I really like the outfit Carrie Fisher’s daughter wore in The Force Awakens.
a-scumbag:
“Ah, dear girl. Battles keep me in business,” he teased. “If the entire galaxy didn’t fight sometimes, what would I do with myself? I’m terrible at gardening.” He winked once at her before listening to what she wanted. Then he saw her Resistance symbol, and he nodded.
“Of course. Right this way. Wouldn’t want to be spotted by unkind eyes.” He flicked his eyes casually over to the disguised First Order spy to his left. Be careful, little Resistance girl.
“i’d like to think there’d be opportunity for many other businesses, without war.” her lips turned upwards just slightly at the teasing. “maybe there’d be enough time for you to work on your gardening.” she was ever the optimistic. kaydel ko had thought she’d be discreet enough to only show it to him, but at the hint he gave, she bit her lip, not feeling as safe as she did when arriving here. it wasn’t supposed to be dangerous, one of the reasons kaydel herself was sent. but she should have considered everything was dangerous when working with the resistance. she followed, and when out of earshot of the other patrons: “i suppose you must have a lot of conflict between...customers.”

spacepiloted:
“ you suppose right. me being in danger’s the only to keep this whole thing rolling. ” in the midst of the war, hurtling into danger is the only way he can think of that will help keep them afloat. or, at the very least, that’s where his contribution ends and the efforts of the others begin. he has faith in everyone’s endowment in terms of what they offer, sure. being a group that doesn’t hail with big numbers means he’s at least a bit familiar with most people who are stationed on the base, as opposed to those in other squadrons or groups that spend their time farther out in the galaxy. however, there’s a special quality to the relationship that he and kaydel have, which can’t be mimicked with just anyone. they don’t spend as much time as they could together, sure, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a certain gentleness in their interactions whenever they DO get the chance to chat. he trusts her, and he’s almost certain that that notion is felt similarly from her side. ” being away has also helped to sculpt many of his friendships. even after having only had a handful of conversation with someone, them going out on a mission that is likely to go haywire definitely means that there’s a sense of uneasiness that develops, meaning that once they do come back ( hopefully ) the relief is just as meaningful as it would be with years and years of friendships to weigh them down.
he looks at her in playful disbelief when she adds her comment on the ship he flies. “ oh, now i’m definitely making sure i don’t make it back.” she’s not completely off, to be fair; the models in use are utterly out of date, but it’s just another downside that comes with being part of a movement in which resources run thin. poe likes to think he can make any ship work for him, and a focus on the date of what he’s flying is only noticed when it dates back to the rebellion and doesn’t have a decent defense system. apart from that, he’s golden. quite frankly, there isn’t a whole lot that she can say that will genuinely bother him. anything to keep the conversation from taking a serious turn ( in which the chances of him actually returning after every departure are brought up ) is all he needs before he leaves. he rubs his arm, not even attempting to stop the light punches being thrown his way. he barely felt them, but he knows better than to tell her that. ( remember that the bruising should come AFTER a mission, and poe isn’t going to push his luck. )and, just to add to it, he sways slightly with each hit, dramatizing the impact for her entertainment. “ we should be sending you out there instead, huh ?? i bet you’d be a great fit. ” he looks down at her with a not-so-impressed look on his face, one eye slightly.
“someone has to do it.” if everyone was in the command room, they certainly wouldn’t get anywhere. not that that was a big comfort to her worried mind; it seemed like the two people she was closest with on the resistance base both had a need to put themselves right in the middle of action. kaydel supposed she’d definitely have too much free time if she wasn’t worrying about poe and jaina every time they hopped in their ships and went out on a mission. maybe even, it made her better at her job, as she was most attentive when something-or someone-was on the line. Not that that was a very good logic, but it wasn’t totally done on purpose either. “that’s what i get for being friends with pilots,” she huffed, a fraud and joking frustration on her face.
the lieutenant giggled, enjoying these moments of playfulness. it gave her a feeling of familial setting (one she lost with the death of her parents), on the base, when she was able to take a step back from the cause (just for a second, though, as she was just as dedicated to it as anyone else) and be able to be a goof. honestly, she believed that was part of the reason for why she didn’t break under pressure. those points in time gave her a moment to relax before diving back into stressful work, and she cherished them. and poe could definitely be just as goofy as she when he wanted to be. “and who made that decision, you or the plane??” she teased, still poking fun at the plane. “i think you’d upset a lot of people for not coming back. you know, because that x-wing would still be useful around here,” she barely got the statement out before laughing at her own jab, as if earlier in the same conversation she wasn’t stating just how much she’d be worried about him. and now she’s laughing at his dramatic acting, as if her soft punches were anything compared to what he’s been through since joining the resistance. “oh, yes. couldn’t you imagine that?? little ol’ me out there with a blaster rifle??” she has her own blaster pistol on her hip, not that it’s gotten much use since her training. there wasn’t much to shoot at when you didn’t leave the base.
