the coffee was supposed to be for his hangover, the remenants of last night’s drinking leaving behind a headache that had gotten him out of bed later than usual. leo didn’t like to make his own coffee. perhaps it was because under his charming demeanor, he was as pretentious as it got at times, almost exclusively about the things nobody cared about. like the fact that instead of making his own coffee, he found himself at a cafe every morning, a paper cup in hand.
t wasn’t that leo purposely changed himself depending on who he was around, he just happened to be the kind of person that fed off of other people’s energy most of the time. and when it came to karlie, it wasn’t very hard to fall into pace with her behavior, the pair just a little too similar. “are you sure it wasn’t you looking through the glass for me?” he questioned, his eyes only meeting hers for a moment before his gaze swept over the rest of her. “i always knew you missed me, kar.”
they both had that in common, pretentious about trivial things that most people didn’t blink an eye at. she never made her own coffee, or any of her own meals at that, she hated driving herself places, the list was endless of things she didn’t do herself. she was a primadonna and she owned it, it wasn’t something she ever tried to hide. she rolled her eyes at him and yet that same little smirk never once faded from her lips. they fed off of each other in the worst way but it wasn’t like she ever hated it. at least he was fun. “oh please,” she scoffs, her tongue running along her lesser lip. “i can’t miss what doesn’t go away,” she states reach towards him to fix at his shirt gently.

you could hear karlie coming from a mile away, heels notoriously clicking against tiled floors as she struts her way through the apartment complex. she wasn’t subtle, she never had been, she never wanted to be. so as the tall beauty stood there shuffling through her bag for her lip gloss she kicked at the door with her foot in the gesture of a knock. “oh my god rory i need to tell you something,” she shouts through the closed door before slicking on the lip gloss along her lips, bright and shimmering eyes turning dull once the door opened. her hand dropping slightly as she dropped all her weight on to one foot in disappointment. “oh,” escapes her before she could even think. “is rory home?” she asks a little coldly peaking in a looking around. without hearing the answer she simply pushes her way into the apartment regardless though.
@leofm
it was just a coffee shop, actually it was just a coffee shop at 10am in the morning, and yet karlie was dressed up far beyond what the general attire was. but wasn’t she always ?? there couldn’t have been a day the brunette was risen 4 inches in heels that cost far too much for just a shoe and perfectly styled outfits that the millionaire baby didn’t even pick out herself. but it was just coffee. --but then it wasn’t. her eyes stopped on a familiar figure also waiting for his drink, this sly smile coming on to her glossy lips as she shifted her weight on to one foot. “well, well, well,” she sings strutting over closer to leo. “look who’s still following me around,” she teases.
darcyfms:
darcy had a certain reputation back home. the jameson’s had their own reputation though. their family was well educated, ambitious, and cold. their pockets were lined with gold and their egos were inflated like a hot air balloon. most people saw darcy and thought of him in one of two ways. an asshole that they couldn’t stand to look at or a rude boy who wasn’t actually that bad. however, those perceptions shifted whenever karlie and him were in the same spot. alone, they had their own issues, together? they were the issue.
they learned from a young age: how to dress, how to carry yourself, who to associate with, who to avoid. truthfully, karlie had followed those lessons a little better than darcy when they were younger. her attitude almost a birth right where as his took a few years to fully blossom. there was one thing that hadn’t changed though, they were still thick as thieves. “ah, so you finally made It.” he muses over his drink. a glass of whiskey on the rocks, the same drink his dad made him when he turned sixteen. as she slides into the booth, he can’t help but huff a bit under his breath at the mention of vanessa. “she’s more of a jenny. trust me.”
when you’re raised to believe you’re the best, the absolute top of the food chain, it’s hard to not believe it. money was endless, power and status too, they were destined for terror. and when darcy and karlie were together if you weren’t with them you were doomed. there was something so innately powerful about them; the way they dressed, the way they walked and carried themselves, the way they spoke, it all attributed to their successes in life. and karlie, well she had always had it in her. she was perfect from the day they took her home from the hospital, the life her parents had laid out for her was all she’d ever wanted. “haven’t you heard ??” she turns to him, “the queen is never late everyone else is simply early.” taking her drink to her lips the brunette took a desperate sip, shaking her head with a silent chuckle. “well you said it,” she gestured towards him, “look if she likes making her life a wreck let her,” shrugs karlie. “it’s fun to watch.”
roryshq:
back in school, you couldn’t expect to see one without the other. tweedle dee and tweedle dum. regina george and gretchen wieners. two peas in a pod who waltzed around with mind blowing confidence. rory regularly providing the much needed yet effortless sugar-coating to the other’s more hasher tendencies. “ you like? ” she does a small spin to really show off her apron like a true disney princess. the equally girlish sundress underneath twirling along in the air. “i knew you were coming over so i thought i’d dress to impress.” she jokes. “if that’s forty-five minutes, though, i can’t imagine how stunning you’d look in an hour.” focusing her attention back onto the boiling potatoes on the stove. still, a sneaking grin puts at her lips. she loved karlie right back. “it’s been like twenty-something years now. i know how to treat my bestie like the queen she is.” she teased with a short chuckle. “pretty much. you know, darcy’s..” rory pauses, searching for the right word for a moment. “an acquired taste. so, the breakup didn’t go well. and i guess she’s still pissed about their whole short term fling from highschool.” rory details, propping herself up onto the counter top for a moment. taking a slow sip of wine, rory interrupts herself after remembering a key piece of information she didn’t want to leave out. “oh, and sawyer and darc had a thing or whatever in college. and you know how sawyer is nessa’s cousin so… you can imagine how messy things got.” she shrugs. “i mean cheekbones and all, darcy’s not worth punching my cousin over. or, no man i’ve dated is… actually.” then again, she’d never seen any romantic appeal in darcy. he was essentially her brother. “what got me was the– apology. if you can even call it that.”
