Shadow Queen & Knight part 4! Hopefully this won’t be the last painting of this duo, because I miss them so much already…

Sketching them in the burnt ruins of the fairy forest I thought about how being on a red life is kind like of vampirism - you lose your sense of self and all connection to the living, driven only by your need for bloodshed. She’s returned from death and she’s not the Lady that Ren devoted himself to, not anymore.

Also, I have but one sincere request for the next session: I really, really, really want Red Queen Lizzie. Even just a phrase used in passing, please please please let the former Red King use that title for his queen-turned-enemy, the parallels would kill me it’s all I’m asking for I’m vibrating with excitement just thinking about it adjfsjkgsfdsjigf
