It's always been you ❤️ @teddyomara
mitchellsandco:
Teddy sat up when Bill moved to put the tray on the floor, having momentarily forgotten that they abandoned their breakfast in favour of each other. He watched Bill without blinking once, his eyes locked in on the man as he stripped out his shirt. His chest was broad and beautiful, decorated with hair and much lower, a scar, still healing over from where Bill was shot. He hadn’t said it to Bill out loud yet, but he liked that part maybe more than he should. Teddy found it attractive for more reasons than one. It looked good, jutting out across the man’s skin, breaking up his flesh with a thin, soft pink stripe. But more than that, Teddy liked what it reminded him of. Not the shooting, of course, but what came after – this. Them. Without that scar, they wouldn’t be in their bed, sharing breakfast and each other without a care in the world.
Teddy got him back where he wanted, nuding his leg between Bill’s before his hand slipped right back into the other’s pants. Teddy’s fingers grazed through his pubic hair, but this time he let them go further, fingers lightly tracing the length of Bill’s cock before taking it in his hand. He stroked him gently, slowly, without the intention of doing more – at least not yet. Teddy wanted to take his time, feel Bill’s arousal grow against the palm of his hand. “You want it right here?” He asked, tightening his hand to give Bill’s dick a little squeeze. He smiled at the man in front of him, keeping the rest of himself wide open for Bill to explore as he pleased.
“Right there, baby, that’s it.” Bill confirmed, his voice low, his lips against Teddy’s again. He was already half-hard, and it didn’t take long for Teddy to stroke him to full arousal. Bill’s hand kept exploring the front of Teddy’s body before it decided to venture south too. He wanted to shove his face right there, above Teddy’s dick, breathe in his scent and nuzzle his nose against his pubic hair and marvel in every single part of it. He wanted the man’s balls in his mouth, he wanted to suck him down into his throat and finger his asshole until Teddy was begging to be fucked.
“So good, Teddybear.” His hand wrapped around Teddy’s length, moving slowly, getting the blood flowing. The two of them lay together, nestled in each other, jerking their cocks with their heads pressed together and Bill decided he didn’t want to move from this spot ever again. He wanted to die like this, with Teddy.
Bill kissed Teddy properly this time, passionately, desperately, his tongue in the other’s mouth, breathing through his nose with a moan in his throat.
mitchellsandco:
They were never like this before. Teddy and Bill were always close – best friends, fuck buddies, everything in between – but in nearly fifty years of knowing each other, it had never been so quiet between them, so soft, so sweet and gentle it made him forget how to breathe.
He watched Bill with wide blue eyes, scanning every inch of the other man’s perfectly chiselled face. Teddy let his hand slide down Bill’s cheek, taking hold of his chin so he could bring him in for another kiss.
“You’re gonna drive me crazy,” Teddy whispered, right against Bill’s mouth. He kissed him again, back arching off the bed so he could press his chest most into Bill’s hand, appreciating the warm touch. Teddy breathed in deep, eyes fluttering open so he could watch Bill again. “… You know, you’ve got some too,” he mumbled, other hand slipping back under Bill’s shirt to feel over his chest and his stomach, eventually trailing back down to slip into the short’s Bill wore, feeling out the soft hair that sat above his dick. He smiled, fingers moving nice and easy. “So fucking manly,” he echoed, amused.
Bill grinned against Teddy’s lips as his touch was reciprocated. He pressed a quick kiss to his lips, before pulling away.
“Hold on--” he said, moving so that he could take the tray and put it onto the floor. The last thing he wanted was for them to be rolling around in eggs and toast, getting crumbs all over the sheets.
When that was done, he pulled off his t-shirt and got back into his position, pulling Teddy close to him, his arm around the other’s shoulder to keep him close.
