Way of the Sword

In the middle of the dojo, Yuuri kept himself on his knees, sitting on his heels as he waited for his mentor. When the sliding doors opened, came a tall man that was his father’s great friend. He was deemed to be the best swordsman of his age.

“N-Nice to meet you.” a young Japanese boy said, bowing deeply before rising back up. “My name is Katsuki Yuuri.”

Oda Nobunaga was busy doing his paperwork when his good friend asked him to train his son on the way of swords during his visit a few days ago. Especially his great dear friend knew that he was the best swordsman of his age. Obviously he cannot say no to a dear old friend. He just hoped his friend's child won't give him a hard time.

So here is, he heading to the dojo with his sword in hand. It has been awhile since he trained and mentored a someone, the last people he trained were his children who were now busy with pursuing their own dreams somewhere.

Anyway, the young lord continued with his musings as he walked to his dojo until he finally reached the door. He slid the door open and he found a young man sitting on the floor of the dojo. The young man introduced himself as Katsuki Yuuri.

"I see, my name is Lord Oda Nobunaga." He replied with a slight deep voice. His face remained impassive as he gave Yuuri a long scrutinizing gaze.

"Well hello there, it has been awhile, isn't?" Nobunaga said as he carried a hairless cat in his arms. "Anyway, I found your cat lurking in one of my rooms of my castle." ((Yooo!!!)

“oh- my apologies.. I am so terribly sorry, My cat tends to go on these wild misadventures.. ” He sighs rubbing a hand through his hair.. “will you please show me too him?” (ohh hello! long time no chat..!)

"Well, cats are really adventurous, so it's alright." Nobunaga told him, his lips twitching with amusement. It has been awhile since he saw that cat in his castle.

The young lord was busy searching inside one of the rooms of the castle when he found the man's cat rolling over the place.

Nobunaga noted that man was apologetic due to his cat but he waved him off.

"Sure, I would love to lead you to him." The young lord said, beckoning him to come to one of his rooms of his castle.

Nobunaga listened to the directions of the guard with rapt attention, then they thanked the man and began to walk towards the direction of the castle. He watched Ritsuka check her purse for some money. She looked him and asked him if he wanted to eat some lunch before going to the castle. He heard his stomach growled loudly in response at her question, causing him to turn slightly red with embarrassment.

“Okay, sure…” he responded at once. “But I am not sure where to eat though.”

“There is a convenience store over here.” she pointed at the neighboring building. 

Without further delay, she led the way to the small famima and stood in front of the door, waiting it to automatically open. Being used to the convenience stores in Tokyo, she felt quite foolish to expect that all the doors of famima were automatic. With a nervous scoff, she opened the door and pretended nothing happened.

“You can check out the food on this aisle, Nobunaga-san. Just pick out anything you like.”

The young lord looked at the convenience store nearby as he followed Ritsuka to the small store. He raised an eyebrow when he saw her wait for something in front of the door then she proceed to enter the store. Shrugging to himself. He followed her into the store.

Nobunaga looked over the food on the aisle in front of him. There were different types of food. Such as sandwiches, chicken, pasta and others. He also made sure that none of it had mushrooms in it. So he chose the one with chicken strips and some rice. It also have sauce on top of it. Then he grab bottle of juice. He also glanced at the candy section to check if there is some of those delicious confetti candies to give his wife. Luckily there are still some so he grabbed two packs, one for himself and another for Jenna.

Afterwards he went to Ritsuka who was waiting for him near the counter to pay all of the food.

Nobunaga watched as the man stared at him in disbelief. He sighed to himself. Half of himself was right that no one really believe him, that he is younger version of Nobunaga. The same one who managed unite half of Japan under him. He knew that the laws of time is too confusing for him. He also wondered how he ended up here, in this alternate world. He looked at the man again and nodded.

“Yes, I have been to Owari before.. I was actually born there, but it was so different, so chaotic..also it was filled with a lot death, blood and was still very divided.” He responded honestly. “And may I know what year is it?”

                   ❛❛ I see. ❜❜ The stranger’s answer caught Katsuie OFF-GUARD. If this man had grown up during such chaos, he should have been able to stomach the Oda soldiers’ actions. And was he implying that the land had somehow grown more peaceful? There was no fighting on this front at the moment, but the Land of the Rising Sun was still embroiled in WAR. For better or for worse, Lord Nobunaga ruled his own domain with an iron fist. ❛❛ I was…also born in Owari, in the village of Kamiyashiro. It would seem that little has changed since you last visited. ❜❜

                   Katsuie’s brows furrowed at the man’s next question, though. How could a person FAIL to have knowledge of the present year? ❛❛ …It is the year Keichō 5. ❜❜

Nobunaga noticed the man who looked slightly off-guard with his answer and answer. He raised an eyebrow at him and sighed, then the man mentioned the year, causing his jaw to drop. He silently cursed in his mind. Damn, he fell into deep in the future of his other self. Damn alternate universe thing.

“I see… I seriously blame that damn time lapse for making me appear out of nowhere..” He said with his voice laced with sarcasm. “Anyway you can just call me Saburo instead so you won’t confuse yourself me as the other ‘Lord’ of this territory. And you are?”

Hello everyone! Sorry for the less activity here because I was pretty preoccupied with a lot of stuff… Like catching up my other online friends in discord and writing one of my fanfics..etc