Who are some of your favorite people (human or otherwise) you've met recently?
“Those I serve in the Resistance with will always be my favorite people, although most of them I have known for very long. The only person I would say I have met on a more recent level is Priest, though she has been with the Resistance for a bit of time. It’s hard to meet new people with the amount of time I spend in the command room.”
Do you feel any sympathy for those in the First Order?
“NO. I don’t have any sympathy for people who would aid in the MURDER of innocent people. The First Order stands for nothing but destruction and death, and those who assist in that are no better than Kylo Ren himself.”
What is something you're afraid of, but don't voice out loud?
“The First Order taking over and all our efforts being for nothing. I can’t imagine having losing my parents, just for…evil to persist regardless. Plus, the torture they would probably put every member of the Resistance through, if they wouldn’t just kill us outright.”
kaydel ko connix, official cutest lieutenant of the resistance, played by carrie fisher’s daughter (billie lourd) and sporting the iconic cinnamon buns (◡‿◡✿)
Jagged, found on his ship and brought to the Resistance Med Bay. After getting advice from Bedrest the rugged pilot was disconnecting himself from machines in the Bay, retrieving his objects from the capsule he was shaking his head when he heard someone tell him to stay and rest. “ Sorry, but not, I got business to tend to. You aren’t my only customers.” Keeping to his cover, his voice even changed to a higher more jovial tone.
“who is more important to supply than the resistance??” kaydel couldn’t help but ask. the young lieutenant should’ve known to stay quiet, but her moral standing always got the best of her. she didn’t know what this man did, but could only assume by the usage of ‘customers’ that he was some kind of supplier. she bet his other customers weren’t nice enough to heal his wounds like the resistance was. “besides, you should listen to the medics; they know what’s best.” she was currently in the medic bay being treated for food poisoning; whoever’s turn it was to make lunch didn’t seem to do a good job. she hoped it was simply something that would only last a day or two; she needed to get back and get an update from jaina. what if she had found poe already??
priestselasi:
Priest bit her lip, not wanting to admit it, but Kaydel made a good point. Of course she immediately thought of Keena, the innocent. Priest knew she wasn’t innocent, but she tried her best to be good, at least. She knew she would sacrifice everything to save Keena from any harm, which is exactly the mentality every resistance fighter had, not just about her daughter but about every daughter and every son in the galaxy. Priest appreciated Kaydel’s honesty with her. After being used to being at the front of everything on Cardota, she wasn’t used to being kept out of the loop like she sometimes was now at the resistance base. “Thank you,” she smiled, feeling relieved just by knowing that. “Oh, it’s not bad. A little chaotic right now, but we’ve got lots of skilled hands on deck so, you know, we’ve got it all covered,” she said, trying not to show that they were feeling just a tad bit overwhelmed back at the hangar. She should really be down there herself, but she knew they wouldn’t miss her if she was gone just for a little while.
“you’re welcome.” it wasn’t often that kaydel say the redhead give a genuine smile, so she was quite pleased when one was sent her way. there was no guarantee it was a true one, but kaydel ko at least hoped priest knew she didn’t have to be fake with her. the lieutenant at least liked to think of herself as one of the easier people to talk to on the base, considering her nonjudgemental and caring nature, but that didn’t mean someone who had been through as much as the ex-queen was ready to open up. the blonde wished there was at least something she could do when it came to priest’s daughter, but she wasn’t exactly in position to head straight into the first orders’ base and kidnap her back, if that was even where she was. no matter that, though, no child deserved what she was going through. “not bad?? well, i’m glad at least one department isn’t feeling the stress right now.” she couldn’t imagine how much work the mechanics had considering the amount of recent battles; it seemed like every piece of equipment that came back needed to be fixed up in one way or another.
Lieutenant Kaydel Ko Connix (Billie Lourd) has been confirmed to be in Episode VIII.
