My thoughts on the Chicago PD finale:

I went into it not expecting an Upstead happy ending. Obviously I wanted it just as much as everyone else. But guys, remember who the showrunner is (she’s terrible), remember what kind of show Chicago PD has always been. It. Wasn’t. Going. To. Happen. Everyone needs to let that go. That’s what we have fanfiction for and so many of you are brilliant Upstead writers. Keep leaning into that and keep creating that art.

I was grossed out by all the father talk with Voight. Like seriously hated it. BUT I choose to take the positives. 1 - Hailey is free. We even got a little smile at the end. And it’s so open ended that she can literally go anywhere and do anything and be with anyone. 2 - Hailey’s a badass. And she’s an incredible cop. It sucks that it was him she had to save but she would’ve done that for anyone and I like that we got to see that one final time. 3 - I love Hailey and Jo. Which is crazy considering it’s such a new relationship. 4 - And finally.. Tracy Spiridakos is a phenomenal actress. I know we already knew this but my god she’s so good. Focus on that this episode and it’ll completely change your view on it. They will never fill the hole she is going to leave.

I can’t wait to see what she does next!!

Can one of you amazing fic writers write something where Hailey does take Kevin up on grabbing a drink with him and Kim?? Maybe that’s where the “I’m angry” conversation can happen instead?

Give me more Upwater scenes please! I was also totally cool with it being all Hailey/Kim/Kevin in this episode 🤷🏻‍♀️

My thoughts on S11 Chicago PD/Upstead

I might be hopelessly optimistic here but I think we are going to get an Upstead happy ending. Although the things GS has said in interviews so far is concerning, all of you keep saying how last year everything she said in interviews was way off. So why wouldn’t that be the case with this too? I mean really, what is she supposed to say? “Oh yeah Jesse is coming back and they’ll ride off into the sunset together!” No way would she spoil that.

Besides that, I choose to believe that Tracy and Jesse have some sway in how this story ends after all these years. Tracy using the #upsteadforever hashtag, Jesse with his winking trust the process, and Tracy with that damn doll!

I realize at the end of that day they aren’t the writers/show runner. I also realize that this show is a drama, so happy endings aren’t required. But they can’t really be that stupid to have this end badly right? Somebody at the network has got to be listening to the fans.

We’ll see how this first episode goes.. but even it looks bad after this, just remember we have 13 episodes to work with. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Well I told myself to wait it out even if this first episode was rough… but I’ve changed my mind. With the way GS described the upstead relationship and Jesse’s now deleted tweet… it’s not happening ☹️

Let’s all just continue to support Tracy because she deserves it. And maybe we’ll still get a satisfying ending for her, even if it doesn’t involve Jay.
