Accidentally wore two different socks today. My feet are officially living in a democracy now.
Are You Opting Out of Tumblr Allowing Third Party AI Model's to Train on Your Data?
Yes
No
I hadn't heard of this before, but now I'll opt out
Show me the results!
I'm planning on abandoning tumblr and deleting my blogs
Other (please explain in the tags)
From instructions on how to opt out, look at the official staff post on the topic. It also gives more information on Tumblr's new policies. If you are opting out, remember to opt out each separate blog individually.
Please reblog this post, so it will get more votes!
Apparently they officially claim that reblogs are protected if you opt-out, so that's good news:
"Prevent third-party sharing
This option will prevent your blog's content, even when reblogged, from being shared with our licensed network of content and research partners, including those that train AI models.
In the app:
Tap your account settings (the little human), and select the blog (if not already selected) in the top, left-hand corner of the screen.
Tap the gear icon, select "Visibility," and turn on the "Prevent third-party sharing for [your blog name]" switch.
On the web:
Visit your blog settings.
In the "Visibility" section, turn on the "Prevent third-party sharing for [your blog name]" switch.
If you've already chosen to discourage searching of your blog, we've automatically enabled the "Prevent third-party sharing" option."
I am by no means any kind of expert in such things, but, this seems to mean that if you do not yet have the option to opt-out, you can turn on the 'discourage searching' option, which should, as far as I understand it, theoretically count as opting out of 3rd party sharing until your account updates to give you that specific option.
That is to say -
Changing your settings to discourage searching should be a decent traige option for people who cannot yet opt out of 3rd party sharing.
I want to see the world burdened with an LLM and image generator trained on this hellsite.
People making apps to poison images for AI training data have nothing on what we can achieve with the communal power of applied brainrot.
Together, we can make an LLM no-one wants.
