The other day, Ha-eun had spoken to him about this project, that the garden bed needed to be redone and rebuilt. They had been at it a while, Keith cutting the wood to size, Ha-eun making it become something. They helped each other along the way as they worked. Even though the days were not too hot, working outdoors in the sun, man, it was warm, and over time, overworking, he had taken his shirt off to cool off a little. "it looks so great, better then ever," higher up so they could stand and not have to be down on the ground anymore. "I think it's about time," he said, looking at his watch, seeing it was midday. "I think as long as we don't have them for lunch today, they will be okay." he already had shade up for the project, so the plants would be okay while they took a break. @haeunxyangjohnson

The brunette's laughter was soft at her husband's words. "Of course, we won't be having them for lunch. At least not today," she jested in return with him. "Do you want a grilled cheese or a cold sandwich?" She asked him, reaching for the pitcher of lemonade that rested on the table outside. Sweat glistened the side of it, but the ice hadn't melted all the way. "Or I can prepare us a salad?" She knew that neither of them would want something particularly challenging for lunch, especially if they planned to get back to work after. @keithxjohnson

Although it might have sounded a bit odd to say out loud, there was something Natalie found almost meditative about participating in the clean ups, especially ones like today where you could just pick up a grabber and get into almost a flow state picking up trash piece by piece. Ha-eun's voice penetrated the attorney's focus and she looked up, taking a second to fully register the comment. "I know, it's honestly kind of mind boggling. I mean, it's certainly not as bad as in the big cities I've lived in like Oakland or New York, but still." The raven-haired woman let out a small sigh. "Still, it's good to see so many people out here wanting to help." Nat added, trying not to get too stuck on the negative.

Ha-eun nodded her head to the woman's words. "Yeah, I lived in San Diego for my college years and some before," she started, reaching for yet another piece of trash. "Nothing will compare to the big cities," another pause. "But you're right, it's nice to see everyone come together." If there was one thing about Kismet Harbor that she loved, it was the sense of community. "Kismet does always care about it's community at the end of the day. I'd imagine most of this is from our visitors." @natalie-makan

Ha-eun stepped back, wiping sweat from her brow line. Her hair was tied messily into a pony tail, one she had done out of frustration from the heat that was building beneath it. She reached for her cup of water, looking at the half built raised garden bed that was in front of her. Between the two of them, they'd been working on the garden bed since the morning. She sipped on the glass of water, watching her husband for a beat. "This is one of my favorite projects yet." She smiled at him now, despite how hot she felt. "Do you think we should pause for a lunch break?" Her brow raised in a direction. "I think our tomato plants will forgive us if we take a little longer to finish."

The bell above the door chimed as Ha-eun stepped inside. She was immediately greeted not only by the coffee but the barista that had long memorized her order. The early morning rush seemed to be dying off some and handful of tables had opened up. Standing in line, her order was available as she stepped up to the register to pay. She accepted it with a warm thanks to the barista for before finding Teagan seated at their usual table. "I'm glad you made it." Ha-eun had been a bit worried, if she were honest, that Teagan might bail with all things considering. She sat down across from her, "How are you doing?"

"You know, I'm not really sure why we are doing this." Ha-eun stood in front of the open bedroom closet, holding a sweater in one hand. One that she had owned for fifteen years. "It all still fits." Mostly. She glanced toward the growing pile on the bed, one that Talia had deemed fit enough for donation. "I wore this for that band concert you had or maybe it was high school graduation." A crease formed between her brows as she frowned thoughtfully. "It all blends together after a while." Despite her minor complaints, she felt a smile tugging on the corners of her lips. Ha-eun had volunteered for enough community clean up projects over the years to know there were at least two types of people that showed up. There were the ones that enjoyed helping and then there were the ones that were only there because they had enthusiastically agreed weeks ago, thinking someone wouldn't remember. She wasn't sure which category her partner fell into, today. Ha-eun balanced a trash grabber and an orange bucket, offering the woman a smile as they worked the same stretch of brush line at the park. Birthday parties often wrecked havoc with trash. "It always amazes me how much people don't seem to care." Ha-eun stated plainly, looking to the trash.
