The Wedding of the Season
(Happy belated birthday, Bex!)

"They really released all those lanterns in the air? Every single year?" Quasimodo could only imagine what such a beautiful sight must be like. He had never seen anything like it back home in Paris.

Standing alone upon the small foredeck at the prow of her ship, Alanna took in a deep breath of salty sea air and grinned ferally. The winds were with her, speeding the Diamond's way even with half-furled sails and whipping the petite woman's wild curls about her face.
Today would be a good day, she could feel it.
As the dawn broke over the eastern horizon, she spotted her, the Linnet, right on time and right on the exact trade route expected.
“Ship ahoy!” The call came from the crow’s nest, and Alanna’s grin widened. Time for action.
This was going to be fun.
“Lower the sails fully and hoist the colors, boys!” Alanna ordered jovially, and her men went to work doing as their captain commanded.
The Diamond’s version of the Jolly Roger made its way up to the top of the mainmast, the image of a leopard’s face mid-roar in the gold of desert sands upon a midnight blue background flapping almost gaily in the wind.
Today they would show mercy.
As long as the crew of the merchant ship gave easy access to the valuables they carried, there would be minimal bloodshed and no lives lost. This was usually the case. Merchant ships might have a soldier or mercenary or two aboard within the crew, but that wasn’t good security against a full crew of bloodthirsty pirates like those aboard the Diamond. So Alanna had no expectations that they would need to shed many “innocent” sailors’ blood today.
“Put on your best game faces, boys! Ready the gangplank!”
So excitedly focused on her prize was she in these early morning hours that Alanna didn’t notice the other ship approaching from the opposite direction.

It was madness what he was asking her to do! No self-respecting vampire--besides her own twin--would rise from their coffin before the sun set for the day. However, there were two factors even she couldn't fight, he was technically her legal guardian and something about a certain urgency about the situation.
Except what did Melvin expect her to do, of all things? It wasn't like she could reverse the attack that had happened to this poor woman. He had mentioned, with being busy with their various affairs and business ventures, that he hadn't the time himself. So she was to be his eyes and ears effectively.
So in preparation her coffin was left open for the morning hours, their trusted housekeeper Celeste whom she only slightly frightened upon waking up, something of which was to be expected. Even though mild, awkward apologies were exchanged as the other woman readjusted those blonde locks into a half up, half down up do.
With her heavier black and white parasol thrown over her shoulder, she shifted down the streets. Every so often, the blonde would stop in a shadier spot, reaching into the hidden pocket underneath her skirts to pull out a worn slip of paper. At least it wasn't too much farther!
After a couple more blocks, what she assumed was the lady's shop came into view. Well, nothing seemed out of the ordinary at first glance, but she only peered in through the doorway, hovering right outside. He should've done this himself--no, keep with the task at hand. “Hullo? Is there anybody here?” A clearing of her throat, even though it was no longer necessary. “Miss…?”
In tribute to the Tangled-Xiaolin Showdown roleplay by @runningracingdancingchasing and @xiaolindude, here are some sketches of Rapunzel's life among the Xiaolin Warriors and her relationship with the 'Dragon of the Wind' Raimundo Pedrosa.
I started by showing the playful, sassy dynamics Rapunzel and Raimundo would exhibit between each other, then when they practise martial arts, Rapunzel playing a prank on Raimundo with Pascal ambushing him with a tongue in the ear. Rai gets grossed out while Rapunzel giggles uncontrollably.
Bex, or @runningracingdancingchasing, has shown Rapunzel to be a good friend, or even surrogate sister with Xiaolin 'Dragon of Fire' Kimiko Tohomiko. Having such a close relationship, Rapunzel and Kimiko have challenged each other to a race. Notice Master Fung and Dojo watching the two playing their little game.
Next Raimundo is making use of his elemental power to lift Rapunzel into the air so she can kick some butt from above. Notice Pascal hanging onto Rapunzel's lengthened hair for dear life!
As well as deep lovers, Raimundo and Rapunzel can be fierce fighters, Raimundo bowling over some ninjas and Rapunzel slashing them with her golden hair as though it were a whip.
Art is still a hobby of Rapunzel's, and who better to sketch the beauty of the human body than her Brazilian beau? Of course, Rapunzel, in just her vest and short shorts, doesn't mind in the slightest that Raimundo volunteers to let her paint him with his shirt off. Pascal is serving as her second opinion while she paints, but it seems Pascal will praise her artwork no matter how it looks.
Lastly Rapunzel and Raimundo, who's got on a Brazilian flag shirt, share a passionate kiss near a soothing seasape. For Rapunzel, Raimundo is everything she could want out of partner, life among the Xiaolin monks giving her a life beyond her wildest dreams. His wind powers and her sun-infused hair intertwine just like their relationship and many romantic adventures are in store for Raimundo and Rapunzel.
Hope this is to both your liking, @runningracingdancingchasing and @xiaolindude and it was a lot of fun coming up with these scenarios to bring your roleplay to life.
Going by the colors on Rapunzel's paint palette in the pic where Eugene is hugging her from behind, do you have a mental image of what it is Rapunzel's painting?
Honestly when i put the first color there i had no idea what she was painting, but then i put the green and brown and just decided it was some kind of forested landscape.
Aside from her loved ones, i do think Rapunzel would enjoy painting landscapes a lot. It's a testament to her freedom, after all, that she's able to see and recreate all these new sights.

Given that Mellie had spent most of her life around beaches, it was understandable that Melvin himself knew where most of them were in the London area alone--granted that meant a few hours away. Yet getting there was half the fun. He'd started talking with Rapunzel and Mellie a few days ago about it, deciding on that Penmon Point was the perfect place that what could only be term as the 'perfect beach'.
It was the perfect stargazing, had bioluminescent water and you could view the Aurora borealis! For the occasion, he'd waxed his motorcycle and got Gnocchi a little helmet, along with Rapunzel as well. Safety first after all! Since he'd got back, he not only adopted the Boston Terrier, but bought the motorcycle and modified it; to be able to fly no less. After all, he hadn't wanted to make a five-hour trip and instead opted for an hour and half instead.
They'd just landed extremely smoothly for two people and a dog on a motorcycle, the blonde male grinning from ear to ear as he looked back at his companions. "Ya a'right back there, Punzie? I tried not to land too hard." He couldn't judge how she was doing, and so he removed his helmet as to see her and Gnocchi better.

Seagulls soar through the air, and some land on the masts of the ship as it docks. Luisa has to hold her hand up to keep her hair and the sun out of her eyes. Nearly any nook or corner in the harbor bore the golden sun design on purple fields, she noted, as she got in line to disembark. Finally, land!
After Luisa got off the ship, bidding the crew farewell, she makes her way off the docks and further into the harbor, trying to find a place to gather herself and take the new sights in. Yes. here too she’s one of the tallest persons around, but she tries to let that slide past her (as well the looks some people give her) as she looks up, and catches sight of the magnificent palace built on top the hills.
“Whoa,” Luisa uttered, and took her time to look around. It’s a lot to take in. The buildings were different, the clothes people wore were different, even the birds in the sky or in the trees hell, even the smells were different than where she had gotten onto the ship some months ago.
