Maybe Dragon Warrior for the NES? The first RPG that forced you to grind to level up, or else be immediately killed by the monsters in the next area. I hated that delay in storytelling until then.

I don't know how I missed this. KA is one of the best reporters the US has, especially for her social commentary on racism and a nuanced discussion of the First Amendment. This is atrocious.

I'm sure she'll land on her feet, but the whole masthead ought to be ashamed of itself.