“Put your hand back,” Bill requested, going back to feeling over Teddy’s chest, over his stubbled cheeks and jaw, his arms, any part of hair that Teddy had that was within Bill’s reach, he touched. Bill didn’t get why Frankie was interested in women, when there were perfect, beautiful men like Teddy out there.
mitchellsandco:
It didn’t take much to get Teddy going, especially not lately. One glance from Bill and his heart was racing like a dog on a track, running in endless until it caught what it wanted. This time, luckily, Teddy already had what he wanted, right there in his arms. He squeezed Bill in close, delighted by his peppering of kisses. He laughed at the tickling feeling, curling in towards the bigger man’s body more with each smooch. Teddy’s leg rubbed harder at Bill’s crotch – accidentally, this time – hands curling into fists around the fabric of Bill’s shirt. “Yeah?” He asked, laughing still. Teddy let his head tilt to one side, his breath coming out in a long, relieved exhale when Bill’s mouth finally found that spot beneath his ear. “Everything?” One of his hands found the back of Bill’s head, fingers tangling into the man’s thick, messy hair. He held on tight, trying to shift and wiggle his way to having their bodies flush together, from their foreheads to their toes. “ – ‘n what are you gonna do about it?” Teddy asked, finally shifting far enough down that he could meet Bill’s eyes again. “Hmm?”
“Yeah. Everything.” Bill confirmed with a nod, his nose nuzzling against Teddy’s skin as his head moved in the up and down motion. They were so close now that Bill could feel every movement Teddy made, especially the one against his crotch, which was sending blood rushing straight to his groin.
“I could do a lot of things,” Bill breathed, his lips against Teddy’s, trying to kiss him as he talked. He wanted to simply melt into Teddy, for their bodies to become one. “I could show you just how much I love you… just how much I like every single part of you.” He continued to talk, his hand running over Teddy’s chest hair still.
“You’re so fucking sexy,” he whispered. “It drives me fuckin’ crazy, Teddy, just feeling you like this…” His fingers brushed against his nipple, the pad of his index finger circling around it until it grew hard beneath his touch. “So fucking manly… all this hair you have…”
mitchellsandco:
Teddy wanted Bill shirtless, too. It wasn’t fair – Teddy had to slip his hand all the way under Bill’s shirt to get the same access, his fingers drinking in what his eyes couldn’t. He was warm and soft and perfect, and Teddy didn’t hesitate to draw the man closer, eventually sneaking his hand all the way to Bill’s back, his shirt stuck half-way up his torso. “I don’t know,” Teddy answered softly, nudging his nose against Bill’s. He didn’t need to talk any louder than a whisper when they were this close, which they now were most of the time. Teddy was handsy, needy for all the Bill he’d missed in the years they weren’t officially together. “– I saw your mom at the hospital.” Right then, that sounded like more than enough. Teddy only wanted to see one person that day, and it was Bill. His leg pressed further, until his thigh was nuzzled up against Bill’s crotch.
All it took was a slight tilt of his head to kill Bill again, lingering for a long moment afterwards. “… Maybe later,” he agreed, giving a tiny nod of his head. “We’ll call them, see what they think.”
His hand slipped out from under Bill’s shirt, cold and lonely until it touched the man’s cheek. “But we don’t have to get up yet, do we? We’ve got time.”
“Mmmhm.” Bill hummed his response. “I know but when was the last time you saw your Mom?” His turned his head further so he could kiss Teddy. “Your leg’s gettin’ high there, Teddybear.” He chuckled, wanting to be as close to him as possible.
Bill shook his head. “No, we don’t have to get up right now.” He kissed Teddy properly on the lips, for a long moment, drinking in every inch of him that he could. His hand came to the side of Teddy’s head, Bill’s other hand flat on his chest.
“I love you,” he murmured against Teddy’s lips, kissing him again. “Every single bit of you.” Bill kissed his nose. And then his cheek and then his nose again, kissing different parts of Teddy’s face as he spoke with a smile. “Your nose, and your lips, and your smile, and your eyes. Your hands... and your ears...” He moved to kiss just beneath Teddy’s ear, his voice dropping. “Everything.”
mitchellsandco:
Teddy snorted a laugh at Bill’s cheesy answer, but nothing could erase the smile it brought to his face. He felt it too, and more powerfully than ever. So long as he was with Bill, he was good. It didn’t matter where they were or what they did, everything would be fine, no matter what.
