Some basic french translations.
So because Colette is majorly french, I like to use some of her dialect, and language. Primarily, she will speak english, but you could see.. bonjour - "Hello!" Or, "Hi!" mademoiselle - a woman. monsieur - a man. merci beacoup - "thank you very much" ma cherie - darling, or dear. enchante - glad to meet you. au revoir - good bye! je m'appelle - my name is. thank you for reading!
Please reblog if you an adaptive roleplayer.
AKA, you start with icons, I’ll probably respond with icons. You make it clear you prefer prose, I’ll make sure I’m up for prose when I reply and I’ll try to keep my word count within range of yours. Just want oneliners? Easy peasy.
"Curse you Skinner, can’t you send Pompidou? You know how serious I am with my work, do you not?” Colette fired back. Skinner shot her a look, and she muttered a few choice words under her breath. Their customer appeal was going up, and Skinner suggested that they…
Colette nervously peered around her and the other people who departed from the boat. This city was so large, and the people were vastly different than Paris. She felt like a damsel in distress, and to make matters worse, her stomach was grumbling like crazy. Colette preferred Paris’s food, but she would have to make amends.
A nearby restaurant stuck out in the horizon, and Colette pushed past the folks, making her way down the street. Without bothering to look at the name, she walked right into the door.
"Please feed me, I’m starving." Colette muttered lazily, before plopping into the nearest booth.
Tiana came onto the sales floor, pushing a tray of her freshly prepared gumbo. As she past people, they asked for a bowl and she happily gave it to them. Tiana’s gumbo was famous around New Orleans. People would line up just for a bowl.
"Hello ma’am," Tiana had reached Colette’s booth. "Care for some free gumbo?"
Colette raised an eyebrow anxiously at the mention of the dish, she'd never heard of gumbo before. Considerably, she was beyond starving and would eat most anything. This dish could be good, and it was free! Nothing beat that.
"Please, I'm hungry anything will satisfy."

hiya, just a check in who do i owe?
looking to join a rp group just so i can feel part of something, any suggestions???
Arendele was unlike any place Colette had delivered too, usually Skinner only went too popular places, but he would stretch that for favourite customers. These people, however, were unlike anyone she’d ever delivered too. Skinner had never made contact so far out, and...
Colette studied the girl, she looked to be of younger age than colette, still mature though. She stood with formality, and had a kind composure about her face. Although firm, Colette could tell she defended what she believed in. A quality that was admired by Colette, deeply.
"Oh, no, no. Fine, I promise. We enjoyed preparing for this event. The princess and queen seem to be lovely, everyone in the town was raving about them! I mean, sure they are royalty, but still so much talk is only good for one thing, and that's cooking, you know." Colette laughed at her own joke, before shaking her head and smiling.
"You wouldn't happen to know where they are would you? I - hm?" Colette stopped right in her track, something she rarely did, and looked at the blonde.
"Oh, you're the queen? My apologies for not realizing, your majesty." Colette gave a curtsy, and stood silently with respect.
Colette wasn’t sure who she was to expect, but she had her eye on the lookout. It was near christmas time, and the overly generous Skinner gave all of the staff at Gusteaus’ one week off per year. It wasn’t much, at all, but working in one of the best restaurants in...
Colette nodded as the girl approached, she was just the kind of client that was expected. She seemed to be pretty graceful, but Colette had no clue how she worked in the kitchen. Rapunzel would hopefully make great company, that was just what Colette needed.
"Yes, Yes. Rapunzel, just the mademoiselle I was looking for. Colette, thank you for signing up. I would like to ask where you stand with cooking, beginner? Or are you more experienced? I don't like to waste time, you see." Colette spoke politely, returning Rapunzel's handshake curtly.
Colette was trying to recreate a desert she had seen millions of times done by chef skinner, but everything was more difficult without a recipe’s guidelines. She was going for a lemon puff pastry with a whipped vanilla bean glaze, something that took immense precision.
Colette felt like tossing the bowl, but decided on starting over. Anger would get her nowhere, and obviously would ruin anything she had going for her in Gusteaus. She'd learned that many times, and chosen to ignore it many other times too.
A sudden noise, not from any person - that much was obvious, was heard outside. Colette knew that many wandered the back streets of Paris trying to find food, and she wasn't too fond of the idea. But, she often tried to help out.
Colette ran out of the back of Gusteaus, and looked around. No one appeared to be there, but a shadow moved by the garbage can.
"Someone out there? Show yourself!"
"Nose stuck in a book? Nonsense, Ma Cherie! Go visit the real world, yeah?"
"Hmmm? Oh, well…it’s just that the worlds in my books seem so much more exciting than my life right now."
Colette furred her eyebrows slightly, and let out a sympathetic sigh. She’d been through many heartbreaks, and truthfully, sometimes looked for books as an outlet.
“Something the matter with your life right now? You know, we all have rough spots in our lives. Cook, Baker, Reader, no matter who you are.”
"Nothing really," Belle confessed, putting her book down. "I just want more adventure. Which I won’t get with my nose stuck in a book, I know," she added with a laugh.
Colette nodded, truthfully there was much more to the world than books.
"I hope you find your happy place, mademoiselle. In the mean time, I have to work, perhaps you’d like to stop in for an éclair and a cappuccino?"
"Do you work at a cafe nearby?" Belle questioned, even as her stomach rumbled at the mention of food. Had she had lunch today? She didn’t think so.
Colette nodded softly to the brunette, "Oui, not too far from here. I can get you in for free, my boss wouldn't mind if I say you're a personal friend."

