The picture on the right was taken at my Sweet 16 when I weighed my heaviest at 170 lbs at probably 32-34 % bf, the picture on the right is 2 years later after a long and steady journey of becoming a healthy, fit me.
In the past 2 and a half years I discovered myself as a person and learned how I have a very strong sense of discipline and I love to work hard. I love all types of exercise and I also love healthy food. I have a new found love for helping others get healthy and make changes in their lives too!
I am more confident and self loving than ever, and I’m always working hard towards new goals to push myself!!
Most of my fat loss occurred over 10 months to a year at the start of my journey and since then i’ve just been maintaining and improving.
Now weighing somewhere around 130-135 lbs and 23% bf at one point I weighed around 120 lbs and was 27% bf but I looked heavier than I am now because of the lack of muscle. Over the past year and a half I fell in love with lifting weights and lifting heavy weights at that!
As of lately i’ve been prepping for my first ever bikini competition and I’m taking my journey to the next level. My goal is to get down to 15% bf
This is me taking my journey to new heights in the next 2 months
so much more progress will be made!!
Love,
Jess
Congrats Jess, this works as a motivation for many of us!
#TransformationTuesday is an Instagram (awkwardlyautumn) thing…well it’s Wednesday, and it’s also an everyday thing in the Fitblr world! The girl on the left ate whatever she wanted, binge drank 3+ days per week, wore 2x-3x cothes, got out of breath doing the simplest things. The girl on the right? Well she’s a half marathon runner. She’s a personal trainer. She is health-conscious and she is happy. And she’s NEVER going back.
Whoa! Congratulations to this lady!
I'll get there... Someday, but I will!
nectarine and avocado salad with a ginger lime dressing
Avocado anyone?!?
Avocado quesadillas (vegan):
Ingredients: - 1 Tumaro’s “Let’s Skip the Sandwich” wrap (“Everything” flavor) - 1 Whole avocado (sliced, pitted, and fruit scrapes out — crushed) - 1/4 cup chopped red onion - 1 tablespoon of DAIYA mozzarella-style shredded cheese alternative (optional)
Instructions: - Spread crushed avocado on one half of the tortilla - Add the onion and cheese on the same half of the wrap as the avocado - Fold the tortilla in half so that the filling is on the inside - Cook in a skillet on medium heat, turning over to heat both sides until desired warmth. A “George Foreman” style grill also can work really well for this type of thing and provides a nice seal of the quesadilla.
NOTES: Any flavor/brand of vegan wrap will work as the tortilla, or a gluten free wrap as the need presents itself. Same thing for the brand of “cheese”, and can be substituted for real cheese for non-vegans. This was flavorful and delicious, but next time I’m going to add some more veggies: diced tomatoes, chopped green and red peppers, and there’s always the option for salsa and vegan sour cream!
Avocado Banana Smoothie (vegan)
-1 cup chopped fresh spinach -1 frozen banana -1 avocado (ripe, halved, pitted & peeled) -1 cup coconut water -2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1) Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until rich and creamy. 2) This mixture fills two large glasses.
The only thing I dont like, is the idea os using spinach into things. You can always replace with kale or something thats not too heavy in oxalate!

Delicious idea!
I'm currently telling myself that, because it's coooooooooooooooooooold and I need to workout!
And it might look like it's really slow, but when you notice it, you'll see how it was worth it and how fast it took!
Well this is true. Looking back now, I realize I'm much better than I was not that long ago.
