Living here all your life has its pros and cons I guess,” she nodded. “I never got his name, but I saw him like... six times, I’m pretty sure. And stop, no. Kelly laughed to herself. “I swear, going vegan isn’t as rough as everyone makes it out to be. I mean, it used to be sure but nowadays it’s easier to get great food that fits your diet, so,” she shrugged her shoulders softly. “What sort of police business stuff do you shout through speakers? I need examples. As for the things I was making, soaps, body scrubs. Natural, of course. That’s my job I guess, being a soaper.”

It could be said that in other parts of New York there were more “high class” comedy clubs. Comedy Cellar, did in fact feel like a cellar, not the kind of place any of the current humor kings and queens would perform. But Hannah liked it like that. She liked the tight space, the coziness, the drinks, the people hungry for an excuse to let out whoops of genuine laughter. The current performer had started out a little weak, but was now letting jokes fly with perfect timing, and Hannah found herself laughing so hard she almost slid sideways off her stool and into another patron.

“Sorry, I’m sorry,” she wheezed between spastic breaths, trying to recover her composure. “I just … I’m so bad at intentional humor myself that I can’t help but be wildly entertained by those who can just whip out the good stuff.”

“I think the term you’re going for is easily amused,” Kelly suggested between a few laughs of her own. “No worries, I’m the same way. We can both laugh and hang all over each other until we can’t breathe, it’s fine. Just don’t start making fun of my snorting or seal laughter, okay?”

Liz crossed her arms in front of her stomach and pursed her lips together. “We can do that but what if the owner is a serial killer and they are trying to frame us for their crimes?” This was the moment anyone would scream she’s reaching your honor. Given how paranoid she could get in some instances, Liz’s words wasn’t a total surprise. “I think we should go to the nearest police station and give the wallet to them.”

“Oh shit,” Kelly said softly, realizing that Liz had a point. Not to mention, she is a lawyer and if anyone would know their shit about the law, it’d be her. “You know what, you’re absolutely right. I don’t wanna get involved in some kind of serial killer juju, I need the good juju, and taking this wallet to the cops is a sure fire way to get that.”

Kelly offered an apologetic smile as she listened to her friend. She knew he liked to give off a stone cold exterior, but she also knew that deep down he had feelings. “Shut up, no he didn’t. No, he didn’t,” she replied, her expression changing to one of shock. “How the hell can you be so on point when it comes to people? I could’ve sworn he was straighter than a fucking arrow.”

“Okay, well, let’s think rationally about this,” Kelly suggested, knowing full well there was nothing rational about her. “Maybe you should open the letter and read what it says, maybe it could give us some clues to go off and we can find the mysterious owner of the wallet.”

Kelly snorted from amusement. She’d always loved whenever someone used the term bougie, but maybe she was just easily amused. “Do you consider yourself bougie too?” she asked. “You don’t know what tarot cards are? It’s nothing like poker, actually. If you to get all technical the proper term for it is taromancy. It’s basically someone predicting your future through a deck of special cards.”

“You betcha,” Kelly replied as she started to dig around in her clutch for a business card. “It’s called Witch Baby Soaps. We have an instagram, website, and a little booth set up sometimes at the Brooklyn Flea. And we’re not just for girls, we got some dude stuff too you might like. All natural stuff,” she added before handing him her card. “Lingerie because her friend is in labor, that makes sense, sure,” she chuckled along with the male. “And no offense, it’s a little weird that your sister lets you pick up lingerie for her? Did she tell you what kind to get and everything?”
