Don't Steal Sand In Hawai'i
Animated Narrative
1 Generating Ideas
I've been surrounded by urban legends since I could remember because of where I'm from and my culture. I think it would be fun to make an animated narrative with my spin on it. I would like to have a variety of my drawings or pictures and edit it on photoshop.
2. Narrative Framework
Situation - In Hawai'i, there's a tour guide telling tourist not to take anything connected to the islands for example sand, rocks shells etc. of bad luck will occur.
Conflict - A women ignored the warning and she decided to take some sand and sea shells back home.
Resolution - Later, a string of bad events happened to her.
Denouement - She returned the things she got from the islands.

Self Reflection
On the first variation of the Charley Harper piece without the pen tool or tracing, I primarily used the shape tools such as the rectangles, eclipse and the star to make triangles. For the eyes. I just combined thin rectangles and placed a circle. With the odd shapes of the leaves, I made triangles and cut it with the knife tool to make the sharp angles. I also used pathfinder and divide to make the white part of the tiger's face. Because this piece is symmetrical I used copy and paste so it would be easy to duplicate the shapes and I would then reflect the object.
For the other variations, it was much easier because I was able to use the pen tool. It became very useful when lining up with curves and to make the right shapes since the original image was beneath it. I also used the knife tool. lots of copy and paste to make it symmetrical and with the other variations i played with color. With variation #4 I changed up the background and used the gradient tool. For the remix, i completely changed the color of the bamboo leaves and made the piece with an overall red with different values of red. The background has a dark red that is texturized and the tiger is also texturized with a darker orange.

For my future fauna animal I used an anteater's body, a lion fish's spikes and a monkey tail. To make the animal more cohesive I used the lion fish's red orange and placed in on the animals body.
Future Fauna Backstory
5000 years in the future, the world in now joined by robots. Robots and human live side by side in total harmony. They come in different forms such as animals and human like drones. These robots were invented by scientist to keep the world in order, in a state of peace and balance and also to prevent deforestation. In the Brazilian rain forest, a friendly herbivore roams around the rain forest consuming vegetation such as venus fly traps. It is sadly blind, however its other senses are strengthened. It has a great of smell with it long snout that has many sensors to detect it food or smell other animals near it. Its fur is mainly brown with a hint of vibrant red orange throughout different parts of its body. It also has a strong fluffy tail able to carry itself from vine to vine so it can find more plants and be more accessible to escape dangerous situations. However, when this animal in feeling threatened, it is able to stab its predators with its colorful venomous spines.
