Eileen Myles, "The Irony of the Leash" from I Must Be Living Twice: New and Selected Poems 1975 - 2014
I love Taylorās specific brand of hopeless romanticism where sheās like I went to a park to read specifically to look cute and available in case by soulmate wandered by, I saw a nice waiter and dreamt up an entire future for us on the east coast, we had one (1) dance and now Iāve named all ten of our children, I like you SO much I wanna fight you at a dinner party š„°
I love how in happiness she's like "your future gf's a fool" and then 2 seconds later she's like "oh my gosh that was so mean im so sorry"

Iām elated to tell you that my 9th studio album, and folkloreās sister record, will be out tonight at midnight eastern. Itās called evermore. To put it plainly, we just couldnāt stop writing songs. To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in. Iāve never done this before. In the past Iāve always treated albums as one-off eras and moved onto planning the next one after an album was released. There was something different with folklore. In making it, I felt less like I was departing and more like I was returning. I loved the escapism I found in these imaginary/not imaginary tales. I loved the ways you welcomed the dreamscapes and tragedies and epic tales of love lost and found into your lives. So I just kept writing them. And I loved creating these songs with Aaron Dessner, Jack Antonoff, WB, and Justin Vernon. Weāve also welcomed some new (and longtime) friends to our musical kitchen table this time aroundā¦

āWhen I teach, I tell my students: Donāt measure your worth through your pages [ā¦] You measure your worth by your questions. What kind of questions are you asking yourself? What are you trying to discover in the work, and are those questions inexhaustible? The fact that you cannot answer them right away is the very fact why you should stay with them. Take them for a walk. Collaborate.ā
