"I don't think I'm good at this." Talia laughed as she held up what was supposed to be a paper boat. She had gotten all the stuff to make some with both Trey and Sadie, but it was becoming clear to her that she had failed at hers. But then again, she decided to wing it versus following the instructions she had printed out for them all. "I may need to start over." She laughed and put the paper aside before grabbing another.

Trey looked to Talia as she spoke, though he had been checking in on her progress with quick glances while helping Sadie with hers. "This is what you get for not following the instructions, T." He shook his head, gaze shifting to Sadie. "See, this is why I always tell you to read the instructions first and then read them again while you work. Or else you end up having to start over like Aunt Talia here." He jested, gently nudging Talia with his elbow. @taliaxjohnson

Ollie grinned and playfully patted his own chest in admiration, "Uncle Ollie is the best, and definitely loves his niece." He chuckled lightly before looking over at the young girl and smiled to himself, that little girl had him wrapped around her finger. He was a sucker for kids, always had been and always would be. "She's a good kid, I wonder where she got it from," he teased his friend playfully before turning back to him and leaning back against the bench. "A magician never reveals his secrets you know, but," he leaned closer, "candy works wonders with kids. It's a trade secret from work, if it gets out I'd be ruined." @treyxwilder

"Yeah, probably not from me, right?" He chuckled with a shake of his head. The truth was, she got a lot of her good qualities from her father. Trey had done his best to help continue to shape her since gaining custody of her, hoping that he wasn't failing her. Another laugh left his lips. "Ah, candy. I don't know why I didn't think of that." He joked, tapping his temple with his pointer finger. "I promise that your secret is safe with me." Trey crossed his fingers as he grinned at Ollie. "I wouldn't dare betray you like that." @olliehoffmann

He looked over at Treyvon and laughed, "Please, young man," he teased, saying young man. "I do hikes like this in my sleep." he was older, yes, but he did days on days hikes and coming all the time. A few times he did them alone, but to be safe, he always tried to go with a group or a friend. It was nice since he had a lot of people who would hike and camp like he did. He paused as he looked over at where they were and the trail ahead of them. "Looks about right." Glad he had someone who knew the lay of the land just as well as he did. "I came out on my own like last month," he thought of the time, maybe almost two months at this point "I went off from here a bit to that rock point," he pointed towards it 'I just needed a getaway...." he did it at times when his work got to him. @treyxwilder

"You say that like it's an insult," he chuckled with Keith's comment about him being a young man. "I am young and damn proud of it." He grinned teasingly in the other's direction. There were a lot of reasons he was grateful to be on the younger side, but he also was not afraid of growing older. "That's a nice place," he said, following Keith's gesture. "I've come out this way a few times." Though, less since becoming the legal guardian of Sadie. He liked to put aside plenty of time to spend with her. "Work been tough?" He asked, figuring that the man had never complained about his marriage in the past. Not that he felt like Keith complained about work, either, but he knew the job came with its challenges. @keithxjohnson

Somber loneliness slowly caught up with her. Harlow's mind had lingered in a place of oddity, far from her usual blithe and sun-tinted world of thought was overcast by a thick layer of clouds. Contrary to the clear sky that began to darken its shade of eternal blue, now that the sun had set. Bonfires had a way of calming her, even if she despised the smell of smoke and burnt wood, that her clothes carried into the next day. The cup between her fingers was almost forgotten, as her thoughts went astray, ventured further off the path that kept her tied to this reality. She thought of her friends. Her parents. Her accomplishment. And before she could seize the opportunity to explorer whether or not she deemed her days fulfilling enough, a man's voice stole Harlow from her trance, moments after she claimed a seat closer to the flames' warmth. She turned her head, eyes wide as if he'd caught her doing something wrongful. It took her a second's worth to realize his question's meaning. And then, she nodded. "I guess so." To a friend, she'd sound somber, to a stranger probably merely tired. She looked into her cup, half full. "I love the bonfires. You get to meet all kinds of people but," she shrugged, "it's kind of nice when it's more quiet." @treyxwilder

The response resonated with Trey. There was an energy to bonfires that made him feel more alive when he was with them. Yet, the quiet that followed allowed for reflection and deeper conversation as people retired to their homes for the evening. "It is my favorite part of bonfires," Trey admitted with a slight nod of his head. "To me, it's when people start to open up the most. Everyone's so focused on catching up during the start of a bonfire, bouncing from group to group depending how many people are here, but this," his gaze lingered on the finger once more, "this is where people really take the time to talk to one another and it means something." @harlowhanlon

The sun had long set behind the ocean's horizon and the water lapped rhythmically against the shore. It hadn't been well heard with a dozen plus people sitting around the bonfire, but people had slowly started to take off. Conversations shifted, quieting down from the original rowdiness that had been happening at the beginning of the evening. Trey sat on a log, watching the flames dance before him. His cup was almost empty, but he hadn't bothered getting up to refill it yet. He turned, shifting slightly to the person sitting next to him. "Sticking around a while longer, too?"

Fishing wasn't exactly something Trey had done before, but Sadie wanted to try it. He was surprised, considering she tended to be a young kid that wanted to keep clean. Yet, who was he to deny her such an experience. Trey, however, reached out to Brody, who he knew would be of more help. Sadie was set up with her line in the water and Trey stood behind her a few paces with Brody, arms loosely crossed over his chest. "I appreciate you being able to help out with this." He told the man, knowing that he was busy raising a newborn of his own. "She was really adamant about trying it."

Treyvon adjusted the pack straps that rested against his shoulders, tightening the waist belt as they walked. They were halfway to their campsite. They'd already hiked and camped for the last day and a half and it wouldn't be long before they were ready to hit their post for the evening once more. "How'ya feeling there old man?" He flashed a grin in Keith's direction. A playfulness was imbedded in his words before he turned his attention back to the trail ahead of them. The sun was high over head, casting golden light through the forest trees. "Shouldn't be more than another hour or two before we stop again."

Trey shook his head, feigning disbelief as he watched Sadie go higher on the swing. "Hey, not too high." He called out to his daughter, "I'm not trying to end up in the emergency room this early into the summer." A huff of laughter passed over his lips as he loosely crossed his arms over his chest. "I don't know what you've been bribing her with, but it's clearly worked."
