Isaac and the Real Girl (May 2011)
“It’s not too hard when your job’s on the line,” Kaylee whispered as if telling him some grand secret. She smirked wondering why he was over here. He didn’t seem to be having a horrible night like that woman, Holly, had said. He seemed rather happy, even laughing.
Then Kaylee remember that they were probably playing a game at her expense because they were bored. “What do you need me to do?” she asked, her playful tone leaving, “‘Cause I’d rather just do it and have this be over with.”
"I don't need you to... do anything?" Isaac said, slightly taken aback as her mood suddenly changed. One minute she'd been laughing and joking the next she was cold and ice. Isaac resisted the urge to sigh, this always seemed to happen whenever Holly was involved. She complained that he always chose the wrong girlfriends, but she'd chosen someone who didn't even seem to like him or be interested in what he had to say.
"You could tell me your name?" he suggested, shrugging a little.
