silver flower slowly, as she took in its beauty. Hina always refused to have jewelry, thinking she would've destroy it once she was out training. But the moment she saw his gift she was sure she wanted to risk wearing it and try to keep it as safe as she possibly could.
The present has no weapon Your gifts keeps on giving What is this I'm feelin' If you wanna leave I'm ready, oh Cause we come too far To give up who we are So lets raise the bar And our cups to the stars.
Suddenly appears. Pauses. Stares. Stares for a long, long time before, "Wow. You're actually really pretty." Coughs, because that was inappropriate and not something one should say to a stranger. "Anyway, Happy Valentine's Day. Here." Leaves a box of chocolate on her desk and leaves, very quickly.
Stops midway through writing and stares at the intruder, blinks obliviously at the comment and nods in thanks. Her eyes go to the chocolates left on her desk and she shrugs, dropping her pen and opening the box, digging straight in.Doesn’t matter that it was from a stranger.Free chocolate.