As delicious as the food was, Teddy appreciated the kisses far more than breakfast. He hummed a happy little noise, waiting a polite few minutes before turning his head upwards to nuzzle into Bill’s subbly neck, breathing him in just as deep. Teddy pressed his lips to the man’s throat, right under his jaw, twisting in towards him as he did. His hand slid across Bill’s chest, mindlessly running back and forth.
“My mom?” Teddy asked, emphasizing how little he wanted to go anywhere by nudging one of his legs between Bill’s. Thinking the other was joking about seeing company, Teddy teased: “Sure – why don’t we go see your mom, too? We’ll make a whole day of it.”
Bill placed the tray to the side so it didn’t get knocked over as he wanted to get closer to Teddy. He turned onto his side, body facing in to Teddy, his own hand running over the man’s chest hair, his forehead pressed against his boyfriend’s. They’d never really... been like this. Not for as long as Bill could remember, anyway. When it came to sex, they were incredibly physical, but lying in bed together, just touching each other, embracing... It was something Bill never wanted to lose now. He ran his fingers through Teddy’s chest hair and down to his stomach, and back up again, letting his legs fall open so one of Teddy’s could slide in between.
“Sure,” he replied with a soft smile, his eyes half-closed. “Why not? When was the last time we saw them?”
mitchellsandco:
Before trying any food, Teddy took a long and necessary sip of coffee, not caring in the slightest that it burnt the roof of his mouth and his tongue, so fresh and hot he could barely taste it. He hummed in appreciation, brows pulling together as he focused on its warmth, spreading down through his body. “Oh, that’s good,” he said, taking another quick taste before he put the mug down. Next was the food, which Teddy was surprisingly hungry for. It looked good, too. Bill had never been a bad cook, but lately, his talents had grown exponentially. His breakfast was warm and his eggs were nice and fluffy, unlike anything Teddy could ever manage.
He scooched closer when Bill touched his arm, bringing the tray along with him as he went to press right up against Bill’s side, snuggling in close. Teddy set his tray down over Bill’s legs, using his newfound freedom to swing one of Bill’s arms over his shoulders, making himself at home.
Teddy took a bite first, then offered the piece of toast to Bill, utterly wrapped up in domestic bliss.
He shrugged a little, reaching across Bill for his cup of coffee – it was closer, after all. Teddy took a sip and put it back, thinking over his plans for the day.
“Not today. Tomorrow, yes. But today, I’m all yours. Anything you want to do, baby?” Teddy asked, head tilting so he could look up at Bill’s face. “How are you feeling? Sore? Good? – Better or worse than yesterday?”
“Yeah?” Bill smiled, excited to have Teddy try what he made. He wanted everything to be perfect… all the time. He needed it to be. They were finally together and nothing was going to get in their way now. Bill watched intently, keeping his eyes on Teddy’s face, taking in every speck of grey in his dark hair, his morning stubble, the little wrinkles around his eyes when he smiled and the way his brow twitched as his face moved.
Bill’s arm moved around him and he kept him as close as he possibly could, turning his head so he could press a kiss to the side of the man’s face, breathing in his scent. He couldn’t believe this was happening: he felt like it was a dream… a really good fucking dream.
“I’m feeling good,” Bill smiled. “I’m always good when I’m next to you.” He let out a breath, his nose pressed against Teddy, kissing him again and breathing in once more. “I just want to be with you. I don’t care what we do.” He paused for a moment. “You wanna go visit your Mom, maybe?”
mitchellsandco:
Teddy woke up to the sound of plates clattering, cutlery clinking together. He stirred, then tried his best to ignore it, letting his head fall back onto one of Bill’s deflated pillows. He pressed his nose in deep, inhaling the thick, musty smell that Bill always left behind. Teddy loved it there, in that place between sleep and consciousness. Especially now. Every morning, he could smell Bill, feel him, know he was there, without a doubt in his mind. It was perfect, and all to easy to fall back asleep.
