Morning After | {Open}
Kendra slipped out of the quaint, two story rancher that she'd spent the night in, needlessly locking it behind her. There was a moment of hesitation once she was outside, her eyes scanning the neighboring houses for any sign of life. It was still early, but she'd already stayed longer than she normally did. It'd taken hours for her to finally regain control over her inner-wolf and shift back. Luckily the sidewalk was vacant, and the only sounds belonged to chattering birds. She took the two steps down to the street and hurried off, wanting to get as far away as she could from the dead body on the other side of the door. Or what was left of one, anyway. She closed her eye tightly, willing the images out of her mind.
Her temple throbbed. Even when being choked to death, her victim had had one hell of a left hook. The full moon had set her on edge, and her carelessness could have costed her. Even with her quickened healing, her eyebrow still had a nasty split in it, and yellowing bruises framed her face. She hoped she wouldn't have to call in tonight. Maybe by then it would be healed enough to doctor with concealer.
She wasn't far from home with the sound of her name caused her head to jerk up and her spine to stiffen. Damn it, she thought. She turned hesitantly to see who'd called to her, hoping her hair would cover the worst of the injury. She wasn't sure how'd she'd explain it. "Morning," She forced a smile onto her face and hoped that they wouldn't want to talk for long.
