I see a lot cis people going "oh well how do we know if a kid is actually trans or if they just want to wear a dress/pants/whatever" and it has this weird implication that that's something that the parent has to like, impose on them. Why do so many people think it's the parents job to figure out their kids identities for them?

It's literally so simple. If a kid wears a dress or hates dresses then.. let them wear what they want. If a kid asks you to use a different name or pronouns then try it out. If a kid says, actually neverminded I don't like dresses anymore, or I don' t like those pronouns... Simply do not use them?

It's literally no ones job to decide if their child is trans and it's weird that people are using this hypothetical as if the usual conclusion is not parents abusing their trans and gnc kids in the same way and denying them the right to diverse gender expression all together.