He jolted up again when Bill opened the bedroom door, pushing up off his stomach so he could twist and look over his shoulder, eyes squinting against the incoming sun. Bill was holding something, saying something. It took him a second to process.
“What?” He asked, his voice still gruff with sleep. “– What’s all this?” Teddy blinked, focusing in on the tray in Bill’s hands. He twisted more, until he could turn over, and then forced himself into a seated position, smile growing into a grin as he did.
“You made breakfast?” Teddy asked, adjusting everything around them, waiting for Bill to return with coffee. He took it with a happy little hum, eyes following Bill around the bed. “And coffee?”
“Did I do something good?” He joked, leaning in towards the other when he came for a kiss. Teddy welcomed him eagerly, one hand moving from his mug to warm Bill’s cheek. “… Hi, baby,” Teddy mumbled, pulling Bill back in for another only one second after their first. “I slept so well…Like a fucking rock.” He smiled, leaning his forehead against Bill’s. “How about you? Any good dreams?”
“I did – I hope it’s okay.” Bill smiled, stealing one more kiss from Teddy before he sat back on the bed and sipped on his coffee before putting it down. “I slept good.” He nodded. “I’ve slept so well since we moved back here…”
There were still nightmares, but they were few and far between now. Bill hadn’t felt as safe as he was when he was next to Teddy, curled up behind him, holding him close.
“I told you, I’m gonna keep you smiling for as long as I can.” Bill pulled a face. “You might not be smiling if I made the eggs too dry or left some shell in but I don’t think I did.” He reached out and rubbed Teddy’s bare arm. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d felt this content, this at peace with everything in his life. Things with Tom had gone considerably well, and since they’d moved into Bill’s apartment, they’d easily fallen into a routine.
“Do you have any plans for today, baby? You gotta go to work?”
“Breakfast in bed?” Bill grinned as he walked into the bedroom of his apartment carrying a tray. He’d been trying so hard the past few weeks, since Teddy had officially called things off with Tom, to make more of an effort in every aspect of his life: his relationships, his health, his fitness, his life skills. This time, it was his first real attempt at making scrambled eggs on toast. There wasn’t so much pain when he moved now, and Bill could pretty much walk on his own now, until his core muscles started to hurt again and he needed to take a rest.
“I made it.” He kept his voice low, trying not to be too loud this early in the morning. Teddy was still half asleep, and Bill placed the tray of food on the foot of the bed and rushed off to grab their mugs of coffee too, handing it over to Teddy with a nervous smile and climbing back into bed.
“Good morning,” he leaned over with a wince to give his boyfriend a long kiss. “How’d you sleep?”
@mitchellsandco
mitchellsandco:
“No kids in the house,” Teddy agreed. He downed the rest of his drink in one swift gulp, leaning away from Tom only long enough to set the empty glass down on the coffee table.
When he leaned back, Teddy did so entirely, stretching out so his head was now rested in Tom’s lap. He looked up at him and smiled sweetly, reaching a hand up to the man’s face. “We can do whatever we want,” Teddy reminded him, soothing over his soft cheek with a brush of his thumb before moving the hand down to Tom’s warm neck.
He didn’t mind what Bill was doing. He liked it, actually. Every little twitch of Bill’s cock growing harder sent a shock right up his thigh, right into his dick. And the noises – fuck, the noises – one little moan from Bill, and all Teddy could think about was handing the rest of his body over, too. Bill could do with both of them as he pleased.
Teddy stared right back at the bigger man, making a little noise of his own, one that vibrated low in his chest. He watched Bill get desperate, trying to shove whatever part of Teddy he could into his pants, and it too everything not to get on his knees and start begging to be fucked right then and there.
He took a deep breath, looking up at Tom instead. Almost immediately, Teddy’s mouth curled into a devilish smile. He demanded Tom’s attention with another gentle brush of his thumb, then drew him in closer, making him bend.
