Written for @hpdaddyknowsbest , Easier When You Listen is a Sirius/Hermione fic, and it’s PURE FILTH.
Thank you so much to @tsundere_art_millie for the beautiful art you made. I’m OBSESSED.

PSA: summer is temporary, but Nessian falling in love over hazy days and velvet nights is forever
in honor of the season, here's a little roundup of my summer-themed fics
Win Lose or Draw — on their annual Day Court vacations for the summer solstice, Nesta and Cassian do what they do best: flirt, fight, and fuck.
You Love When I Fall Apart — missing moment between ACOFAS and ACOSF, when Cassian sees Nesta across the barge at their summer's end party and... well. He's never been good at controlling himself around her.
Under the Egg Moon — Archaeologist Nesta and boat captain Cassian connect over dirt, lemons, and the invisible string of fate drawing them together.
Hands Down— Beach AU meet-cute with hot lifeguard Cassian, stolen late night kisses with only the moon as witness, and moving on from the past.
happy reading! stay hydrated! put on more sunscreen before you think you need to!

If Things Were Different, a Harmony story
Hermione would do anything for Harry.
Anything, that is, except say no to him.

Or, a story about infidelity, love, and what happens when you marry the wrong person.
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
I have an idea for @cassianappreciationweek and it involves Cassian as a fisherman living in a coastal village in Ireland who runs into author!Nesta who is in a writing rut and needs a reset....👀👀👀

If you're writing anything involving cons, scams, heists, or morally questionable characters who are very good at lying, here are some free resources I've been using for research. Saving you the "why is this in my search history" anxiety.
1. The FBI's Famous Cases & Criminals archive (fbi.gov/history/famous-cases) has detailed breakdowns of real fraud cases, Ponzi schemes, and confidence operations. The language they use is clinical and precise, which is perfect for getting the procedural details right.
2. The FTC Consumer Sentinel Network publishes annual reports on the most common fraud tactics in the US. Great for understanding how modern scams actually work and what makes people fall for them.
3. The Smithsonian's American Art Museum has a free digital collection of forgery case studies. If your character forges documents or art, this is gold.
4. Court Listener (courtlistener.com) is a free legal database where you can read actual court transcripts from fraud trials. Want to know how a real con artist talks under oath? This is where you find out.
5. The Internet Archive's collection of old newspaper crime sections. Search for "confidence man" or "swindle" in papers from the 1920s through 1960s and you'll find incredible real stories that would feel too dramatic for fiction.
Bonus: The Psychology of Fraud section on the Association for Psychological Science website has accessible articles about why people trust, how deception works cognitively, and what makes someone a convincing liar. Essential reading if you want your con artist characters to feel psychologically real.
Reblog to save for later. Your WIP will thank you.
