When I found out Makoto Shinkai released a new movie, I was excited, but once I watched the trailer the movie only looked okay. I watched about 3 other films written by him and I was always amazed by the artwork, so I just took note that when it gets released online I would watch it. This movie was released in August 2016 in Japan. After the release, this movie was talked about everywhere and how it is one of the greatest films ever. I watched 5cm per second by Makoto Shinkai and loved the story line so I thought no way this film can beat that amazing movie. This movie was talked about for months, then in December 2016, they announced that Kimi no Na wa will be shown in select theaters in America. I decided to wait until April for the release date and yesterday, April 9, 2017. I waited months for this film to be out and I finally watched it. Since the start of the movie until the end of the movie I was amazed. I cried 5 times throughout the movie and I broke down and cried 20 mins in the car after the movie. I think this is probably the best anime movie I’ve watched and I am happy I waited so long for this movie because it was worth watching this in theaters. Everyone needs to watch this movie once, and I will not forget about this beautiful movie. I rewatched this movie again, today but on my computer. I still cried a lot of times, but this movie gives me so much happiness and sadness. The music is lovely too. I will buy the DVD once it comes out. Thank you Kimi no Na wa for this experience.