“I don’t know, Tommy – I think Billy baby might’ve gotten a little worked up. Do you think we should help him with that?”
They could do whatever they wanted, and so many thoughts flooded Bill’s mind. He smirked. They didn’t even need to be confined to their bedroom. Now, they could fool around wherever they wanted and no one else would know.
Tom watched the interaction between Bill and Teddy, the foot moving, the breathing, the smiles. He flushed red, already hot and embarrassed and more than turned on.
“I think he has as well,” Tom agreed quietly, not all that confident in talking the way that his partners did, but he tried his best. He liked to watch the two of them interact, liked to learn from them. After all, they knew what they were doing. He was incredibly new.
“Come here, Tom.” Bill smirked, leaning over Teddy, the movement making the man’s foot press further into his groin. He caught Tom’s lips in a long kiss, over where Teddy was lying, his tongue going into Tom’s mouth. The other man flushed redder, his hand going to grip Teddy’s shoulder, his breath hitching.

Crossing Lines | Episode 2.04 Everybody Will Know
mitchellsandco:
“Oh, yeah. You’re not the only one who did it.” Teddy nodded, eyes narrowing as he focused in on a point of attack. Bill had backed himself into a corner with that one. “And where is everyone else, Bill? Where’s George, huh? Or Paul? Or John – do you remember John?” He quirked an eyebrow, fury rising in his chest.
“What about Ryan, Bill?” Teddy asked, pushing in closer to the other man, looking him dead in the eye. “What about Ryan? Do you remember that? Because I do. I remember everything. I remember every fucking funeral. I remember burying my friends, and burying my brother – watching him die in front of Ewan – and looking at you every single goddamn time, just wondering what day of the week your funeral would be on.”
“– I’d look at you and wonder if I’d have to take off work for it, or if you’d be good enough to die on a fucking Friday.”
“Do you know how fucking disconnected you have to be to look at – to look at your best friend, the person you love most in the entire fucking world – and to start fucking scheduling their death in your head, because it feels that fucking inevitable?”
“I have been convinced that I’m going to lose you every second of every goddamn day for the last thirty years, but it’s fine – right? It’s fine, because everyone was doing it. So it’s fine. It’s fine, because you’re Bill fucking Miller, and nothing’s ever gonna touch you, and so long as you’re okay then you don’t have to give a fuck what any of us are feeling.”
Teddy wanted to grab something and break it. He wanted to scream and stomp his feet, throw a tantrum big enough so Bill could finally see how much he’d been holding in, and for just how long. He breathed in heavy, angry huffs, chest rising and falling quickly as he did.
Bill wandered off, and within seconds, the whole thing had been dismissed.
Teddy scoffed at him, running a hand down his face before he angrily stomped after him, following along as Bill rummaged for booze. “See!” He insisted, doing all he could to push into Bill’s line of sight. “See? This is exactly what I’m talking about.”
“Look – I’m trying to talk to you. I’m trying to talk to you about something important, and all I get from you is fucking dismissed. Is that how you want to do this? You want to be a big, sulky baby? You want to fucking lose me, Bill? Because I don’t want to be friends with an asshole who can’t fucking listen.”
“ – HEY!”
Finally, enough was enough. Teddy reached past Bill and slammed the next cabinet he opened shut, demanding more of his attention.
“Stop fucking drinking and look at me, for fuck’s sake. Look at me.”
“Are you a fucking moron? Are you really that stupid? Why do you think I’m here? Why do you think I’m crying? Why do you think I show up for you every goddamn day? Think, Bill. Fucking think. Why would I be here right now if I didn’t give a fuck. Why would I put myself through this – why would I be here at all – if I didn’t still fucking want you?”
“Are you blind? Are you stupid?” Teddy huffed a sad, defeated laugh. “All you talk about is how I never showed up, but look at me. Look! I’m right here. I’ve been here. I’ve been trying, Bill. But I can’t make anything work when I’m talking to a brick wall.”
