This was my piece for Draw the Line silent auction at Nucleus. They raised almost 15K to donate to ACLU that night! Truly tip of the hat to peeps who created/managed this event and people who contributed!!!👏👏👏  My piece was inspired by Bernie Sanders' speech at Women's March. Never going backwards, only moving forwards:)

耳なし芳一 (Hoichi the Earless) was blind lute player. Ghosts of Heike loved his music so much, that the monk who took care of Hoichi worried that the ghosts gonna take him away. So the monk's assistant wrote chant all over his Hoichi's body to be invisible to the ghosts. But the assistant forgot to write on Hoichi's ears...so his ears were stolen by the ghost of Samurai.
