Missing Piece

I feel like a piece is missing Like my heart is bruised I feel like the sun of my day is slightly dimmed But only I notice it I just want you to talk to me I just want to feel like you care All I’m left with is waiting and quiet You are one of my dearest friends And I feel like I can’t reach you I try to send my love to you But it crashes like waves against the seawall useless and unnoticed I am sad I feel like you don’t care at all I miss you I feel as if my life pauses for you to notice me And you just roll on along I am tired I am hurt And I just wait  It’s all I can really do

Poem about science mixed with pagan faith.

This might be difficult, but I’ll give it a try. I’mma be pretty varied on the science-y part tho.

We post photos to their shrines onlineWe light virtual candles when there’s no timeWe recite names of constellations as they listen in prideWe use phones to remind ourselves of important holidaysWe write poems and post them to show our loveWe use our science and our technologyWe still call what we have faith and loveSometimes we just show it in different ways

Anger

I am angry at the world At life At Fate

Why do bad things happen to people who don’t deserve it? Why are the ones they love made to suffer and struggle along with them? Are we just fated to be miserable and filled with guilt? Are we made to choose to live for ourselves and forsake the people who raised us?

I’m furious And desperately sad I can’t cry All I can do is think And think And overthink

I want to rage I want to scream and cry I want to howl at the crescent moon I want to wail and weep with the rain

All I have is silence And sadness And this quiet fuming rage And I don’t know what to do with all of it

The calm sunny day beforeThe hot winds that whips the limbs in a danceAnd the feeling of the storm building Heavy rain falling in sheetsLoud enough to drown out the worldStreaming down glass like furious tearsThunder that shakes the window panesLightning that paints the world pink for only a momentHuge splattering dropsIce cold on your skinThe heat and haze that comes afterSteam settling eerily over the streets Tomorrow it will start all over again

“Highschool was so much fun!” I hear them sayAnd I admit it had it’s momentsI remember recess spent conjuring waspsAnd lunches spent writing spellsGym was fun for tripping up the hateful teacherWe shaded ourselves in the dark cornersAnd all but cackled when things worked outWe stuck close together at all timesBut things changed over the yearsI keep those fun moments closeBut memories is all they are now