they had always been each others better half, there was something about the duality of them together that had something incredibly good and incredibly bad going. and although rory was her moral compass it was hard to offer morality to someone with skewed morals. “very beauty and the beast,” muses karlie. they had completely opposing styles and karlie would never pull off rorys uniform but it was her own. only rory could pull off such a disney princess aesthetic , “you always impress i don’t know what you’re talking about.” now karlie wasn’t one for compliments, in fact most of the time a compliment felt like a frog was stuck in her throat. but when it came to those very few around her she showered them in praise because she truly believed what she was saying. “if only my suitors treated me this well,” she hums sipping from the glass craddled in her hand. “an expensive taste,” she corrected with a single nod before she rolled her eyes with a chuckle. “that was like a hundred years ago what’s she so pressed for ??” she asks looking down at her drink. “i can’t even remember the boy i was with last weekend. “so ??” she asks raising her brows, “everyone and darc has had a t h i n g,” shrugs karlie. the brunette just laughs and tilts her head as she listened to the beauty before her. karlie agreed, men weren’t worth fighting over. there were too many of them and they were too easy to get. “god no i’ve never met a man worth breaking a nail over,” she states. “it would’ve been more exciting if she punched darcy.”
roryshq:
floating around her kitchen, rory hums to herself along to the music playing from her phone. cooking was rory’s daily ‘me time’ . the perfect escape from everything else. time to just focus on herself. cooking for her friends brought her even more joy. her frilly yellow apron catches in the breeze as her hips sway to the rhythm. clearly, this is one of her happy places. something about preparing a meal for the people she loved – especially, karlie – brought her unbelievable joy. after taking a sip of white wine from her glass, rory jumps at the sound of the door. finally! rushing over to the door with the brightest grin on her lips, “karls! hello yourself, honey. oh my god, you look beautiful.” as always, she might’ve added. but, she figured the other knew that. rory expresses her admiration for the other just about every time they see eachother. “why, of course. what kind of host would i be?” she opens the door wider to allow karlie in. “we’ve got white and red – oh, and i think there’s champagne in the fridge. you know where the glasses are. help yourself.” she details, hurrying back to the kitchen to tend to the bubbling pan on the stove. “oh god,” rory groans alreadying knowing what karlie’s questions would likely be about. “in my defense, i told her to drop it.”
there were many things that differentiated the two girls, mainly the fact that rory was completely self sufficient and karlie hated even driving herself places. but out of everyone rory was probably the only one that could balance the self proclaimed princess out. she adored rory, she would claim besides darcy it was her only actual friend. “this is cute,” she giggled at the girls little apron, they had completely opposite and distinct styles. but despite their very obvious differences rory was her other half. the one person who understood her beyond the glitz and the glamour. “oh please i put it together in 45 minutes,” which yes, was quick in karlie’s world. “ugh i love you,” she expresses with this growing and glowing smile as she followed the shorter one in. “champagne ?? baby girl you know me too well,” wondering over to the girls fridge to fetch herself a glass. she pops the bottle before turning and leaning against the counter, pouring herself a glass that was a little too full. “i saw,” she commented before taking a sip. “so she’s still in love with darcy and violence is the answer,” the smile on her face was a little too big, gossip and chaos was truly her favourite pass time. “i love it here.”
@darcyfms
karlie slowly enters the exclusive bar, dim but warm lighting coating the black furnishings as deep brown eyes scanned the room for her favourite person. her and darcy had been close since birth, they were notoriously known as the chaos cousins. and if you thought one was bad you had to meet both of them to get the full experience. the black cocktail dress she wore costing more than most peoples weekly paycheque, the heels that didn’t exactly balance out her expensive taste. she always looked red carpet ready but when you were a jameson that was simply expected. the brunette wondered over as her eyes focused in on darcy. slipping into the seat beside him with a cheeky little grin as she ordered a martini. “the name suits her,” she hums peering to her cousin, “she’s the vanessa of gossip girl around here isn’t she ??”
@roryshq
the clacking of high heels against apartment complex hallway floors echoed around her, her tall frame carried through the empty halls as she made her way towards rory’s apartment. a pastel pink button down shirt tucked in without a single line or bump into a short and skin tight pencil skirt. a pink headband followed by pink heels to match, she had to be dressed to the nines at all times, after all, she was known for her outfits. karlie was always overdressed and that’s how she liked it, the star of every room if she could help it. three solid knocks to the front of her best friends door before taking a step back and touching up her lip gloss. eyes beaming as the gorgeous girl opened up to her --- “ hey babe !!” she cooed wrapping her up in a hug, an air kiss to either cheek, “do you have wine ??” she asked slipping into the dark haired womans’ apartment, “because i have questions.”
( mishti rahman, cisfemale, she/her ) i just saw karlie jameson walking down the streets of provincetown the other day playing she's so mean by matchbox 20 out loud. rumor has it that the twenty three year old is charming, but can also be snobby — overall they’re a femme fatale. they remind me of champagne at sunset, silk sheets and dim lighting, honey soaked kisses.
