This is amazing. Also, how fucking funny would it be to invent a time machine and bring back a staunch anti-suffragette misogynist from like 1910 to 2022 and force him to watch a lesbian couple voting

Self-managed abortion (SMA) with pills is very medically safe and effective throughout early pregnancy, but there is a significant risk of criminalization in many U.S. states. While it is impossible to fully eliminate the risk of criminalization when having or planning to have an abortion at home, t
Leave no online footprint of searches or purchases. Digital Defense Fund’s abortion privacy guide is your go-to resource for this. Using private browsers, two-factor authentication, encrypted messaging, strong passwords, etc. is critical. Google searches have been presented as evidence in an SMA trial before. Do not leave a digital trail.
Use the medications properly to prevent interactions with healthcare providers. The pills are very effective, but they have to be used right. Carefully follow the instructions provided on the How to Use Abortion Pill website. Note that misoprostol tablets should always be taken by dissolving them under the tongue. Do NOT insert misoprostol vaginally if you are self-managing an abortion. While this is medically safe, it can leave incriminating pill remnants that can be detected in the vagina during a pelvic exam if you end up needing to seek medical care.
If it’s not an emergency but you need expert health advice, use a free calling service like Google Voice to call or text the Miscarriage + Abortion Hotline at 1-833-246-2632. Medical complications are very uncommon with abortion pills, but they’re not impossible. The M+A Hotline is safe to use and is staffed by trustworthy clinicians who volunteer their time to help those who choose SMA. Do not use your own phone number to call as this will create a record that is visible to your cell service provider.
Don’t disclose any information about SMA to emergency room staff if you do need to seek medical care. This is how most people who are arrested for SMA are reported. Healthcare providers are almost always who calls the police in cases of SMA criminalization. Contrary to popular belief, HIPAA does not protect your private health information from being shared with police if you are suspected of doing something that could be considered a crime. If you believe you need to seek urgent medical care, do not hesitate to go. Say “I think I’m having a miscarriage” and provide your symptoms. Do not mention any use of or purchase of abortion pills. There is no widely available test to detect misoprostol in your bloodstream. If you do not disclose it, there is no way for a medical provider to tell the difference between a medication abortion and a spontaneous miscarriage.
Do not talk to the cops. Period. Do. Not. Talk. To. The. Cops. If you are questioned by police you should state, “I am exercising my right to remain silent, and I wish to speak with an attorney.” Do not speak again or nod in response to a question. Contact the Repro Legal Helpline as soon as possible for expert legal advice: 1-844-868-2812. Do not agree to questioning or speak to any law enforcement official without a lawyer present.
Elsa’s wardrobe in Frozen 2
In English, Elsa sings “the cold never bothered me anyway”.
In Spanish, the lyric is “the cold is also part of me”.
I like the Spanish lyric more. It better explains her connection than just making it seem like being unbothered by the cold is simply a secondary effect of her powers.
So, a huge amount of my Disney posts were flagged because there might be adult content in the reblogs. No, not on my blog. In the reblogs of the post from my blog.
I see Tumblr’s algorithms are still crap.
Explain something to me. Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
They can show an (attempted) public execution, pole dancing, an onscreen (albeit, not graphic) death in Frollo killing Quasi's mother, a clearly lustful man, sexual harassment (he sniffs her hair), a near murder of an innocent family... but they can't say the word "sex".
They got away with the song Hellfire, and I’m almost certain “hell” was said at least once before that song. But they had to dance around Frollo’s lust for Esmeralda. They couldn’t outright say the word “sex”.
I don't understand the rules of media. And this film kept a G rating. Not PG. G.
I know the film is five years old, but one of the things I liked about Inside Out is it addressed toxic positivity. The point isn't just that it's okay to be sad, but that it's abnormal to always be happy. Your other emotions exist for a reason.
I'm all for positivity, but I've seen people dismiss those who go through traumatic experiences as "negative" for talking about it or not immediately "looking on the bright side". Emotions aren't one-dimensional. You can be happy to be alive and be devastated at something that happened to you.
Like everything, there is a time and a place. Someone's grief process is not appropriate for "just be happy".
I'm watching the Gold and Silver season of the Pokémon anime. Currently on the episode Charizard's Burning Ambitions.
So, it's considered unfair for Ash to use Charizard because most of opponents wouldn't stand a chance against it. Wow, seriously? Isn't that the point?! Ash trained Charizard like every trainer trained their pokemon. How on Earth is it cheating for a trainer to have a powerful pokemon they personally trained just because most trainers usually don't? Other trainers' pokemon are not Ash's problem.
I wish more people acknowledged that the phrase “[I’m] not like other girls” has many meanings, not all of which are related to internalized misogyny. Like it can mean “I’m not like other girls, I’m better, because I don’t do [insert negative gender stereotype here] or it can mean, “I am weird and different and bullied, and I have tried and failed to be like the other girls who seem to me (correctly or not) to fit in so easily,” or “I am searching for a reason for my social isolation and use gendered terms because I am heavily socialized that gender matters, and it doesn’t occur to me to ask if I am anything like boys,” or “Everybody is trying to shame me for being different, and I can’t seem to conform, so I have decided my difference is a good thing and I am better than them as a coping mechanism,” or “I am beginning to realize I have some intrinsic difference from most of my fellow female classmates, for example I’m some form of queer.” Or “I’m twelve and acting out my innate human need to differentiate myself from my peers in a gendered way, and somehow no one would say boo if I were a boy.”
