You'd do well, Merlin, to stay out of things that do not concern you.
MERLIN | 3x07 "The Castle of Fyrien"
“I’m sorry, it’s usually Gwen that has to deal with me when I’m like this.” “I don’t mind. Maybe I could help.” “I doubt that.” “You’d be surprised.”
"I made a promise to your father to protect you. But if you cross me again, I will break that promise without a second thought" - Uther Pendragon to Morgana
You know something that really stumps me when watching Merlin and even...reading some weird fics is...how everyone seems to think Morgana mattered so much to Uther...even more so than Arthur apparently and I'm like... where did Uther ever show that he valued Morgana more than Arthur? Because I don't ever recall him threatening Arthur in this way where he basically says "You're dead to me". In fact, the greatest threat to Morgana's life, is in fact Uther Pendragon. Especially considering the fact that she has magic. But people think Uther would never harm Morgana?
Are you kidding me?
He's threatened her so many times, even laid his hands on her... but he's never done that to Arthur. Like ever as I recall.
So it just stumps me how people in the show think Uther loves Morgana and Morgana is a traitor for turning against Uther for a child which I'm sorry a child is gonna be killed but nobody questions that logic or how genuinely immoral it would be to leave that child to be killed
In fact the biggest moral hurdle Merlin had to go through this episode was having to choose not to save a child's life in order to save Arthur's life in the future.
And sadly...he chose not to save the child's life until the child was begging in his head to help him...
Because Arthur's life just means more.
This episode was wild. I honestly couldn't even enjoy the Mergana content. It just wasn't enough to satisfy me or to ignore how legitimately immoral almost the entire cast EXCEPT Morgana is.
And I'm shocked to say that because I legitimately thought Guinevere was like good but no, she seemed to find Morgana wanting to help Mordred as weird, troublesome and concerning. Like it seemed like she was just helping because she was a maid but if she wasn't Morgana's maid, I don't get the impression she'd help. More like bow her head and just ignore a child calling for help.
It was very disappointing. Especially knowing Morgana is going to obviously be the villian, and Mordred too but I find myself siding with them more than the so-called "heroes"
Weirdly enough, again, the only hero that didn't bother me in this episode was Arthur Pendragon. Arthur is A+.
My problem with Arthur is how he treats Merlin but considering how idiotic Merlin was this episode, I look forward to further abuses Arthur will put upon Merlin because Merlin deserves it so much. The man is a bootlicker, he deserves what bootlickers get, further abuse from the master they continue to bootlick for no reason.
The Arthur does have his moments where you see legendary great king Arthur ngl. And again, he was amazing this episode.
This is why I low-key love ArMor, because Morgana brings the best out of Arthur... moreso than Guinevere honestly. I'm sorry but I don't care for Guinevere's lectures on manners. Like why Arthur doesn't even know when he's a Prince is embarrassing.
But high-stakes, defying your douchebag of a father over a moral issue.
Sign me the fuck up. This is my romance.
Again I'm disappointed in Merlin... and I wish he'd be better in the future but we all know what will happen to Merlin so yeah. His destiny as the ultimate bootlicker as already begun.

Thinking about the fact that Arthur was being lied to and was betrayed by everyone he’s ever loved in his life until the day he died this holiday season 🫠

incorrect merlin quotes #14
I am still waiting for Severance to explain Irving visions from S1.
In a way, he did.
"Maybe I can help."
"How?"
"...You'd be surprised."

hey. i am not unreasonable. we can hunt demons after lunch!
Lumon's ultimate objective appears to be the attainment of complete severance—not merely on a cognitive level, where one’s "innie" and "outie" exist as separate entities devoid of shared memories, but also on a physiological level. Imagine a world where the aftermath of a dental procedure leaves no lingering pain or where the strain from writing an endless stream of thank-you notes simply vanishes, as though the body itself is spared from the burdens of its experiences.
This might explain why Dr. Mauer persistently inquires about Gemma’s physical condition following her visits to specific rooms. It suggests an awareness that while memories can be obstructed, the body may still retain the imprints of past experiences, whether pleasurable or traumatic. Severance, then, may not be solely about partitioning consciousness but about erasing the body's capacity to recall its own suffering.
