back when i was in ARR i used to try to imagine what it would look like if all the scions had their own unique chocobo and we could ride places together as a pack. i went into ffxiv not knowing anything so i was just fantasizing about all this back when the scions were just a realm reborn weirdos that sometimes did stuff alongside wol to me. 1) urianger’s tank chocobo, based largely on a raven. despite its huge kind of ragged intimidating appearance its very gentle. 2) thancred’s DPS chocobo. i couldnt decide whether it would be this sort of vain peacock-blue thing that he would be fond of and fuss over or just like a nondescript brown serviceable mount like a common sparrow so i just ended up not coloring that in or articulating that any further. i thought yda’s would be kind of like a bumbling kind of silkie chicken like bird that would never listen to her for comic relief, which ended up working for me when i found out yda was actually lyse – “her” chocobo doesnt get along with her because its not actually her bird.