In an interview at Paleyfest last night, Lourd said she will be returning to the Star Wars universe for the next movie–but in typical big-franchise fashion, her lips were pretty sealed about most of the details. One thing that was confirmed, though: her part will be bigger than it was in The Force Awakens–though to what degree is up in the air as of now.
“Have you ever seen anything more beautiful?” He breathed, glancing out at the stars. A younger Josiah had dreamed of seeing those stars in a different way, as an adventurer perhaps, but his mother had beaten that dream from him long ago.
“Ah. Look at me. Being sentimental. Did you come to me for weapons? I’m far better at selling weapons compared to my talents at waxing poetic.”
“it certainly looks nice when there isn’t a bunch of battling going on to block the stars, hm??” she hummed. she could only dream of the day when the galaxy was full of peace, when one could look up at the stars without fearing of a first order ship coming appearing from them. “sentimental isn’t a bad quality, but yes. i was sent for the....i’m not quite sure what i’m picking up.” she flashed her resistance symbol, otherwise looking neutral in appearance.
— astrid found herself almost running away from the resistance ship, needing a total break from missions, and being the smart girl, and everything in between. it was moments like this that she missed her mother, her strength and constant level mind. she then heard the call of her name over her shoulder. it made her snap and get lost in her thoughts ( which were mainly, ‘ are you f*cking kidding me? ’ ). “ …yes? ”
kaydel ko always liked to welcome her friends back once they had landed back from missions, out of kindness but also because she liked to make sure they were alright. what she didn’t expect was to see astrid running in the exact opposite direction of the base once she returned. she couldn’t help but call out to her. “uh-sorry, i didn’t mean to--” she wasn’t sure what she was trying to say, but she didn’t like the look on the blonde’s face, the way she responded. “i just wanted to see how your mission went.”
Kindness is often mistaken for softness and let me tell you, friends….that is a mistake you don’t want to make.
Kind people are not born that way, they do not stumble into it, kind people are forged in fire and darkness and imploding stars…they have steel cores. Throw a punch and you’re going to break your hand.

At that, she tore her gaze away from the screen and looked at the girl. “How didOsira find out?” If a medic knew things above her rank, then they had tobe more careful as to who was allowed into the command center. She woulddefinitely discuss that with her mother once they made sure Poe and BB-8 weresafe, for they were her priority right now. “I’ll go to Jakku myself. Askaround, search under the very sand if I have to. Anything to find them.”Poe wasn’t just her friend, he was family – he was the brother she neverthought would find in the Resistance. “If not, I know a person who mighthelp with the right push.” She was willing to use every resource just tomake sure they found Poe. She had lost so many people in her life, and sherefused to lose another brother. “I need you to check again, anything thatgives us a clue will be a good start. I’ll go to Tuanul and take it from there. If his X.-Wing crashed, then there’s a chance they’re still out there lookingfor a way to contact us.
kaydel bit her lip, not wanting to be the bearer of bad news but also feeling as if it were partially her fault. the lieutenant broke eye contact with jaina, gaze falling to the dusty floor of the command room. “she had mentioned something about rumors...” her voice trailed off, knowing jaina wouldn’t like that answer. but kaydel ko was never one to lie, especially when it came to such an important topic. “but she was close with poe....maybe she just managed to connect the dots on her own.” but that explanation did cover the ‘rumors’ mentioned by the medic when she had earlier discussed with her. “you’re going to jakku!?” her hushed tone was full of WORRY, clearly showing her concern for such a plan. “jaina, what if you meet the same fate?? what if....what if it’s a trap you’re walking straight into??” she didn’t want to think about where those two options left poe, but the thought of losing multiple people she was close with was a bit terrifying. but kaydel knew she couldn’t stop the pilot once she had her mind set to something, and after her worried projections, she gave a nod, accepting the other’s plan. “just promise me you’ll be careful,” the statement was as pointless as when poe had promised her he’d be back in no time, but hearing the words from their mouths still gave kaydel a small comfort. “if your mother finds out i knew about this...” she gave a shake of her head. she could be out of a job, not that was a big concern at all to her given the current circumstances. turning back to her array of screens, she gave another nod, this time much more determined. “the last transmission is from inside the orbit of jakku, one would think he made it there but i received no landing confirmation from him.” she paused, turning back to look the pilot in the eye. “please say you’ll keep me updated.” she couldn’t handle not hearing any word back from this mission as well.
