Would you say that you’re looking for a partner in crime?
happy pride month (screams and cries)
i just don't think 16 minutes is going to cover it
i think what really pisses me off about deleting the cas sewing scene is that i think of cas as a very hands forward person. remember this post about cas looking at his hands as a grounding technique? you know how cas could heal dean with a thought but he does it with touch anyway? to be tactile and tender? he is a character who desperately wants to participate in the acts of creation and repair and making things whole and new. that's why i think he would take up weaving or whittling or some other hands-on craft. or sewing!!
and they took away such a emotional meaningful scene showing exactly that because it wasn't important to sam and dean's journey
#spn is about castiel's hands actually #starting with the handprint #and ending with one via @alltoowellcas
it's about! contact! the laying on of hands! what's palpable and tangible!
for those of you who have never seen it:
and the context of this scene and the episode its in ties in soo well with the post i linked above
cas realizes that gabriel and the situation that they are in is fake because the inner lining of his trenchcoat is not torn like it was in the real world
in the aired version of the episode, there is a flashback to the beginning of the episode when cas ripped his coat at the moment that he realizes this has all been fake.
but in the full version of the episode with the deleted scenes, there is no flashback because we've already had the visual reminder of his torn coat through the mending scene
cas uses the evidence (or lack thereof!) of work he did with his hands to understand that reality and his perception of it has been altered!
not only would it have been a good character moment for us to see the condition he's in wrt his grace, but it also would have served the narrative arc of the episode better to keep the scene in
fish out of water
I wish gay people were real
here's your periodic reminder that every time castiel is ever shirtless or barechested, it either occurs in a season where jeremy carver was showrunner, OR if during the kripke administration, occurs in an episode that jeremy carver wrote. he even wrote 4.20 the rapture, where we first see jimmy novak out of his coat and in a t shirt, as well as 5.03 free to be you and me, where cas has his tie loosened and collar undone!
Thank you season 4 gag reel
“I carved you into a new animal, Dean. There is no going back.”
“Maybe you’re right … but now it’s my turn to carve.”
remember when heaven put Cas on Uriel's leash because he was a bit too curious and sympathetic for a wrath of god... yeah I do
morning star linocut
he’s gay for real. isn’t that so awesome
dean absolutely smashing up that car in frustration was fun but if sam got to get real angry and bitchy and key that shit out of spite just once it would've been hilarious
@soupernatural love the vision
*continues a conversation from 9 years ago* and another thing I’ll never forgive spn for is the way the narrative never fully gave cas credit for everything he did for the winchesters ESPECIALLY up until s8 (sorry I didn’t watch past that yes im still qualified to speak on this im literally lgbt) he was isolated , kicked out of heaven, recovering from being crazy which WAS BC HE SACRIFICED HIMSELF AGAIN.. (So that makes his soul, body and MIND that he’s sacrificed, for those keeping track at home) and yet what did he get for it. another dean lecture? bobby making a smart ass comment? him having to blink and disappear to god doesn’t know where and be alone and melancholy and in love? whatever bro like, yeah we got some good moments in the later seasons and #DeanReciprocated will be etched onto my tombstone but I won’t forgive and forget s7 I really won’t