This is perfect.
I'm sorry, but I really hate season nine.
The show glosses over Laura being unfaithful to Stefan, and justifies it with "she's trying to figure her feelings out". A season ago, they acknowledged when she did this and had her break things off with Curtis. But apparently, for the sake of getting Laura and Steve together, it's okay for her to kiss Steve multiple times and go out on a date with him, and pretend for the time being her relationship with Stefan doesn't exist. In a show called Family Matters, cheating is glossed over and justified.
I'm so tired of this plot, I skip over it in episodes where it's prominent and watch the subplot. Maybe Steve and Laura do deserve each other. They're both jerks who were disrespectful to their current partners (Steve told Myra seasons ago she was only a placeholder until Laura became interested in him, and no matter how you spin it, that's an absolute jerk move)?
The episode I'm watching is also the firsr where the new actress who plays the mother comes in. I can see why the old actress left.
Hmm...
Skinny: “I have a fast metabolism!”
*crickets*
Fat: “I have a slow metabolism.”
“Metabolism isn’t excuse! You’re lazy!”
Uh... why is metabolism an excuse for one and not the other? My “gained thirty pounds since high school” ass is confused.
Whoever came up with this annoying "Bunny Day" event should be kicked off the Animal Crossing staff.
I'm sick of these stupid eggs! I need clay, and more than half of what I get from the rocks are those damn eggs! Is there no way to opt out of this event?! All these eggs are doing is making materials that are needed less likely to come
I'll play New Leaf until this stupid Bunny Day event is over. If those an Easter event next year (if there is a next year), could they make it less annoying?
Social distancing is going to leave me or one of my family members with a murder charge.
We’re losing our darn minds and at each other’s throats because we’re aggravated from being in 24/7. I’m two seconds from tossing the next person who nags or complains out of my bedroom window.
And to think this could (really, likely will) last for the rest of the year. No, somebody absolutely will die.
Unpopular opinion: Steve Urkel kept hounding Laura Winslow because she wouldn't stop sending him mixed messages, and even though he was annoying af, Laura was frequently way too mean to him. It's fine that she didn't want to admit to herself that she actually really did like/love Steve, but she shouldn't have acted like it was some kind of chore to be his friend. Either treat him with respect or cut him loose. Don't jerk him around and then get mad when he thinks he's got a chance. Everybody acted like Steve had boundary issues, but with the boundaries being redrawn every five minutes, wtf was he supposed to do?
#steveurkeldefensesquad2k20
That doesn’t really justify Steve’s behavior. This guy went so far as to tell his current girlfriend she’s essentially a placeholder until Laura shows interest. Plus, it’s pretty obvious the writers only made Laura have feelings for him for the sake of drama and that fans wanted them together.
Some episodes had Steve go so far as STALKING Laura (and in another state, at that!), and the audience is still supposed to be on his side. Yes, Laura can be awful in her own right - I’m not denying that - but the series reached a point where Steve could do no wrong and the audience is always supposed to feel sorry for him.
And yes, Steve had serious boundary issues. Again, stalking someone. Also, the many times he (and others, I admit) entered the Winslows’ home without permission. There is an episode where he literally says he’ll come over any time he wants. Uh, no. In real life, nobody in their right mind would tolerate that blatant disrespect of their home and privacy. And the mere fact he does seem to think he’s owed Laura’s love because he likes her. In other words, he not only has boundary issues, but entitlement ones.
Being the friend of someone who can’t take no for an answer is a chore, and lack of social awareness is not sympathetic it’s always used to justify Steve being a jerk. Everyone around him deals with the consequences of his actions while he rarely does, and sometimes, we’re supposed to praise him for being a jerk. Laura wanting him back in her life when he briefly left her alone was for the sake of keeping him on the show and maintaining his comedy antics.
I feel like Family Matters’s moral of “be yourself” falls flat.
It’s easy for the guy whose actions often poorly affect others to claim he likes himself. When you constantly harm others’ property and stalk a girl for years on end because you think you’re entitled to her, “being yourself” is not a good thing. Negatively affecting others (and repeatedly saying sorry, but you continue doing it) is not justified by “be yourself”.
Watched more of Family Matters. I can see why Jaleel White got tired of playing this character.
Steve's lack of social skills and reading too much into situations is more grating than funny now. I watched the epsiode "Movin' On". I know Steve somehow thinking Carl wants him to come back home is supposed to be hilarious, but it just makes me unable to feel sorry for him when he's homesick earlier. Honestly, I don't think Steve is a sympathetic character at all. But this show did last nine seasons, so I guess that proves time marches on.
You know what I hate a lot? People who act like writing is ~so easy~ compared to like, drawing or whatever. Like no actually it takes effort to make it good you just don't need expensive supplies or programs and it takes little to no physical ability. Writing is art. There's just as much skill involved with this medium as anything else, and comparing mediums is itself kinda stupid if I'm being completely honest
"But anybody can just start writing-" anybody can start drawing, too, jackass. Oh but it takes time and dedication to get good at it? Boy do I have news for you about how writing works
Tbh? They sound exactly the same as those people who think digital art isn't ~real art~ because ~the computer does all the work~ like no..... That's. No
Personally, I have an easier time writing than drawing, but writing itself definitely isn’t easy unless you’re splashing every immediate thought you have on the page (and really, not even then).
