Glacier National Park
Last summer I took a solo three day venture to Glacier National Park in northern Montana. I drove about two and a half hours north from Missoula with my Subaru forester and camera. This was my first solo trip to the park.
Day One - Logan’s Pass
Logan’s pass is the highest point on the legendary Going-To-The-Sun-Road, There is a short hike to the hidden lake and a bustling visitor center. Wild life is extremely common at this location, such as this handsome mountain goat.
This is the milky way from the visitor centers parking lot on Logan’s Pass.
Day Two - Many Glacier
Many Glacier is located on the east side of the park. I had scouted the location during the day and witnessed a grizzly and her two cubs behind the hotel. After driving east on the Going-To-The-Sun-Road, i slept in my car in St. Mary/East Glacier for a few hours and drove the twenty minutes to Many Glacier for sunrise. This was my favorite stop on the trip.
I would love to go back and stay at the Many Glacier Hotel.
Day Three Saint Mary/Going-To-The-Sun-Road
I spent a fair amount of time in east glacier/Saint Mary area my last day at the park before heading back west on going to the sun road. This was undoubtedly the calmest least populated area of the park that I visited.
The view of St. Mary lake via Goose Island viewpoint as you start to head west back into the park.
My final self portrait with the milky way somewhere along Going-To-The-Sun-Road. Needless to say, I plan on returning and exploring farthing into the park.