“You shut me out years ago, and you never let me back in. What else was I supposed to do?”
“I know your trying to talk to me!” Bill replied. “I’m listening, Teddy. I listen to you all the damn time! You want me, you need me—but you never did anything about it! You moved on! Which is great. I’m happy for you, Teddy. You’re with a great guy who listens to you and who treats you right and you decided this is the one you wanna marry. I’m happy for you.”
He couldn’t do this, he couldn’t listen to Teddy telling him he wanted him minutes after he told him he was getting married to someone else.
“I saw the way you looked at Tom at his birthday party, okay?” Bill added. “I saw the way he looked at you, too.” He shook his head. “You deserve to be happy, and not to worry about your husband, or fucking fight with him all the time.”
He let out a breath, defeated, leaning back against the cabinets.
“We do not work, Teddy.” Bill reiterated. “Doesn’t matter how much we want it, we don’t work. We tried and we tried, and it didn’t work. So it’s not gonna work now. It’s not gonna work now because you have Tom, and he’s so fuckin’ in love with you.” It hurt to think about, but he was right. Bill couldn’t be selfish about this no matter how much he wanted to be.
“He looks at you like you’re the only guy in the room, like you’re the fuckin’ sunshine after a storm. He didn’t stop talking about you all night or smiling at you. When I was talking to him, all he did was tell me how great you were, how much you helped him, how much he loved you and wanted to spend every day of his life with you.”
Tom told Bill everything Bill had been feeling about Teddy since they were teenagers.
“He really loves you, Teddy, and you deserve that kind of love.”
mitchellsandco:
“Oh, please. For fuck’s sake.” Teddy wiped at his face, trying to remove any sign of sadness. “You think I don’t know what you were doing? You think I didnt fucking know all along?” He didn’t. For months, he didn’t. But at that point, Teddy figured it was semantics. It was twenty years ago. Whether or not Teddy knew what Bill was doing immediately, he knew. Even if Ewan had to point it out – he knew. That’s what mattered. He knew, and it broke something – something Teddy still hadn’t fixed.
“You were out there fucking people, Bill. Strangers. You’d show up smelling like cheap fucking cologne and alcohol I know you don’t drink. It happened all the time. We all noticed, eventually. You think you’re fucking bullet-proof? You think it would’ve been any better if I didn’t get sick, but you did? You think I would’ve been fucking okay if you got sick and died? If I had to fucking lose you, too?”
“Do you have any idea how scared I was? Do you give a fuck at all?” Teddy asked, his eyes wide as they could go, boring into Bill’s. “Did you ever stop to ask yourself why I didn’t show up? Why I might’ve been fucking scared, Jesus Christ –”
“No. No. Instead you just got mad at me. Because it wasn’t about us. It was about you. And your ego. And how butthurt you were that I didn’t show up to a fucking restaurant.”
“You know what, Bill? You don’t know shit. You don’t know fucking shit about what I feel, or what I need, or how fucking terrified I am – because you never fucking asked. You don’t give a fuck about me. Not really. You wanted me to be your boyfriend for you.”
“And I wanted to do it. Because I love you. I wanted you. I wanted it to work. So fucking badly. God. I wanted to show up. But when I couldn’t? You showed me real damn fast that – hey, maybe I dodged a bullet. Because, you … what? You waited for me your whole life, apparently, and then the second I’m not okay, as soon as I start cracking under the fucking pressure, you blamed me for everything and turned around and fucked Evan.”
“But you know what? He’d never do that to me. Tom would never hurt me like that. And he asks. You know? He asks me questions. He knows shit about me that you haven’t bothered to give a fuck about in fifty years. He makes me feel safe. And either you understand that, and you’re actually, genuinely happy for me, or you don’t, and again, you’re just avoiding shit and throwing a tantrum instead of talking to me and being real for once in your life.”
