Hello all! I am offering a few yoga classes this week, starting tomorrow, free of charge, hoping to get some teaching experience before I graduate from my YTT program at the end of the month. I invite all interested in yoga, from those with no experience, to the yogi who practices daily. I am also offering a kids' class! The adult classes will be about 75 min, giving ample time in the beginning and end to connect to our breath and body. The kids' class is fun with games, circle discussion, sound healing, and a creative activity to promote breathing exercises outside of class. My life partner is weirdly in to dogs so I made him this for Valentine's Day. The funny thing is that meanwhile he got me a Valentine's day card about how much he loves dogs.
I first discovered Juliet Aucerman through hiring her as my son's piano teacher. Her creativity and diligence in her teaching, as well as her witty humor, was inspiring for the entire family. When money got tough she offered to donate her teaching time to me for free. Later I realized she did this for a good number of families, even though she is always very busy teaching. She later gave me a piano to use - again I wasn't the only one. Juliet has spent a lot of energy putting on recitals that reach out to the community. Yearly she does recitals at FAM, a local senior center, and the Outlets. She brought a piano up a hill at the end of Camino de los Mares hiking area (by the flagpole) to offer creativity to the space. When it was taken away by the city she did it again! Juliet is creating children's books about psychological growth and eel being. They also have a sound track with her piano music and inspiring actors she has hired. The books are very original and deeply insightful. There are many more things about Juliet that make her unique, inspiring, and a constant contributor to our society, but I feelthis is already getting too long! I will say this though, I have taken her to yoga, which she did not want to do but went to be a supportive friend to me, then realized how important it was for her. Juliet's brain goes 100mph and needs to relax and focus on her prana. She ended up buying a nice mat, but never followed through with signing up. This is an illustration I did for an embodiment course that my yoga teacher, Nichole Ferro, and co-creator, Alexis Maze, have put together. It is a 21 day intensive that is designed to embody all of you: the good, the bad, the ugly, the beautiful and all the in-betweens. It looks amazing an am excited to start it myself!
