Keith is the second-born son and youngest boy of the Johnson family, who were born and raised in Kismet Harbor. He has an older brother and a younger sister. The family had been in town for years before and found it the place to be to raise their families. Keith was a happy young boy, active and enjoyed going to school. He loved to go camping with his family, but it ended up being more of a boys' trip with his father as the years went by. But every year or two his mother and sister would come along. It was always something he enjoyed and cared about. Hiking for half of the day, setting up a tent and enjoying a week away from it all.
Keith played sports growing up, enjoying soccer and basketball, and just going to the gym as he got older. He learned to care about his body and health, and even as a teenager and young adult, he tended to maintain a good diet. He was close to his older sister, Clementine, and was happy when she found her way, got married, and started a family of her own. He wanted that too; he wanted a big family of his own, but was focused on getting ready for college as his sister began building hers.
While Keith was in college, tragedy struck when his sister was killed in a car accident. The loss shook the entire family and hit Keith especially hard. He took a year away from school, spending much of that time backpacking around Europe and trying to make sense of the grief he carried with him. During that time, he did a great deal of soul-searching and realized that medicine was where he truly felt called to be. He returned home with a renewed sense of purpose and changed his studies, pursuing a path toward obstetrics and gynecology. It was not because of the accident itself, but because he felt in his heart that caring for others, helping families, and bringing new life into the world was what he was meant to do.
He loved what he does, caring for women in town who are pregnant and seeing them grow and give life to their families. There have been many times now where he helped deliver a little girl, and years later helped that same girl, once she was grown, have a baby of her own. Moments like that remind him why he chose this path and why he continues to dedicate himself to his patients every day.
Family has always mattered to him and he stayed close to his family in town even with the heartbreak his family had to deal with. He was lucky when he found Hannah in college; they clicked right away and dated all through college, getting married right before he graduated. They were made in heaven. Lily, in the medical field herself, understood the demands of his career, and though both were often busy with work, they always found ways to make it work, remaining a strong and loving couple.
Both were busy with their line of work, and Keith worried about balancing family life with the demands of medicine. Though they never had a child of their own, they adopted a child a few years into their marriage. She was around twelve years old and named Tali. She came from a past, but it just lined up for him and his wife to adopt her. But work always came first for the Johnson family, they did care and raise Tali as their own but they never had kids of their own. But caring about work and the family around them.
Keith loves every child and family he helps make a part of his family in his own way. Soon enough, after working in Kismet for 18 years, he knew he was going to start helping babies being born from babies he had already helped be born, and he's excited for that future.
