now that wednesday has premiered, it’s almost like i can take the biggest sigh of relief. if i’m going to be completely transparent, the night it came out on netflix i had an empty bottle of sangria in one hand and just enough alcohol in my system to forget about the nerves i had about the reception. i know that the last thing i should do is look at them if i’m that terrified, but what’s the fun in making my life easier for myself? anyway, i apologize, i’ve been obnoxiously speaking about this since we all put 100% into this show. exciting stuff. anyway, tell me, what’s new in your life? delight me with the tiniest details.

And you should! It’s a huge accomplishment to finish any project, let alone a big show like that. Okay, and that’s a whole mood for a release night. How have you been feeling since it came out? Hopefully amazing, since I’ve heard nothing but good things and praise about the project myself. I know the feeling, it’s like you have so much energy from this one thing and now you still have to deal with the rest of it. Not sure if my currently boring life will interest you too much, but I’m happy to report that the cat I adopted earlier this year is settling in well. Plus I put up fairy lights in my apartment as a half assed holiday decoration, and she hasn’t attacked them and ruined the whole thing yet, so it’s wins all around over here.

This is true story and not a joke, just so you know: mom couldn’t figure out where she knew you from, and I said it was probably Deadpool. She swore it wasn’t, so we did some IMDb digging and I kid you not: it was Green Lantern. In her defense, she is very much a person who does not watch movies, but absolutely hilarious for me personally.

I can only imagine how parents feel when their child begins to grow. I would probably cry every time they hit a milestone. It’s a really quick thing and you don’t realize how fast until it happens. So you get all the flavors of hot chocolate you like and all the toppings and then you just set them up like you would do a coffee bar. I saw it on TikTok and had to try it. Dude, I know, I could never emotionally handle it. My kid would do something totally normal like walk or brush their teeth for the first time and I would just lose it, totally sobbing. Okay, I’m into it! I can’t say I’ve ever fully explored the hot chocolate topping game, but I am a hoe for a lot of whipped cream so I’d totally be into it. I’m glad TikTok is paying off for you! I set myself up for failure on this one, because I don’t actually remember how long exactly — that being said, I know the answer is months and months because the first time I saw the trailer I was so excited I couldn’t handle myself. I did see it last week! First of all, the dress and leather jacket combo is to die for, absolute 10/10. Secondly, I knew it was going to be good and funny but I did not expect it to make me laugh so much. It was amazing, honestly. Was it a lot of fun to make?

Yes. Like, a lot. For me, I think a good chunk of it is just how weird the seasons changing feels, but it can also feel weird when you’re working too much or taking time off between work stuff, you know? A lot of the time I think you just have to shake yourself out of whatever headspace you’re in. I like to force myself to do therapist approved self care things that kinda seem like bullshit. Like, you know when someone tells you you’ll feel better if you exercise or take a walk, and you’re like okay, that’s fucking dumb but then you do it and you do feel better? It hurts, but it’s the truth!

Why is this so relatable? I only have a cat myself so I know it’s not quite the same, but seriously, one day they’re these little guys who can fit in the palm of your hand and the next they’re knocking shit down all over your house. Oh wow, congratulations! I can’t even imagine how you must be feeling. Elated, right? But also kinda scared shitless? That’s the genearl consensus I get from new parenthood feelings, I think. Since I’m a perpetual auntie, I don’t have much to offer in the way of parenting advice, but I think it’s generally good advice to just try and focus on all the little moments because they’ll be very precious to you someday. How are you and the mom feeling? Are you both getting any sleep?
