Hey, tumblr. It's been awhile.
We escalate, up in this bitch like elevators Of course sometimes shit go down When it’s a billion dollars on an elevator
2009 // 2015
nothing has changed.
Day 23: Describe a memory from 2013. Any memory.
This is easy - I'll talk about the time I stood front row at a Justin Timberlake show which inevitably ruined me for all other concerts, ever.
A friend of mine let me know that he was playing at the Palladium in Hollywood, which for those of you who don't know is a small-ish standing-room-only venue. Holy shit. Tickets were around $40 so of course I bought them, but I knew this was my chance to sit up front, and I couldn't blow it.
In comes TaskRabbit. If you've never used TaskRabbit, you basically hire people to do things for you. As I'm quite versed in the whole, "get to a show many, many hours early in order to be up front" thing, I hired a TaskRabbit - Jim - to secure my place in line. He and his friend arrived at the Palladium at around 11a, and we took over around 6p.
As this show was immediately following Mr. Timberlake's grammy performance, it was a late one. We weren't let into the venue until around 9p, and he didn't go on until at least 11p. But it was all worth it - every minute.
Note: there is absolutely no zoom on this photo. Not pictured: Jay Z, Timbaland.
After this show I saw him three more times in 2013, and as shitty as 2013 was in other areas of life, this was magical.
Day 22: Are you a judgmental person? Do you have high standards for others?
yep
I want to support young girls who are in their 20s now and tell them: You’re not just imagining things. It’s tough. Everything that a guy says once, you have to say five times.
Björk (via pitchfork)
Day 21: Do you get angry at yourself or do you get sad? Do you get angry at other people or do you get disappointed? Is there a reason for this?
With myself, I'm brutal. I get angry, sad, disappointed - you name it. I'm a pretty harsh critic. When it comes to others, I'm pretty chill, to be honest. I've gotten angry and sad, of course, but if someone makes me angry I generally just move on from them. I don't need that in my life, yo.
need this hair
Day 17: Do you notice the little things? Do you appreciate people noticing the little things you do?
I actually don't think I notice the little things. My boyfriend will even tell you that I have poor "situational awareness." And usually when I do something I'll come out and say it. "I did all the dishes this morning! I made you coffee! I put away all your clothes!" I'm a real joy.
Day 18: What is the most meaningful song to you right now?
This survey was written for highschoolers.
Day 19: When was the last time you cried?
Last Thursday watching Parenthood.
Day 20: When was the last time you got furious?
I don't think I've been truly furious since high school when one of the girls blew our chance at state (bc I was, lyke, a cheerleader) because she didn't go to practice the day before. She was at a fucking show choir performance and because of her we missed qualifying for state by like six tenths of a point. I'm still bitter. Dumb idiot.
Day 16: What are some things you can see yourself always enjoying no matter how old you get?
podcasts, justin timberlake, shapes macaroni and cheese, dark chocolate, The Hills, going out to eat, my dog
Day 15: Have you ever completed a challenge before?
Definitely. This past fall I went through spin teacher training and recently completed a juice cleanse. So fucking Los Angeles.
Day 14: For the past 2 days, you have discussed why it is bad or good to be positive or pessimistic. Is it better to be positive or pessimistic?
omg shut up
Day 12: What are the pros for being optimistic? The cons?
The pros are the obvious - you probably spend a lot less time worrying about everything. The cons are also obvious - you could possibly be disappointed more often.
Day 13: What are the pros for being pessimistic? The cons?
Read above, but switch all that shit around where appropriate.
Day 10: For those who are feeling down, and it can include yourself, tell them why life is genuinely amazing.
Because things like dogs and macaroni and cheese exist.
i literally never get tired of this post
PREACH
Day 9: What gets you up in the morning?
My stomach's usually growling first thing, sooooo I'll say food.
Day 8: List 2 things you dislike about yourself. how can you improve upon these flaws?
1. I've always thought of myself as aggressively non-competitive. However, lately I'm starting to realize that the reason for the visceral shut-it-down reaction I have toward competition is really the fact that I'm terrified of failing*
2. I have a serious caffeine addiction**
* Take more risks? Be okay with failing? I don't know.
** Definitely cut back on coffee. It hurts my soul, though.
