man I feel bad for Teo. Because what Emma said here is probably what he felt when he first came to Earth seeking refuge after seeing H12 be destroyed, yet now he's here trying to protect his new home only to see how he too as an 'unknown' is scary to humans...(which is all the more confirmed considering what Hiura said) it's really about how to humans, extraterrestrial creatures are 'aliens' while to the aliens WE are the aliens. I can also talk about how I feel Teo may be an allegory for refugees IRL but I think that's smth I can talk about in another post :)
