Set in 1960s Singapore, it is a time of much turmoil as tensions run high between various communities. As we follow the lives of two Chinese-educated young men, we contemplate the conflict that defines their lives, from clashes between friends, the student union they lead, the government, as well as the 'invisible enemy’ - communism. In the midst of this, romance blossoms between one young man and a socially alienated individual. As all parties fight for what they believe to be best, it inevitably results in unexpected consequences.
