Just some gender/sexuality headcanons for haikyuu characters

- Hinata is a bisexual transboy.  He’s dating kageyama, but had a huge crush on Kiyoko for a while.  He leans more towards girls because he finds them really pretty and lovely.  Kageyama is always getting onto Hinata for wearing his binder for too long.  To prevent this, he bought his boyfriend a sports bra to wear during practice

- Kageyama is genderfluid and super gay.  He had the biggest crush on Iwaizumj for the longest time until he started liking Hinata.

- Suga is bigender and panromantic asexual.  He mainly identifies as a boy and dating Daichi, who is fine with Suga being whatever Suga is.

- Tanaka is straight and cis, but will fight anyone who is remotely homophobic or transphobic to his friends.

- Noya is a hyper bisexual, who loves Asahi with all his heart.  He still gawks over Kiyoko, because she’s so pretty and Asahi is fine with that.

- Asahi is nonbinary and tends to experience a lot of gender dysphoria, because of how masculine they appear.  They’re pansexual and Noya always comes to the rescue on really bad dysphoria days.

- Kenma is genderfluid and demiromantic, and it took Kuroo years to build the bond they needed to date.  He also wears a little sticker that says his daily pronouns so you can’t misgender him.

- Kuroo is gay and will fight you if you mess up Kenma’s pronouns. - Daichi is super gay and loves Suga so much.

- Tsukishima is a gay demiboy who protects yamaguchi as if his life depends on it. He’s also super bitter whenever you mess up his pronouns (like if you called him a boy on a they day).

- Yamaguchi doesn’t really know his sexuality, but he’s genderfluid (he/them) and loves hugging and leaning on Tsukishima.

- Yachi is a smol lesbian transgirl who is still amazed at how pretty Kiyoko is and loves cuddling her girlfriend.

- Kiyoko is panromantic asexual and bingender (she/them) and makes sure the entire team respects yachi’s (and any other genderqueer players) pronouns.

-  Iwaizumj is pansexual transboy who is dating oikawa.  Iwa experiences really bad gender dysphoria, so oikawa gets everything feminine that he needs.

- Oikawa is homoromantic asexual and threatened the entire team that if they’re transphobic then they’re off the team.

- Bokuto is biromantic demisexual and dating akaashi.  

- Akaashi is genderfluid and demiromantic asexual and tells everyone his daily pronouns at morning practice.  He doesn’t really mind mess-ups, unless it’s a bad dysphoria day for him.

- Ennoshita is gay and loves tanaka.  He’s also bigender and Tanaka’s sister helps him feel girly on his girl days.  Tanaka is straight, so Ennoshita respects that, but that doesn’t mean that Ennoshita stops liking him.

- Aone is gay and loves Hinata, but understands that he doesn’t have a chance.

trans boy!hinata is my other fave karasuno gender headcanon tho ugh 

my mind instantly jumps to angst for this one tho like imagine how low-key shitty it would have felt for him having to play with the girls’ volleyball team and possibly being mistaken for one of the girls? and how low-key shitty all the teasing he gets for his height would be cause it’s this constant reminder that hey afab ppl tend to be shorter than amab ppl.

But then all the guys in karasuno just kind of accept him as one of the dudes and dont care that he’s shorter and not as masculine as the others cause they value him as a friend and a teammate and a great player!!!! and he’s finally on a proper boy’s volleyball team and he’s just as good as them and can totally hold his own despite constantly being told he’s not a “real boy” and that girls are physically weaker than “real men” and he’ll never keep up but he totally proves himself. 

And then ofc there’s changing room stuff like sure he can wear boxers to disguise the downstairs bits and he has a reasonably androgynous figure anyway like he’s not super hourglass-y with a narrow waist and wide hips or wide but there’s not a lot he can do about hiding his binder or his kinda narrow shoulders. So he gets a bit of playful teasing from the guys for being shy and changing in the toilets but when Kageyama knows he defends Hinata.

I imagine Kags would be the first of the karasuno guys to find out, and he’d do so by accident, and Hinata would be suuuuper nervous that he was gonna freak but Kags wouldn’t make a big deal of it at all and he’d be the friend that pestered Hinata to take better care of himself, like Hinata would wear his binder while he slept at the first training camp in case someone found out and Kags would chew him out for it because YOU IDIOT THAT’S SO BAD FOR YOU. Kags would also be the friend that went with Hinata to the bathroom and loudly ate a bag of something crinkly like potato chips to disguise the sound of Hinata opening sanitary product packaging even tho ppl give him weird looks for eating potato chips in the men’s room. Angry supportive Kags who gives no fucks he’ll do anything for Hinata is my fave esp in a kagehina universe like??????? But I also kinda like kenhina too and I can see kenma being agender/non-binary so they’d support each other and it’d be so cute screams into the void like even kenhina friendship too and Kenma being the genderqueer senpai to Hinata and giving him tips for hiding his binder and stuff (if Kenma was afab but idm afab or amab non-binary kenma are both good and pure).

“I’m sorry for making you wait for me…” Headcanon that Kuroo will stay late in the gym waiting for Kenma to get changed. Kenma wants him to do that because he hasn’t told anybody (besides Kuroo) he’s trans and he feels really uneasy about that. Some of their teammates chit chated that is was because they were dating, but what kenma sees in Kuroo is more of a safe place than a romantic interest. Kenma gets to do the surgery and finally feels like telling the team He didn’t say anything tbh, he just changed normally with them Kuroo is very proud Yaku is almost tearing up Yamamoto is literally tearing up Lev forgot Kenma is not much into physical contact RIP Lev “There’s no need for staying late anymore, thank you.”
