madi, she/her, 24, nova scotian, your friendly neighbourhood junior hockey sicko (english/french sometimes)
my main nhl team is the toronto maple leafs, but i do post a variety of teams due to prospect-watching
my qmjhl team is the cape breton eagles but i post a lot about the other maritime teams (primarily halifax, saint john in the past, and moncton presently)
i also watch a lot of ohl but currently don't have a favourite team (teams i supported in the past: windsor, kitchener, saginaw, oshawa). as implied by my q tier list, london are forever the opps but i can still play nice :)))
old tags/info below the cut:
this blog was mostly active during the 2016-17 season and has been wholly inactive since 2018 until may 2025. a lot has changed since then but my old tags still ring true!!
the whole reason i even entered hockey fandom spaces after years of watching the games is pld since he played for cape breton!! him getting drafted changed a lot for me beyond what i can get into on tumblr even if he is a headass (affectionate)
my leafs tag is a time capsule of the good old days <3 (core rookie season). and my 1634 tag because i had the privilege of seeing them play against each other for the first time at the u17s in cape breton (which also changed a lot for me beyond what i can get into on tumblr)
2016-17 saint john sea dogs tag the first time i put partisanship aside to appreciate good hockey while i got it in my backyard lol
on a related note, halifax mooseheads tag is home to draft-year nico hischier and reluctant reposts about natejo
laying my flowers here for team north america from the 2016 world cup of hockey. gone but never forgotten
of course a plentiful flower tag to honour the greatest screaming eagle there ever was 🫡 and sid the greatest scotian there ever was 🫡
they need to stop making hockey romance tv shows theres already a hockey romance tv show its been going for 74 years and its called the national hockey league its really bad dont watch it
the evil has been defeated by a very slightly less evil. now we can move on knowing that piece of shit had the worst stanley cup final performance of all time. may the entire vgk organization burn in hell.
I feel like people who are dismissive of sports don’t realize that they’re sometimes super condescending. like, okay, you didn’t like gym class and have personal grudges against the jocks from your high school! that doesn’t mean that other people are idiots for enjoying something that, when it’s at its best, can connect you to a broader community of fans and give you a chance to appreciate the athleticism that people are capable of when they spend years honing a specific set of skills. there’s something so valuable and human about sports that gets lost when you reduce it to “sportsball” or whatever