"A talking candlestick? N'importe quoi.." Colette muttered, she must've had too many drinks with Skinner, for something unreal like this to occur.
Lumiere grinned widely at the stranger, before he reached out for her hand and placed a kiss on the back of it. “Bonjour, bonjour! I talk, yes. It is a pleasure to meet you. It has been years since we had a guest and you are a mademoiselle too! Mon dieu, you are a godsend!” She had to be the girl who would fall in love with the Master and break the enchantment.
Colette smiled at the candlestick as he openly kissed her cheek, how she wished she worked with such enchanting items! France was truly magical, and it's food was never second best. Although Colette thought highly of her cooking, she never considered herself a godsend. But, the candlestick said so, and she had no reason not to listen to him.
"Merci, and your name? I am Colette, thank you for such a warm greeting. Very much appreciated, monsieur!"
"Can you cook as fast as you run, monsieur?"
Dash stared up at the woman with a raised brow,
”You want me to cook?”
Colette laughed at the boys sudden surprise, he was very much like the children she'd seen.
"Non, Non. I don't need you to cook, I see enough of that every day. Run a couple laps around this building, i'd like to see how long it takes you."
"Nose stuck in a book? Nonsense, Ma Cherie! Go visit the real world, yeah?"

So, seafood is not on the menu? Melody + Colette
"Horst! Best behavior, we serve as examples of Gusteaus kitchen. Remember that, or i’ll hurt you," Colette spoke firmly to one of her co-workers.
She often felt like she took this job the most serious, other than Horst. But, with that said, Horst was constantly in a bad mood. Not that Colette wasn’t, but she had a different way with dealing with it. Everyone who worked at Gusteaus’ was ordered to cook for a princesses daughter. She was having a party of some sort, and they wished to have the best food money could buy. Colette had never heard of the family, but she would do whatever the job called upon.
They finally pulled up in front of the castle, which everyone assumed was where they’d be working for the next few days.
"Keep the gasps to a minimum Lalo. We’re here everyone,"
Melody smoothed out her soft yellow skirt a final time before the main doors opened completely, then straightened her back and put on an uncomfortable smile. In that moment, she despised her father for forcing her into that situation. First, it was his idea to have a party to help her make more friends with the children in the village. Then, he decided it would be good for her to make all the preparations like food and music. Of course, Melody appreciated the thought. But perhaps a little less thought would have been appreciated even more.
When the guests had all filed into the entrance, she allowed them a second to take in the castle. There was a swell of pride in her chest as she watched their expressions; she knew her home could be quite impressive.
The moment was over all too soon, and she realized she should probably introduce herself. Melody bit her lip and forced herself to not count how many there were in the group. Calm down, these aren’t he village kids, she reminded herself. They’re just here to do a job.
After a deep breath, Melody gave a practiced curtsey and spoke. “Welcome to Hycranian. I’m Princess Melody, and I’ll be in charge of the menu for the party on friday. I’d love to give you a tour of the castle, show you where you are staying, and introduce you to the kitchen. But first, is there a group- er- leader here?” Melody winced visibly at how awkward that sounded to her own ears.
Colette allowed a small smile appear on her face, she was no longer in the kitchen of a restaurant in Paris, but in a castle. It wasn't exactly surreal, because Colette knew that she was an amazing chef, and thought very highly of her cooking. Before the kitchen workers, stood what Colette assumed to be the princess Melody of Hycranian. She seemed too young to be living here on her own, so there had to be some sort of parents here as well.
Finally the girl spoke, addressing the group with a sense of formality, and friendliness. From the start, Colette admired her sense of courage. Rather than having her parents address the foreign cooks', she herself was there to do it. At the mention of a group leader, Lalo, Pompidou, and Larousse all glanced nervously between Colette and Horst.
"I, am the head of the chefs. Come to me when you have ideas, Mademoiselle. Thank you for choosing us, by the way." Colette spoke firmly, smiling at Melody.