“So you need to –” He hesitated a moment, scared of his own words. “You need to either shut the fuck up and listen to me, actually fucking talk to me, or you need to leave me alone and let me move on. Okay? Because I can’t do this any more. I can’t have you blame me for everything for the rest of my goddamn life, when all I have ever done is love you as hard as I can, no matter how fucked up I am.”
“I tried my fucking best. I wanted you. If you even gave me five seconds before you –” He shook his head, tears popping back up again. At that point, he didn’t even know what he was saying, words just tumbling out.
“Yeah, I was fucking people, but I always used protection!” For the most part, anyway. Bill didn’t really know, most of the time he was manic, or drunk, or high, or honestly a combination of the three. Why was Teddy always so surprised that Bill went out fucking people? It was what he did. He’d lost count of how many people he’d slept with before he turned 21. He enjoyed sex, and he was never going to apologise for that.
“Teddy we were all fucking scared! It was the 80s, but do I have to remind you that I wasn’t the only one going around fucking everything that moved!” The people that did that our of their friendship group, well… Bill was the only one left. He was the lucky one, who managed to get away with being stupid. Ryan wasn’t so lucky. Neither was George, or Paul, or John.
He scoffed again and stood up, walking over to his cupboards so he could root through them, trying to find something to drink now that he was out of beer. He needed to keep his hands busy, keep his mind busy for a moment because the more Teddy talked, the more frustrated Bill became. Teddy was telling him how much he didn’t know him like they weren’t best friends… like they hadn’t been through so much in 50 years. Tom was more important.
Teddy had made that quite clear now.
“I wanted you too.” Bill slammed the cupboard door shut. “Why do you think I showed up every fucking time you didn’t?” He shook his head. “It’s fine. Whatever. We don’t work, we both agreed that we don’t work. So go marry Tom, and be happy with him, okay? We’ll still be friends. We’re friends, yeah?”
mitchellsandco:
Bill hit too close to home. He was right in every way Teddy didn’t want him to be right, and he was doing so flippantly, like there wasn’t so much more to feel beneath his words.
Teddy’s jaw set, his face crumpling up with anger. There it was again. Bing. Bing. Fucking Grindr. Always Grindr. There was always someone else to fuck, wasn’t there? Teddy had never been enough for him.
“Fuck you,” he spat, plain and simple. He shook his head at the other man, unsure if his disgust or his embarrassment would send him out the door faster. “Fuck you. That’s what everything’s about for you, isn’t it?”
“It’s always just about the fucking sex. Doesn’t matter when, doesn’t matter what the fuck’s happening, all you fucking care about is getting your dick sucked.”
“You play like you’re some goddamn victim here, like I’m the one who hurt you and you’ve done nothing fucking wrong, but that’s bullshit. You know it’s bullshit. That’s why you blame me so much. It’s easier, isn’t it? To pretend like it’s all my fucking fault we’re not together.”
“We fucked around, Bill. But I have been asking – I have been begging you – since the fucking eighties to get your shit in order and make me a priority. To stop sleeping around, so I didn’t get fucking sick. And you didn’t listen. You didnt give a fuck. You were perfectly content sticking your dick in some strangers ass before shoving it in mine and lying to me about it, okay? So you can stop pretending I’m some big bad monster who ruined everything for you by – what? Just randomly – for no fucking reason – blowing off a few dates with you?”
“God – That’s bullshit. Even now. I’m trying to fucking talk to you, and your goddamn Grindr is going off. Do you know how hard it is to feel like I’m any kind of important to you? Do you know how that feels? When you need someone to fight for you and they just –” Teddy trailed off, laughing at his own admittance.
“You know what, Bill? If I’ve hurt you so goddamn much, why don’t you go find some mindless twink and fuck his brains out, okay? Stop pretending to be happy for me and just leave us alone.”
“Seems like it’s the only thing you come to me for.” Bill replied with a raised eyebrow. “Why’s it matter where I get my dick sucked if you’re engaged to Tom?”
