Sporting Kansas City breaking new ground tonight by scoring despite having a deficit on the road

I am slightly conflicted

As an American, I’m sort of disappointed by the WNT losing the lead there at the end

As a Jayhawk, I’m really happy to see Colombia succeed even if they’re not making it out of the group stage

It just isn’t Sporting-Timbers if someone isn’t bleeding from the face, apparently

And, of course, on the other hand, SPR figured out how to score tonight!

Did the Blues regress back to the mean, scoring no goals tonight? That was a really unlucky goal, to be fair. It’s hard to get upset about a 1-0 loss on the road but it’s sort of frustrating

Literally every prediction I make is terrible, and Sporting is apparently completely dominant in at least one game this season. 

Also, damn, Cameron Porter is here now, and he looks fuckin great in more ways than one if you know what I mean, and the defense held the Sounders to one shot at all for the whole game.

This, for the moment, moves Sporting KC up to fourth in the West and they’re currently in playoff position, because nothing makes sense and nothing really needs to matter if you think about it

I’m guessing we’re seeing a preview of the ECF and WCF tonight in Union-Impact and Rapids-Dallas tonight. Montreal’s style of play, where they can just beat a good Philadelphia team 5-1 on a random Saturday, where Drogba can just score a hat-trick like it’s nothing, translates very well to the MLS Cup playoffs. 

As for Dallas and Colorado, we’ll see in a few hours assuming the match ever starts. 

Even if Castillo’s really gone, I’m still not sure that Dallas isn’t at least a favorite to get to the West finals. The next few months in the West are going to be fun, there are really eight teams vying for six spots (none of which are Seattle, if you could guess that), and we’ll just have to wait and see.