It was Teddy’s fault that they weren’t together. At least in Bill’s opinion, it was his fault. Teddy had been the one to stand him up time and time again, Teddy had been the one to cancel plans and jump from person to person, to pick Jimmy Shore over him. Bill didn’t get it. If Teddy was in love with him, or interested in him, he certainly didn’t fucking show it.
“When did I ever lie to you about anything?” Bill scoffed. “We always used a condom.” At least in the 80s they did… when everything was really fucking bad, and Ryan was dying, Bill always kept Teddy safe. He didn’t keep himself safe, when it was with strangers, but he definitely made sure Teddy was okay. Wasn’t that enough? Wasn’t that prioritising things enough? Wasn’t that putting Teddy first?
He snorted loudly at Teddy’s question. “Are you fucking kidding me? Do I know how it feels?” He scoffed and shook his head. “You’re asking me if I know what it’s like to feel important to someone? If you’re asking me that then you really don’t know me at all.”
Bill reached forwards for his phone and opened the app, scrolling through the messages he had.
“Twinks aren’t my type.” He said pointedly. Tom was a twink in Bill’s opinion. Tom was the biggest fucking twink Teddy could get his hands on, probably. He ran his tongue over his bottom lip before tossing his phone aside again. “You really think I’m going around fucking guys right now? And why is that such a big deal if I am? I’m not your damn boyfriend. Or your fiancé.”

Teddy didn’t know if he could explain himself, let alone if he should. Telling Bill the truth would make things worse. Things would get hard, and fast. Bill would get mad at him. Tom would get mad at him. If he opened his mouth and said anything now, Teddy knew he’d lose them both.
He shook his head at Bill, trying hard to recompose himself. “No. No,” he insisted, forcing himself to sit up a little straighter, occasionally catching Bill’s eye. “No. I don’t – I don’t have cold feet. I don’t. I want…” Teddy’s breath hitched at the most inopportune moment, like some invisible force was trying to shut him up. He kept going anyways.
“I want this,” he said. Next time he looked up, Bill had shifted forward. Teddy’s heart was racing wildly, his mind racing with a million conflicting thoughts. Bill looked so confused, and he had every right to be. Teddy was just as lost. He wanted so much, and had no idea if he could hold on to any of it.
Teddy knew he just had to push through. He tried hard to keep eye contact, hoping no more tears would fall. “I do. I’m just – I’m – I don’t know. Maybe you’re right. Maybe I’m just scared.” Teddy laughed it off wetly, nodding along like Bill had cracked the case.
He didn’t know what to do. Bill was right. Teddy was terrified – just not of getting married. He was scared of losing Bill, of the popping the bubble they’d lived in together for so long. He was scared to think, above anything else, that he might never get to lean in and kiss him again. It didn’t matter how messy he was or how drunk he was, Teddy still wanted to do that. Not just once, either. And he couldn’t. Not without hurting both of the men he loved.
“I’m sorry,” Teddy said, breaking focus as soon as it got too much. “I shouldn’t – I shouldn’t have even come here. I could’ve just – I don’t know why I even –” Teddy gave it one second, and then he started pushing himself off the couch, convinced that he was doing nothing good by sticking around.
Teddy laughed at himself, rubbing at his face as he stood. “Jesus, I’m fucking pathetic. I have no idea what I’m crying for,” he lied.
“Mmm. Mmhm, I definitely think you’re scared.” Bill replied, rubbing his lips together. “You’re scared because once you’re married you’re not going to be able to fuck me whenever you want to.” He shrugged, sitting back on the couch, the alcohol getting more to his head now. He was annoyed. He was pissed off that Teddy had used him like this, for so long, as someone to mess about time and time again. Bill had made his feelings for Teddy clear, and he’d made them clear a very long time ago. Well before Tom Bishop ever came along.
“Which, let’s be honest here, anyone would be scared of.” Bill’s phone chimed just then, the Grindr notification noise clear as day. “Is the sex bad with him? Is that what it is?” He couldn’t help himself, digging into the little wound he’d created and making it bigger and the jealousy spewed out.
“Is that why you’re crying?”
